Slappy Squirrel is by far the character whose absence was missed most/complained about the most with Numaniacs though.
Also, people had a good point that even with many of the weaker skits, they still added needed variety even if they usually weren't great. Doing the Warners/Pinky and the Brain/Warners skit format over and over got mind-numbingly repetitive with nothing to break them up. The "new" characters they introduced weren't in it much and also weren't very good, at least bringing back and retooling some old skits would have the nostalgia factor.
I'm still pissed they left her out.

Tweetie has been pushed as a big TT icon for girls stuff (ironic because he's a guy), appearing on loads of WB merch. This has lead to tweety being pushed as more of a "Central" character in recent Loony toons series and features.
As a corrolary to this, they seem to be pushing Tweetie as a big central character in TT, even though she was REVILED in the original.
TL:DR version, she's getting on for the same reason Elmyra got her own show: because the executives get the big bucks and make the calls, and the executives are often brain dead morons who have little understanding of the actual product they oversee.

I kinda like the idea that these companies are taking risks on finding new talent. Unfortunately, some "safe" IPs get slaughtered and sacrificed to the new talent so that they can cut their teeth and gain experience.
If they want to give new "talent" something to prove themselves with, they can do shorts, specials, or an episode on existing shows. Giving them an entire series is nothing but nepotism and internal subversion. Someone said the right words, checked the right boxes, and sucked the right dicks.
Or, get this, younger people will be a cheaper, safer fit for a show that's trying to capture a younger audience. On top of that, the boomers are retiring, so the next generations need to be brought in or else the company dies with those who retire.

The showrunner's experience is that she did a "politics humor" podcast, where the other host talked 70% of the time, turning her into a sidekick. Beyond that she's done "funny" summaries of Game of Thrones episodes, where 90% of the humor came from the fact that the summaries were read aloud by a flamboyantly gay hairdresser.
That's basically the entire CV of the showrunner.

I'm talking about the voices of Donald's nephews that sounded disgusting in Nu-Ducktales, not the entire series. Nu-Ducktales had good ideas but bad execution and after the first season it is really unwatchable although I managed to watch it till the end. The fact that one reboot is better than another does not mean that the reboot itself is good. Same shit.
The only reboot that Disney did well was Paul Rudish's Mickey Mouse. It's what I can call a true masterpiece of animation, although I'm not a fan of those imitations of Ren and Stimpy styles. Yes, Warner Bros is really making a terrible mistake and why are they even investing in the freaking Velma series when it's the worst animated series ever. Though I'm amazed they don't use good animation and style like they did in Space Jam 2.
Space Jam 2 was shit once you got past the "yeah that's okay" animation.
So that was the only good thing about that movie.
DuckTales 2017 was rough. Compared to this it was a masterpiece worthy of the animation hall of fame.
At this point WB should just sell their animation studio to someone else. They cancel anything remotely good, put people in charge that shouldn't be in charge, go "this is fine" to disastrously bad flash-level animation, and squander their budget on fricking Velma.

To be fair the OG show was them in school learning about being a cartoon character. They had an episode with Plucky getting stuck in a exaggerated eye animation. I just can't get past the animation they use. This is something a Looney Tunes character would mock.
I only watch a small number of shows these days. Is this kind of "animation" normal? I'm assuming it's something to do with "puppet rigging" or something like that? Is this normal? Is this common? It's the first time I've ever seen something that looks so much like shadow puppet theatre. But without the charm.
Rigged animation is normal in modern cartoons, but that alone is not the sole determinant in the quality of the animation. A lot depends on how the character is rigged, how much traditional animation is incorporated into each part/limb of the rig, and how much interpolation is used/abused.
Look up videos of The Ghost and Molly McGee, Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure, Wander Over Yonder, The Wonderful World Of Mickey Mouse, Hilda, really anything by Mercury Filmworks to get better examples of rigged animation.

A lot of the dialogue and probably some of the effects are placeholder. However, with the animation, what you see is what you'll get.
Yeah, the stuff where they clearly have awkward transitions or turning into storyboards was self-explanatory. It's this whole "traditional animation + rigged puppets" thing that's new to me. It used to be that if I saw a character walk across the screen in a leak I'd assume that's what'd air. With all this computer shit going on, I dunno if APPARENTLY finished scenes might still get improved animation or if we're just stuck with the dogshit animation that we just saw.

With the advent of the 11Labs leak of deepfake AI adjusted voice actor clone software, and the advancement of AI assisted animation, Hollywood style animation productions are running on borrowed time. The software tech will continue to improve. It will get into the hands of talented and ambitious amateur production teams. We will see homebrew fan fiction animation as well as original created content (See - Murder Drones on Youtube) that will slowly take over as the new cool source of cartoons.

AMC+ is not going to be around in 5 years, they've already lost the streaming wars. I don't feel there's anything inherently wrong with thin-to-thick limbs. The bigger issue is losing any kind of rhythm in those lines. The new Mickey Mouse cartoons does this too, but in a subdued way, and that looks fine.
Looniversity also has the problem of rigging elbows and knees. It almost always looks bad. Shows like Loud House and Ghost and Molly McGee avoid it by drawing entire arms as much as possible.

I finally found the will power to watch this entire thing in one sitting, and I came to a realization. I hate the entire concept. Even setting aside the technical problems, the foundation of the show is unworkable.
The Looniversity is the equivalent of someone explaining a joke. Except that person is a corporate accountant or some humorless analyst, and he's focused on the punchline to the exclusion of everything else. He doesn't care or understand things like ramp up or misdirection, he just looks at the data and draw conclusions like:
