every movie idea is good to be put on the screen. It will depend if you have a decent writer(s) and director. Sadly, most of the times you have awful writers and/or awful directors.

Choosing actors by DEI is also a problem but if you have a solid script and a decent director, both can put the moronic actors in line and make at least something entertaining.

I haven't cried in I don't remember how many years but I am quite confuzzled and distraught by this trailer. He's one of my favorite directors, ever time he makes a movie it's a spectacular epic, and this looks like slop.

      >Principal photography began on April 30, 2023.[22] The film was produced independently and shot in Italy at Cinecittà Studios in Rome, and on location in the city of Matera and the ghost town of Craco, both in the Basilicata region. Parts of the film will also be shot in Mexico.[23]

Not sure about the validity of the sources but this is what Wikipedia claims.

Mel directed Flight Risk shortly before directing Passion 2. He was just more public about Passion 2 so this flew under the radar until the trailer.

This puts my mind at ease, but still, I find it weird and worrying he would make a movie that's not an epic like he usually does. Seems like a major pitfall for his directorial legacy.

The frick are you being such a baby about? If you want to split hairs about it, Mel probably wanted to derust with a smaller film before getting to work on Passion 2.

I completely agree. It's disappointing to see him taint his stellar filmography but hopefully The Resurrection makes up for it. If we're actually going to see Jesus descending into hell and the fall of the angels like he's talked about then I'm thinking it will.

the trailer gives away the whole movie. there's no need to show them regaining control and restraining Wahlberg, the premise is exhibited adequately and it shows Marky Mark playing a norwood chud, that's enough to sell the movie
