No one ever seems to understand how much force this would require to do with your leg, and a slave class member did it casually with no visible effort. Plot convenience is the only reason gems poofed as often as they do against any non gem attack/force.
oof. that boulder could have been a lot smaller
Physics, like most things in Steven Universe, is unrealistic, inconsistent and shitty. Not only would it require a lot of force to kick a rock like that, but she'd have to be incredibly heavy to do it without budging an inch.
>she'd have to be incredibly heavy to do it without budging an inch.
Gems can control how gravity effects their bodies.
And yet Lapis is the only one ever shown to fly, aside from Peridot, who did it by flying on a garbage can lid like Static Shock. Amethyst fell several stories and landed on a rock hard enough to crack her gem. There were plenty of other times where it probably would have been really useful, but they just didn't bother with it.
Pearl once manipulated sand the same way Lapis manipulates water and it was never shown or mentioned again. The show just isn't written well.
Most of them don't have full control over it, except for Steven, and potentially the other diamonds.
>Pearl once manipulated sand the same way Lapis manipulates water and it was never shown or mentioned again.
Only on a very small scale, and it makes sense pearls would have some connection to sand since they're made from it.
>Most of them don't have full control over it, except for Steven, and potentially the other diamonds.
So it's only there to justify unrealistic physics when it suits your argument?
>Only on a very small scale, and it makes sense pearls would have some connection to sand since they're made from it.
Why? It's not like Lapis are made of water. Really, the characters just have whatever ability the writers find convenient at the time.
There physics are entirely realistic for gravity altering energy people.
Well yeah. It's a cartoon, and they're basically magic. You can dispute real life physics all you want but we're supposed to be arguing with the shows previously established rules and powers. And yeah, the writers retcon shit all the time.
>Pearl once manipulated sand the same way Lapis manipulates water and it was never shown or mentioned again.
That was one of those "We have an idea for something really early in season 1 and then decide not to use it" things that tons of Western cartoons do, even episodic ones. Like when Double D was crushing hard on Sarah in the first handful of Ed Edd n Eddy episodes and then it just got dropped. It's stupid that they wouldn't at least allude to it again but that's just how it goes with this shit.
As a correction to you here, their bodies automatically adjust to the planets gravity. That's it, as far as we know they can't freedly manipulate it. If they could do that, they would. Steven is the only one who can really do that with his floating powers but that's different since he's a diamond.
>Steven, showing the ultimate display of selflessness, imbued his own power in every pizza
>for every one he gives away, he weakens, growing smaller
heh
The shot of them walking always gets me. It's like a YTP.
I hate this gif, because it reminds me that during this scene nothing was wrong to me. I have been brainwashed by rebecca and her inconsistent sizing to the point where I didn't even notice. On the other hand, I liked garnet in this episode. She was big. Garnet should be big.
I liked Garnet in this scene because it was one of the few times post fusion reveal that she acted like she was her own character and not two midgets in a trenchcoat.
It's not totally consistent, but very few non-gem attacks ever actually poofed a gem, and they seemed to be much more vulnerable to piercing damage that blunt force, kinda like Wonder Woman.
In all fairness their are many types of rocks. That could just be a really light rock. What I really hate with thing like this is how she somehow bounces the rock off her leg like a ball. The levels of force would easily shatter the entire rock.
Well it was presumably constructed by a bismuth. Who knows what those crack heads built the tower with. Maybe it was even tougher than regular rock, making this an even more impressive feat.
one you all realize this show was about as well put together as every halfassed webcomic project by the exact kinda deviantart usin, oc doodlin, work postponin, catfight startin, internet scrollin, marker abusin, schoolyard spat startin, preteen girl in an adult's body, youll understand why this show sucked so much ass
no one working on it knew what they were doing and sugar had all the ambition and none of the interest nor skill to pull off anything by herself, much less wrangle a gaggle of her internet friends who wanted to sit around and draw coffee shop AUs more than they were willing to work on anything
>Has all that leg strength
>Never used it as an excuse to wrestle Greg before pretend to "lose" to him, even tho shes way stronger than any human being, just so he can angrily frick her like she knows she wants him to
god what a coward
Sugar was the coward here for not admitting Pearl wanted that diamond-shattering filthy human manwiener
She kept trying to set her up with random b***hes, to claim that she's gay, but it was all a ruse, much like how a real woman might pretend to want other things just to get over her crush on a man she knows she can never have... So did Sugar, and by extension Pearl, attempt to fill the void in her heart, not realizing all it took was getting this glorious human specimen to fill HER instead
this show has alot of hiatuses
It ended
Remember how Rebecca's pitch was just a sketchbook full of ideas and drawings that some CN exec thought was beautiful and filled with passion?
Well, that's exactly what the show is. Just a mess of ideas where there are sometimes pretty designs and drawings to accompany them. This is why if you pitch a show, you should probably lock it the frick down and not just be an "idea man".
kek id love to see a YTP of this show
also the girl in the very first shot is obviously a crewmember reference that they wanted to keep on the downlow, but she looks TOO small and unnoticeable like a speck in the background, when they couldve just used a regular towenie or something, but then they wouldnt have gotten this le epic inside reference that nobody gets
i think a big problem with this show is that they constantly put their foot down on things they WANT to do, like a little kid, and wont hear otherwise no matter how insignificant
they constantly wanna shove in all these references purely so people will notice how cool theyre being and do all this stuff that theyre not permitted to do
cartoon creators were always held by limitations, both from people/networks and the simple nature of cartoon creation alike, and they always worked around them
but instead of having the artistic skill to go "oh, i cant do that? oh well, lets work with what i can do!", they go "i cant do that? but i wanna i wanna i wanna!!!"
I think it's supposed to be Rebecca, we've seen her townie walking around before. It was quite fun to spot them
Would have been a lot better if she had just redirected it
