It's perfectly harmless and as forgettable.
Whenever I think about it, I always remember how much better Nadia: Secret of Blue Water was. And without the moronic Hollywood villain twists that make no fricking sense. Just awesome adventure with probably the best naval warfare kino you'll ever see in an animated series.
Atlantis WISHES it could hit even a fraction of the highs Nadia hits consistently.
looks like generic weeb shit to me, impossible to pick out in a lineup of other weeb shit.
You're generic weeb shit.
>the highs Nadia hits consistently.
until the end, of course
It's okay, but as the other anon said it's forgettable. Worth a watch though.
Just watch a Rourke compilation on YouTube, he’s the only redeeming part of it
>Rourke
He was based
Also didn't get why "the Kaiser" was a villain. Germany had a tiny empire.
>Also didn't get why "the Kaiser" was a villain
pretty sure that's just something Milo says as a throwaway line.
Rourke's heel turn doesn't really make sense either, why would he suddenly get greedy when the expedition is so decimated they'd be lucky if anyone gets back? The narrative and pacing is honestly kind of a mess generally. Would make more sense some atlantean was the villain even if Kida is cute
>why are mercenaries so greedy for money
Gee, I wonder.
She cute.
my erect penis
Man I jacked off so many times to this girl as a kid
>girl
don't tell him bros HHHHHHHAAHAHAHAHAHA
aggressively bland
doja cat did it better
>Atlantis
>Stargate
>The Mummy (1999)
Any other archeology kino?
its fine but it isn't as good as Road to El Dorado or Treasure Planet or even Prince of Egypt
yea it's pretty alright
did you know the dude behind the hellboy comics did work on this?
It's great.
Ignore the idiots who call it "Forgettable". It's a perfect adventure story, with some of the best characters in ANY Disney film.
Pretty mid
It's a rip-off of Nadia
we'll never again have an opening quote from plato in a kids movie and the drawing is great...
HOWEVER the bumbling meekish explorer kid is made soulless so that more mary sues can enter the story.
homosexuals here are totally correct saying this movie is bland and forgettable, but I would hasten to add derivative. More so than you would normally forgive as being coincidental or the usual Disney level of stealing ideas.
The entire opening is like the animated version of Stargate where Dr. Daniel Jackson is being laughed at by archeologistgays for his "crazy" theories, (which turn out to be true). And the similarities in the character and design of Milo and the performances of Spader and Shanks I found impossible to get past.
If the movie had something unique to offer that would justify the recycling of better material then it wouldn't bother me so much, but it's just the usual 'song of my people' bullshit that never gets out of the gate, let alone go anywhere.
Also found the art and overall style to be more like a Warner Bros animation than Disney - and in a bad way.
A little too much impressionism, distortion, angular design, etc. I found the overall look quite ugly. I'd criticize the color palette too. I realise they were going for a period look, and it's not off-the-mark there, but still just adds to the meh.
The cast of 'muh whacky' characters is like the cast of characters in 'Rogue One'. It seems unnecessarily bloated, while they are individually pointless, so you don't remember them or their names, and nothing in their personalities, backstories, actions, or vocal performances helps with that.
Someone post that webm
Why don’t they make animation kino like these anymore?
was it kino?
I'm not exactly the biggest "Treasure Island" fan, but I'd still say a better than its reputation or box office response, (though not by much), and it's goddamned eclectic and downright bizarre in many ways.
Probably a matter of taste, but you can definitely respect specific aspects of it, even if you don't find the whole thing particularly compelling. Like interesting use of 3D animation from that time, specific characters might have been better in a better movie, Morph is a clever idea, (again a weird choice in the whole context of the film, but an animator's wet fricking dream).
So kinda worth seeing, even if not for the overall entertainment value.
Yes it was the right mix of sci-fi piracy steampunk
God what a kino setting
>furgay detected
Completely unrelated but yes
the mom was hot
Yes.
I really enjoyed it and have no idea why it didnt do well at the box office. One of my fav disney cartoons
Great movie. Was pleasantly surprised when I watched one of those Archaeologist Reviews vids and she said this inspired a lot of kids to pursue archaeology.
Kino. Yes
>White haired waifus
My one weakness
Friendly reminder they put ALL the vehicles inside one (1) submarine, even as a kid I thought it was moronic. Did every sub had all vehicles and machinery inside just in case?
