Kirby's a static character (not truly his personality has changed through out the games but not something you'd notice immediately) so he wouldn't truly be the main character, he'd be like the magical pixie whatever to some other character and helps them grow, all the while have some build up to fighting either King Dedede then the true main bad like many of the games did. At the end the character Kirby helps out does some key thing that helps save everyone they learn to have confidence and that it isn't about powers but the strength of your heart etc etc etc. End the movie with a feel good picnic banquet and maybe have a teaser for the next by showing some obscure thing in the back ground. The end. Bonus points if the main character is inspired by Adeline since it fill the roll of female empowerment or whatever

Anyway, I'm personally hoping for something that's like a space Western, with lots of action, in terms of moving movie forward, but very little dialogue that's also a true sci-fi movie. Something that has a lot of scenery porn, considering what Metroid is. Do it like a Samurai Jack episode but with the atmosphere of Alien, maybe a little bit more vibrant and colorful than that.
The problem I see with making a Metroid film adaptation is how do you stop it from being just like Alien but with a blonde Ellen Ripley? Perhaps the western approach could help, or maybe make the movie about child Samus instead (although I'm not sure enough people care about child Samus)

I can't be the only one who thinks this movie is going to turn out alright? Good even? Illumination just makes mediocre to good animated movies, Nintendo makes mediocre to good games. It won't be pozzed, it won't feature topical humor: the end product will likely be a little strange at first, but ultimately inoffensive and simple to a fault. With everyone going in expecting the worst, it's only going to raise expectations unrealistically high once the film releases and isn't a complete dumpster fire.
Illumination WILL be animating the rest of these films, so you'd have to live with seeing Zelda or Metroid animated by Illumination. Although I personally wouldn't be surprised if they only stuck with Mario spin-off films (Luigi's Mansion, WarioWare, Captain Toad, Mario Kart) for marketability's sake and never touched their other franchises.
I was cautiously optimistic about it until the delay killed any interest I had in it.
I'm confident it was delayed because of corporate oversight, not because the film is incomplete or having production trouble. Illumination's picked up the habit of delaying their films so they can find the most profitable theatrical window- it's partially why Minions 2 was delayed by two years. They likely realized it was suicide to release a movie against not just the next WDAS flick, but specifically Avatar 2, which is still projected to break box office records. By moving Mario to spring, it lines up with the American opening of the theme park, gives the studio an opening for a safer, less profitable holiday film (Puss in Boots 2), and only competes with Spider-Verse 2: a film with an appeal more niche than an all-ages Mario film.

Even if it weren't for Detective Pikachu, Nintendo doesn't fully own Pokemon, so they'd have to play ball with other stakeholders. Though you're wrong about MCU being a lightning in a bottle. DCEU was halfway there, the MonsterVerse is doing pretty well, and cinematic universes have been done in film before. Look up Universal Horror, Hammer Horror, and Toho's kaiju movies. MCU's template isn't really the same but the precedent for a shared cinematic universe had already been set.
If we get a new F-Zero movie that's great and it jumpstarts interest in a new game, I'd be very happy with that.

They weren't crimes against humanity like we expected after trailer 1, and certainly contain plenty of enjoyable elements and quality moments, but "good" is a bit of a stretch. Just a bit, though. I will say 1 had a stronger core and better use of the human characters than 2 did. I found 2 kind of disappointing. Everything pure Sonic is fantastic, but it's very heavily held back by forced bullshit like the wedding scene. The whole setting is weighed down by being fundamentally tied to a terrible Nickelodeon children's sitcom world, and that really shows now that we're actually getting real Sonic stuff added into it. Sonic fans act like it's the second coming because "it's okay" is the best verdict non-Mania Sonic media has received in over 20 years. You'll notice they've all been silenced and crawled back inside their holes after Frontier whipped out its ugly dick and put them back in their place.

A business is failing when they're losing money. They weren't losing money with the N64 and GC even though they sold less than the PS1 and 2. Now talking about the Wii...the PS3 sold approx. 100 million units, but were losing money with each sale so bad. I'm not lying either you can look it up.

If that's the case then 99% of consoles are failures since hardware rarely turns a profit and it's the games revenue what recoups and makes profit, why else would Sony sold the PS1 a hundred dollars cheaper than the Saturn at launch?
Because Sony and Microsoft by extension have calculated when they'll turn in the profits.

In the past maybe but not today. You saw how fast Sony and MS games end up in the bargain bin or in bundles where they're given for free. Only Nintendo relies on game revenue anymore, Sony and MS rely on GAAS revenue, online subscription revenue, and console sales once they've turned a profit after the initial loss.

Nintendo for better or worse operates under a different mindset. Their business model is after sustainability, not the usual model that we're used to where if it's a fad, the business does everything to cash in on it until it runs out of juice. It's why Pokemon is still the mania it is today.

PS3's online was free. From that to $60 nobody said anything. Anyway for Nintendo, it's just them being fricking cheapasses again because Japan's internet framework is a lot better than around the world that they can afford skimping on the online. Not defending it, just explaining it. Bandai Namco does the same thing too with Smash and Tekken.

Is TPCI's responsibility not Nintendo. Animal Crossing was THE pandemic hit and after 1-2 free updates there was nothing. Probably moved on to the next project in line.
