everywhere i go online people are saying it was the best movie of the year or some shit. id feel like i'm taking god damn crazy pills, but thankfully most people i talk to in person hated it. wtf is going on? are the only people that like this just people of onions desperate to suck some black hack dick?

Consoomers can't bring themselves to say "there were no good movies made this year"
but the northman came out this year.
jesus christ i forgot about that garbage
I kept hearing that the altright liked it though
shut the frick up moron
it was a bad movie and you type like a homo
What a disappointing pile of trash
i was about to call you out but shit i think you're right.
If you say anything bad about Jordan Peele movies they think you're racist. It's fricking stupid.
have a nice day smfh
This. Jordan Peele is their pseudo intellectual black Kubrick lmfao. He’s shit and the only decent movie he made was Get Out and no one will admit he’s trash because… clown world.
yes i never see any racism on Cinemaphile
It kinda is
i hate that man
Black person
me too anon.
Jordan proved you don't have to make a good film
Keke can receive my pee pee, if you catch my drift.
I want to shoot my load all over her breasts and pretend I'm frosting a burnt poptart
vore
I enjoyed nope more than his previous films. Am I dum?
it's not the best movie of the year but it is Peele's best film and is generally pretty good
but that's what i thought
some people didn't like the inclusion of the subplot, some didn't like the twist, some didn't like the genre jumps
also it's not very tightly written, so there are some logical flaws and shit but I don't really care about those most of the time
>so there are some logical flaws
like what?
Spoilers if you haven't seen it but:
Well I've seen people complaining about the alien not being found out by meteorologists before.
Also some people are confused at how it kills the prey, is it slow or does it crush it fast. The horse inside the alien was seemingly disgested but it crushed the people and poured their blood on the house later. I personally think it really can do both or maybe it simulated the screams for intimidation.
People are generally confused about how the alien works and it's level of intellegence. But again personally I think being an alien organism it doesn't have to work on human logic, it can be unpredictable. The rules were only assumed by the characters.
>Well I've seen people complaining about the alien not being found out by meteorologists before.
I dont know shit about meteorology, but why would meteorologists care about an object in the sky like that? It was all that big, compared to a ballon or water tank. We're assuming it can be seen via radar, but still it could be any number of things
Good post.
>FROM THE SICK TWISTED MIND OF ... some rando on the internet ...
https://scp-wiki.wikidot.com/scp-312
>So long as this core remains unobserved, SCP-312 will remain docile, and seems capable of surviving indefinitely without feeding, although feedings do increase its mass and movement speed as well as the number [REDACTED]. However, if a prey animal makes eye contact with the core, SCP-312 will become active, generating a narrow, controlled vortex with the appearance of a long tube of cloud connecting the lenticular cloud above with the ground.
Plagiarism is offensive.
This bullshit again?
What's bullshit about it, Satan?
>Random 3 paragraph article on a site full of those with some similarities
>Its a rip off!
I bet you also think lion king ripped off kimba you midwit
Yeah, because two stories starring mildly anthropomorphized lions and two stories featuring a sky jellyfish with cloud camo that only attacks people who look at its "core" and sucks them up in a vortex are exactly the same.
Mid movie. Jk that's just your slang. 7/10 and that isn't just to be negative.
Annoying keke and shit ass at acting black cowboy was terrible casting tho. They could have easily just made Jupe MC and nothing would have been lost, alot would make more sense with the symbolic elements set up.
My friends and I were the only people in the theater last night.
No one is watching this movie.
For Jordan's next movie he should try using a pseudonym to see how he'd truly be received by the same people who give him a 9 on a curve..
Kwabh
>there’s shills everywhere online
Yea no shit.
it actually is the best movie i've seen from this year, but thats mostly cause every other one has been bad (northman included yes). us is one of the worst movies ive ever seen, but this one is pretty compelling and well done, and even tho it gets kinda moronic by the end it has more than enough to make up for it.
