Now that superhero movies are finally starting to die just like westerns, war movies and young adult book adaptations did after their peak, what genre you think will take its place?

I think capeshit is the dying gasp of the West's/America's declining cultural relevance and output. By the point capeshit really dies things will be so destabilized and degraded in the West that "big" cultural movements in our cinema won't be possible anymore. Also, social media-induced ADHD has become so bad that people can't even watch 30-second YT shorts until the end, let alone movies. I don't think capeshit will be replaced by anything, things will shift to pozzed adaptations of famous IPOs, comics and books on streaming services until the eventual collapse of western culture and its replacement by other countries, like India or China. Add to that the declining white population of the world, and American studios already beginning to pander to non-westerners due to their markets getting bigger, and things look pretty bad.

100% this, there is no future for cinema, movies themselves will become an outdated form of entertainment like theater.

America is not the entire western.

As much as I want their death, aren't they still doing fantastic numbers?

You "muh numbers" gays are the worst. Do you not realize people will still keep watching shit past the point of not being that into it just because people like watching movies? If the average person wants to go see something but doesn't have anything they're particularly excited for they just pick whatever sound the least moronic and that's what they see. Sales numbers do not reflect overall public opinion. Also because of the fact that you have to pay for the ticket before you've seen the movie.

After watching the trailer for Black Panther 2 there is no way this shit is dead yet. They're leaning heavily into the emotional aspect. Every single Black in the US will pay to see Black Panther 2.

What, you don’t remember the scene where Dr. Erskine says he’s choosing Steve to get the super soldier serum because he’s the only blonde one?

          Anonymous

I remember Steve getting the himbo shot because he showed courage, not because of his race. Kind of like if you gave the shield to some guy just to pander to black people, and then never even show him going through any kind of adversity, making him impossible to like unless if you automatically associate that race with good.

    Videogames and anime adaptations.

The studios know that is basically what young people consume nowadays. Well that and streamers, but you can't make too many movies about that subject.

What the frick are half these things? Echo? Thunderbolts? Agatha? Who the ever loving frick is clamoring for any of this anymore? There is clearly zero semblance of cohesion anymore (not that there ever was). It’s just before they could pretend there was some “big” conclusion.

My dad grew up in the 50s and to this day he still watches westerns, both movies and tv shows, and any new ones that come out. Millennials and gen z will be watching capeshit till the day they die.

      Spaghetti westerns are nice.
Modern westerns are just action schlock with CoD guns.

What "modern westerns" are even getting made? I feel like I just read a critique of something that doesn't exist.

It's pretty funny seeing jaded millennials team up with zoomers to dunk on capeshit while they don't realize that zoomers aren't making fun of capeshit because they want cinema back... they just think all movies are lame and only want to consume tiktok, livestreams, and fast media.
