Agree, but 99 % of them never do anything in the real world. Most of it is just internal larping, and the few schizos that actually dare to act crazy would do it even if those characters never existed.

have you ever actually read the books those characters come from? Who is basing his character of off Patrick Bateman? Sigma weirdoes? Do they also go around manhattan tapdancing while high on xanax when they're not stuffing rats into dumb women's vegana's? Nah, they more than likely see christian bale being cool and classy and think "cool, I wanna be like that".
Even so, I suggest you actually read those books and ask yourself whether there is absolutely nothing in Bateman that you can relate to in any way. Ditto for Durden.

          Anonymous

People see these Patrick Bateman sigma edits and think they're unironic when most of them are self-aware and self-depricating just like all the other zoomer memes. Maybe there's a section of Bateman wannabes who are in their "Joker arc" as they would say, but most do it because it's funny and seeing milleanials lose their marbles because "ummmm didn't you know Bateman is actually A Bad Guy????" is honestly just them being out of touch.

Most girls literally just take shortcuts to understanding culture. My own sister never arches fight club but figured it was a bad movie because he ex bf liked it and he was a dumbass.
Which is fair, we all do shit like this, associating movies with ex's. But I explained it was a much better movie than she gives it credit for.

I think we're in an age where cult classics are being criticized simply out of spite. Maybe it's the fanbase or maybe it's difficult to get your hands on it so people would rather say it's bad than see if it's good.

            Anonymous

Liberal Zoomers subconsciously realize their generation’s cultural works are all shit. Because of this, they feel a compulsive need to prove that all the good stuff from the past “isn’t that good actually” so they can feel better about their slop.

Pre current year people understood that the appeal of Watchmen was the morally gray characters where the heroes sometimes do bad things and the villains sometimes have a point. And Rorscarch happened to be the fan favorite since he's cool and mysterious the only one against the villain's grand plan.
But in the current year that's not allowed. He's a stinky loser racist facist chud and you're bad for liking him. I can only thank The Media Literate for making art more nuanced, now I've seen the error of my ways.

    >Literally the only character in the entire cast whose against the idea of killing millions of citizens for a false flag operation meant to gaslight the world and blame an outside faction for all their problems (where have I seen that before IRL history?).

If anyone really supports Ozymandias's reasoning and think he's the good guy, then by that logic, it's perfectly admissible for the American government to bomb South Korea and gaslight the world into blaming North Korea for it, if it means South Korea and North Korea becomes reunited under South Korean rule after they invade the North with international and American support where then peace is attained as a result.

I don't think leftists generally care at all about ethics. They don't believe any of it is real anyway. "situational ethics" or basic consequentialist ethics always assumes that you can accurately predict the outcomes of every single action via some deterministic reasoning. So, you end up with stories like this one where the author basically plays god and says "if they don't do this then the world will literally fricking end!" to justify weird shit. You get this even more blatantly in stories like Dune where Frank Herbert literally gives the gary stu prescience to justify his actions (or to shame him for not following through with the plan). In real life however, prescience does not exist and all consequentialist ethics will just remain as a bunch of doomers and pshychos huffing their own farts.

      Anonymous

This. It's always weird seeing Leftists who hate the idea of God for having a consequentialist framework and hate objective morality, yet they side with fictional characters who operate on consequentialism because they think they're right and they hate characters who oppose them, because they believe these characters are morally right, despite most of them believing in moral relativism.

The comic itself suggests Ozymandias's plot wasn't going to work longterm. They're only going to stand down from hostilities for so long before they start to question it, especially when another alien doesn't show up. Rorschach represents black-and-white morality, ie bad people are always bad, they should be killed, and killing a million innocents for the supposed greater good is bad. Ozymandias represented the opposite. It's almost like how you look at this stuff is a Rorschach test for your own ethics.