>it actually is the best movie i've seen from this year
then you must have missed top gun
It's definitely not the best film of the year but I enjoyed it a lot. This board is going to hate it no matter what and if you're honestly looking for objectivity you have to take that into account. If you want a circlejerk loving it, check out Twitter/letterboxed. If you want a circlejerk trashing it then yeah you're in the right place.
This 10 centilitres of shit is a total ripoff of Laura Queen of Earth by Alexander Gordon Jahans.
Best 2022 movies imo:
1. Top gun
2. Everything everywhere all at once
3. The batman
4. Nope
5. The Northman
Unironically pretty good list. Idk about batman though.
You forgot the Elvis movie
Meh didn’t really care for it.
>2. Everything everywhere all at once
i mean it was decent but it was easily the worst A24 film i've seen.
normie core but I can't make my own list because pretty much nothing i wanted to watch is on torrents except some films from the Berlin festival i think
saying that Nope and Top Gun were indeed good
I haven't seen The Northman because it just looked so grey but I probably will
i don't care for yet another Batman film and I'm sick of capeshit, Everything Everywhere was completely....okay but I wouldn't rate it over an 8/10
>but I wouldn't rate it over an 8/10
I should hope so if you call it "okay". An "okay" shouldn't be above a 6.
I wanted to say 7/10, that was a mistake
7 is okay for me, 6 is above average, 5 completely average and sometimes close to bad
Yeah my list is def normie — that’s prob because those are the best movies I’ve seen in theaters this year. I go to the theater every Tuesday, they do $5 tickets. I’ve seen a lotta dog shit but those 5 movies really stick out in my mind
>the batman
Fricking hell the frick outta here, that movies was lame as shit
Disagree I think its top 3 batman movies behind ‘89 and the dark knight
Cool story pleb
the letterboxd reviews are unreal. maybe I've lost touch but I seriously don't get how people are giving this movie 5 stars as if they won't forget about it within a week. it was seriously so forgettable and it felt so goddamn long and slow despite being just over two hours.
I thought it was actually one of the most memorable recent films. The twist is cool, the alien design is great. The scene with the UFO chase was a genuinely exciting action piece. Didn't feel long to me at all too. But the film did split the board and not only because muh Black folk so I guess it is a divisive film.
I disagree with the letterboxed fellating, but it felt like the first movie in a long time that stuck with me for a while, and it was actually interesting to discuss with people and hear different takes.
Get Out was so on the nose, and there's moments in this one that feel as blatant (TMZ reporter) but overall it holds your hand so much less and let's you just think about it.
You're just used to mid films. I get that letterboxd is inflatings ratings, but it got the point where everything would get 3.5 to 4. 2020 and 2021 were basically dumping ground for February type movies: average, non-offensive, and brain dead. Finally, 2022 is a decent year and normies are going ape shit. Its understandable after they were meme'd into thinking bland DUNC was good.
>anon sees astroturfing for the very first time.
>online people
Take a wild guess
BTW this movie will not turn a profit.
it has already made 80 million and probably will get 100 million by the end of the week on a budget of 68 million, and marketing probably at like 10
Still not profitable, and that's even before going into the fact that massive publicity for it probably hasn't cost only US 10 mil.
>Massive publicity
Mostly comes from Peele's name and race only. A lot of marketing has been online with the most expensive thing being that town they built. But even that I think actually counts into the 68 million budget as it was the set for the film.
Most of the marketing is just posters and trailers.
Literally no one saw it. All the consoomers at work haven't even heard of it and they always consoom the new thing.
people online live to troll right wing people, even other ones. and they assume that they dont like this movie so they all pretend that its the best
I feel like I'm going insane as well, it was the most mediocre boring film I've seen in a long time.
Where. Is the fricking. Camrip?
Holy shit this is the longest I've seen for even a shitty half drunken filmed phone cam rip. The stagnated release of this film has spoiled it for everyone interested already.
why would you intentionally watch a movie in just about the worst way possible?
you're definitely not alone, especially considering most of those 5 stars are paid for shills/bots
>everywhere i go online people are saying it was the best movie of the year or some shit. i
bots
Bigotry of low expectations. White Liberals applaud blacks when they can tie their shoe laces, because their opinion is so low of them
