    What's the big issue again?

The big issue is that neither Metallica nor Megadeth deserve to be in the big three if we look at their full output

megadeth does for rust in peace alone. metallica doesn't even have a good album. they have lots of good songs but not a whole solid album, don't care what anyone says. ride the lightning might of been close

All Metallica albums up to justice are the finest of the genre. I don't care what hipsters have to say. Megadeth instrumentals are ok but Dave should have let sing somebody that doesn't sound like a chicken being stabbed

he wrote 6 (probably 7-8 counting uncredited) out of metallicas first 18 tracks (3 albums). his influence is all over metallica and the genre itself. my favorite thing about megadeth is when you eventually realize the masterpiece that rust in peace is. it finally clicks and you understand why everyone praises it. it reminds me of how van halen 1 dropped and how groundbreaking that album was. would suggest taking a break and listening to more genres if it hasn't clicked for anyone yet. i listen to almost literally every genre including shit like mongolian throat singing or yodeling. my prespective is beyond most plebs here.

RiP was literally lightning in a bottle, we will never get anything close to that in thrash metal ever again.

They're both good songs. Both with Mustaine writing credits.

when it comes to metallica the riffs are the songs moron. kirk was also using his solos in later albums ontop of using the riffs. also it's thrash metal, the riffs are the songs be real. this is why dave was better and why rust in peace is a masterpiece. it had riffs, lyrics, storytelling, multiple time signatures in 1 song, etc. i could go on. holy wars shits on everything metallica has ever done

I've tried many times, but I just can't get into Rust in Peace. I mean, it's a solid 7/10 albums, but all of Metallica's first four mog it.

the bigger issue is that American metal is an inferior knockoff of the European Metal that inspired it

european metal is the definition of corny. it was just thin lizzy (which are fricking based and extremely underrated) with squealing vocalists. seriously, listen thin lizzy's discography (not the normie radio hits). european metal was founded on that tone, people say black sabbath but the tones are nothing alike.

You mean "hit", singular. The Boys Are Back In Town is the only one I've EVER heard get radio play.

Checked and BASES AF. More metalheads should check out the old kings in general: Blue Cheer, REO Speedwagon, any of those guys you know. Can only do the genre good.

It was being kicked out but also they used his material on Kill Em All and Ride the Lightning even though he didn't want them to. He wrote a different version of Four Horseman called the Mechanix on his debut album. The "feud" was resolved mostly in the 90s its just exasperated by fans. I've heard stories of fans going backstage and telling Mustaine shit about Metallica which I'm sure gets annoying.
