for me, this cast works because of how individualistic everyone in the squad is. Especially if you include all of Dragon Ball so the humans all have great characterization.
Every single member has their own style and personality, yet they all come together so well. And design wise, Toriyama cant be beat; everyone is so fricking iconic and stylistic.
For me, the peak lineup is android saga. Youve got trunks and vegeta as super saiyans, right at the end you get piccolo as a temporary earth's strongest, and it feels like practically everyone can still be involved.

GT was so bad even the most die hard fans of DBZ at it's peak in the early 00s STILL hated GT. It is the black sheep of the entire franchise. The lazy ass team over at Toei had no fricking clue what to do with any of the characters, none of them had ANY idea how to choreograph fight scenes like Toriyama did which is why GT has NO memorable fights whatsoever. The only thing the series did right was design some pretty cool looking villains but ultimately they were wasted due to bad writing and shitty fights scenes. It is laughably bad and anyone who says otherwise has never watched it or only ever seen it one time as a kid back when they were moronic and didn't know any better.

They are almost equal in quality, but the introduction of Trunks, the SSJ2 saga with Gohan at the forefront, and Kakarot's sacrifice for his son really made this arc stand out for me. The androids were also cool as frick too.

Dragon Ball was so full of soul. The tournament arcs with Jackie Chun, the Crane school and Piccolo Jr. were peak DB. Tournaments in general have always been the best parts of DB. DBZ has nothing as well animated as Yusuke vs the doctor. They both fall off hard in the final arc but I like Yu Yu Hakusho's cast and their interactions better even into the chapter black.

There is some merit to what he's saying. Italian VAs for example take their job very seriously and try to sound like the original actors most of the time.

Bro why do secondaries in this thread not understand Goku's character? Goku has always been a goofy moron who cares more about fighting stronger enemies than anything else. We're talking about a guy who raised himself in a jungle by himself with no education until he was a teenager when he met Bulma. Literally couldn't even tell the difference between a boy and girl until he was 15 years old and that was only because he would pat people on their crotches to confirm it. It's an oversimplification. Goku is dumb yes but he is also pure and selfless. In the red ribbon saga Goku gets the 4 star ball which is the only one he wanted, but collects the rest of them to wish back upas dad despite their being no promise of strong guys to fight. In the saiyan saga Goku point blank says that he is terrified and not excited to fight Raditiz, but is doing it so he can get his son back. There's a lot of times in DBZ that he is written to be wise as well, it's just annoying that people act like Goku never developed past the 1st hunt for the dragon ball saga
That's the thing though, Goku has done plenty of good deeds but he doesn't help people because he is good or in the case of Gohan he didn't save him because of some fatherly affection for his boy. These are actions that are dictated by his disgust of enemies who show unnecessary cruelty to others.

GT is like the prequels of Dragon Ball. You can bring elements of it in to other media, such as SSJ4 in FighterZ but you can never go back to and explore that world fully. Fans basically ruined any chance of it happening. Super is what the majority of fans wanted. Another multiverse, timeline travel slop that just needs to have Goku at the forefront having as many transformations as possible for the pop off moments so they could talk about it online and get likes.
Super was a mistake, nothing about it was slightly good.

Of course it will continue. It makes too much money. Daima is the last animated Dragon Ball project under Shueisha, all animated projects going forward will be handled by Capsule Corp Tokyo and Iyoku. He already announced 10 years of anime and movies after Daima.
