As homoerotic as prison culture is in the states, no doubt there's some really gay ass OC Black folks out there. Mouzone really was a stretch though, I have to admit.
>Mouzone really was a stretch though, I have to admit.
I've never understood this statement from /misc/. Is it that you hate black people so much that you can't see a character like that existing or is it that your interaction with them is so minimal that imagining such a character existing is implausible? The former case applies to boomers in big cities who have had negative experiences with them while the latter seems more like zoomers who have inherited the biases of their small communities and can't think for themselves. inb4 some retarded ad hominem, i'd really like to see how you support your argument without resorting to calling me names.
>flamboyant bow tie wearing assassin Black folks
Exept he was based on the armed arm of the nation of islam, which in fact weared suits and had skilled assasins. Some of them also had involvement on organized crime, they also worked with the cia to kill malcom X and were pretty active till the 90s. Its obviously exagerated but not that wacky if you are black in east usa or know some US history
The Fifth season should’ve followed idealized young police officers (new graduates), who wanted to make a difference, and then became completely cynical after witnessing horrific crimes and behaviors committed by black people.
McNulty and Bunk would’ve been like their mentors/superiors in the departments.
Instead we got fat journalists (bad white guy, good black guy) and a dumb homeless murderer subplot.
The homeless serial killer subplot was probably the weakest part of the season, but at the same time it was really entertaining to finally see McNulty going unhinged.
McNulty was unhinged since season 2 anon. Season 5 is just when he managed to get Carver into his shenanigans and Carver is a fucking genius so he was able to make the scheme even bigger.
it was more nuanced than that. the city itself keeps on chugging, but what they did mattered, it kept shit just barely afloat. the idea is that this process is a thankless one which will go on indefinitely until the city collapses, but for their small part in that story they did good
I liked the ending. Cynical but realistic. I especially enjoyed that Marlo got everything Stringer wanted but rejected it all for his dumb street life
I’m convinced the vitriol towards S5 is entirely driven by butthurt journalists who were appalled that they were the institution being targeted by the show’s deconstructionist lens that season
“How dare you suggest the news media would be easily fooled by manufactured crises and narratives”
>butthurt journalists who were appalled that they were the institution being targeted by the show’s deconstructionist lens that season
The show is way too sympathetic toward the journalists, and Gus is clearly a blatant self-insert for David Simon.
It's not "Haha, dumb journos", it's "Oh nooooo, the poor heckin journorinos are getting left behind by technology"
>Oh nooooo, the poor heckin journorinos are getting left behind by technology
Was that really the take-away? I think the whole season just goes to show that their "tribe" is exactly the same as every other one shown (police, teachers, politicians). Just full of cunts and schemers.
after S2 this show becomes horrendously unsatisfying >just like life mannnnn
no, I mean it gets worse, everything the show had to say had already been said, Generation Kill is far far superior
>Filtered
Just like real life, especially real life in Baltimore
Things do and have changed in Baltimore though
Jesus what a shithole.
You got to give it to him on The Wire (and Generation Kill) though, he doesn't sugarcoat things.
it is a complete and unsalvageable shithole
it needs to be demolished
I went there over 30 times over 9 years for business. The city is dying to the point Fells Point is a shit hole.
>fells point
What is that the greek neighborhood?
Sure, it’s gotten worse and it’s “no one is to blame”
FUCK YOU BALTIMORE!
Verification not required.
>Verification not required.
Why do anons bother to mention this? It's not noteworthy.
>Stories with shit endings are great because that's what happens irl!
Just admit you got filtered and move the fuck on.
in real life do they have magical crime fighting homosexual Black folks and flamboyant bow tie wearing assassin Black folks?
As homoerotic as prison culture is in the states, no doubt there's some really gay ass OC Black folks out there. Mouzone really was a stretch though, I have to admit.

I never thought he was too far of a stretch. Has /misc/ never heard of the fucking Nation of Islam?

You make a good point, given how much they sensationalize Omar, Mouzone isn't half bad now that I think about it.
Kino
Sorry they couldn't give you a Marvel explosion ending where the bad guy was defeated with a joke.
That would have been kino
McNulty should have fought Marlo on top of an 18 wheeler
The best part of this show is the fact that Baltimore has gotten worse, and David Simon is a retard Leftist Democrat.

fucking racist ass cracka don't you mean freamon or do all brothers just blend into one for you?
>Carver
Retard

>"A life, Jimmy, you know what that is? It’s the shit that happens when you’re waiting for the things that never come.”
it do be like dat tho
Why is hood talk so kino, b?
That's young Aaron Barksdale?
That's B
You’re right, all the characters should have defeated Crime at the end
It's the truth.
what's baltimore like 20 years later
Baltimoreans please answer this
Watch We Own This City.
I watched but I cannot deaw any conclusions
The whole thing is basically a condensed version of s4-5 of The Wire, that should tell you enough.
I liked the ending. Cynical but realistic. I especially enjoyed that Marlo got everything Stringer wanted but rejected it all for his dumb street life

the serial killer shit was really dumb but to be fair so was the “all drug selling is legal on this street” plot

YO B
Is the Wire any good? I never watched it.
Pure kino. Top 5 show.
it probably is, but based on the fact that it's about blacks, who i can't stand, i shant be watching it.
Number 1 favorite show
Rawest and most real of the golden HBO era, though some might still argue that the likes of Rome or Sopranos is more kino. Easily top 5 though.
When you become an adult (mentally) you'll realize the truth in it
The Wire is a trash show libs think is reality
