I used to inject my pokemon but burned out on it when I realized I was fighting literal children who were injecting 6 shiny legendaries and were using no strategy whatsoever. Now I just play Showdown like a real man.
I shiny hunted once and I'm never doing it again. It's legitimately a waste of time.
Pokemon sucks now anyways so I've earned my right to inject whatever shiny I want.
>Pokemon sucks now
SV was good, the story was pants-on-head-moronic and the bullying-plot was beaten like a dead horse. Definitely better than SwSh though
Who gives a frick about the story when the games are more handholdy than ever (when they decide to work), features keep being removed and there's a slew of gimmicks and ugly new Pokemon nobody wants?
Can pokemon fans explain to me why shinies had a 1/6000000 encounter rate?
it's just a fricking pallet swap, hell, they could easily make it so every pokemon can customize their color, it wouldn't be difficult whatsoever.
It's just a neat way of making certain pokemon special and showing off the palette swapping capabilities of the GBC.
Because they know autismos who care about pallet-swapped pokemon would spend thousands of hours hunting and breeding them.
SV made it easier than ever to hunt shinies, if one were to care about that. I never gave a shit.
Now making them as common as they are now is just pointless. They should add a ribbon or something that you can only get on shiny pokemon that were obtained at the full 1/8000 odds to trigger shiny hunters.
>It's just a neat way of making certain pokemon special
games can now alter the colour of materials like it's nothing. genuinely every pokemon could be palette swapped or even customized by the player in real time. it's just another tick showing how lazy gamefreak is
The devs who've worked on the first gameboy game are the ones making the games today. We literally have 10 more years until they retire and we get new blood making pokemon games.

Probably the biggest b***hes in gaming. Literally "no fun allowed" and they make up new rules every time they get beaten by their old rules. Basically, that kid nobody wanted to play games with because they were a sore loser.

Arboliva was my MVP against Sabrina in the Radical Red grass monotype I'm doing. High special attack and good special defense, slow so it takes advantage of her team's trick room setters and getting hit activates grassy terrain, which overrides her psychic terrain so my other mon can use sucker punch and other priority moves.
>april fools was so bad this year Cinemaphile said frick it and made a Pokemon nostalgia sticky thread that autoplayed the whole original soundtrack
Best AFD in a while. Very kino.
The Pokémon universe is great and it’s a little disappointing that it’s solely for kids. I wish we could get a more mature/serious Pokémon anime, even if it was akin to one piece or Naruto, just not toddler shit like it is now. Same for the games, why haven’t we gotten Pokémon dark souls/Skyrim yet where it’s an open world adventure and the battles are in real time with you controlling the Pokémon movements and abilities. Why are we playing the same games for the last 30 years with less features than 15 years ago?
>I wish we could get a more mature/serious Pokémon anime, even if it was akin to one piece or Naruto, j
Pokemon Colosseum my dude. It's exactly what you're looking for. Only available on the Gamecube though.
idk man why not make your own series?
Pokemon exists because it's a MULTIMEDIA juggernaut that covers every age and every medium.
Making "pokemon for adults" is vague. You can absolutely go make a game that has new features, a different style and tone and add more complexity, but you probably won't attract pokemon fans. They're locked in because there's the anime, books, games, merchandise, nostalgia and other materials. Most don't even play games, they just play pokemon, they don't care about complexity or change. They don't care that pokemon is outdated because the only game that exists is pokemon.
Yes, because they’re children consooming children’s media, or manchildren consooming manchildren media. There’s a whole fan base that outgrew the children’s media but still loves Pokémon that they refuse to capitalize on, instead preferring to make the same game they’ve been making for over 25 years, only with less features, because children don’t know any befter and manchildren are shiteaters. Look at how successful Barbie, marvel, botw, etc., is/was there’s so much money to be made by expanding your audience to cater to the adults who outgrew it, even more so for the most popular franchise in the world, it’s just crazy they don’t do that.
Sometimes a genre has a monopoly with a stranglehold of the entire industry.
Another game that's a monopoly of its genre is sims. There's quite literally no other competitor to its formula, which means they don't need to update or change anything.
Some of the most egregious practices happen this way, there's over $1000 in DLC for sims because nickel and diming their customers won't have blowback because there's nowhere else to go for sims content.
if I were to guess, most people want passive content and games that play themselves. if you made a mature pokemon esque game you'd have to keep in mind that strategy games are very niche.
that's insane, I didn't realize.
But taking a quick guess you can figure that train simulator attracts rich old men with disposable income.
My (accurate) assumption of sims fans, most are women, varying between all ages. Many are mothers, many in college. Probably don't have enough disposable income, but enough to blow on a vampire dlc. That's what's cool about marketing.

I remember buying Sims 2 and it came with all DLC included.
Years later, I bought Sims 5. The base game had less content than base 2, and each DLC cost almost as much as the game.

>3D version of Sims 1's Unleashed neighborhood >More realistic, sweeping open neighborhood with more detailed geometry >...a slide from a corporate presentation about zoning permits?
the pokemon adventures manga is a bit more adult than the other media. its often conspiratorial and theres a decent amount of violence in the early arcs especially ones like yellow vs the elite 4. after gen 4 though it becomes really sanitized
The Dark Souls of Pokemon is SMT/Persona, or rather Pokemon is a kiddified version of SMT. There's also digimon which I've never played but the games generally get good word of mouth on Cinemaphile.
>why haven’t we gotten Pokémon dark souls/Skyrim
Monster Hunter may scratch this itch, it's an action game where you fight big monsters with increasingly crazy weapon and armor builds. Also there's an RPG spinoff that's literally a pokemon clone
The new Dragon Quest Monsters is coming out soon. It won't be more mature than pokemon but it'll be 100% better than their shit slop even if it's a middling title. Pokemon has been unbelievably bad for like a decade now but there are plenty of alternatives
Just like Cinemaphile. The fetishizers used to be a good laugh, but now they are the majority. They can literally just post about how cute the Mulatto from Boondocks is for weeks at a time
It IS a hat...but I still prefer to think of it as white hair since that's a more distinct character design and a headband is cooler than a fuzzy hair.

Gamefreak has gotten away with so much incompetence because the majority of pokemon fans just buy without thinking. I wish Sw/Sh forced their hand at developing a better game, yet it didn't.

SV made it easier than ever to hunt shinies, if one were to care about that. I never gave a shit.
>SV made it easier than ever to hunt shinies
Really? How so?
They introduced sandwiches in the game that increase your encounter rate for specific types of pokemon. One of the sandwiches is a "shiny" sandwiches
The shiny charm is also easier than ever to get.
And you can see pokemon in the over-world now, so you can just quick-save, approach, quick-load until you see a shiny
It's just a neat way of making certain pokemon special and showing off the palette swapping capabilities of the GBC.
Now making them as common as they are now is just pointless. They should add a ribbon or something that you can only get on shiny pokemon that were obtained at the full 1/8000 odds to trigger shiny hunters.

Pokemon went from cool/cute monster pals to furry bait for groomers and homosexuals and that's the real problem.

this pokemon is great for kids but i find the adult fandom a little sus

I initially chose her because the other grass types sucked dick. I was surprised how much I used her on my playthrough.

Pokemon Colosseum my dude. It's exactly what you're looking for. Only available on the Gamecube though.
Nah, colosseum is boring. It’s not open world, and it’s the same Pokémon gameplay we’ve been playing for almost 30 years

has any main pokemon game even come close to beating colosseum/XD or the duengeons series?
