A few weeks ago I was at a neighbor’s house with a bunch of other couples in the neighborhood. A few of the guys I like a lot: one is definitely a bit of a onions, one has crazy hooker stories and the other is very handy and has every tool you’d ever want.
I shit you not but at one point in the night these guys and others were talking about how great Reddit is, the only social media they “literally need” and how it’s better than others because of moderation. I hide my power but I practically had to keep my jaw from dropping, it was the most onions thing I’d ever witnessed IRL.
It was almost shocking to hear grown men raving about Reddit IRL. They wouldn’t stop and I contributed nothing to the conversation besides “oh ya I’ve checked it out when I was moving here but never got into it” and just stood back taking it all in. One guy’s wife even said she was “addicted to Reddit” it was fricked.
I had a bit to drink and was tempted to say “have you guys heard of the Cinemaphile?” to see their reaction but I didn’t want to go there.
I heard a very similar discussion at an extended family gathering, how important leddit is for free speech and intelligent discussion
A lot of people think I’m extreme because I am unapologetically about free speech. I remember this perspective was considered the norm in early 2000s among educated people, now it’s considered “a dog whistle”
it’s a shitty website full of smug idiots that talk a lot without having anything substantial to say. imagine every annoying homosexual you’ve ever met in a council together concurring one another’s opinions on how god is bad and porn is great. it’s the worst website.
it has its uses, probably one of the best sites for shit like product reviews. the most visible parts of the site are complete dogshit though, no arguments there
I unironcally did the silicon valley startup thing during that era and the first couple of seasons are very solid satire on the whole low-interest rate/free money tech startup scene.
The niche sub reddits are still good until they get to a certain growth stage and turn to shit. Check out the /r/fosscad for a good example.
Ehrlich? He didn't quit. He was canned for showing up drunk/late to set repeatedly. The dude is a schizo. He called in a bomb threat to Amtrak while riding on a train.
He was hard to work with but they offered him a reduced role and he said nah

So did his poor conduct on this show ruin his career or was it the rape allegations andEmoji Movie?
I looked for every lewd amanda crew moment there's like one scene where she wears a skirt below the knee, and maybe 2 good shots of her ass fully clothed, one where she takes off her shoes, and one scene where she uses the word frick in a sexual context, in the entire show
the only thing about this show is maybe take a break between each season, because the characters succeed and fail in a cycle and it exasperates the problem
Silicon Valley was ok at best. Just kind of funny. Losing the autistic CEO (guy who died) was bad. He was great. He worked well with his nemesis competitor CEO. show had poor writing, unfortunately. I also didn't like that skinny brunette with the vocal fry.
this isn't your opinion. it is verbatim some tryhard redditor's opinion he in turn stole form the av club. pathetic you're just parroting this shit to feel special.
tj miller leaving was the last nail in the coffin, but even before that it was getting a bit repetitive. you can only do the "holy shit we're gonna lose the company" thing so many times before it just gets tiresome
It certainly leaned more towards the drama side of things but there were comedic moments, just nothing over-the-top like Silicon Valley had. Also too much depressive whining about relationships, which was more realistic, but far less fun to watch. The worst sin was that the two main founders of the company were charisma black holes that you had no reason to cheer for good things to happen to.
Like most good shows, it had ~1.5 seasons of kino followed by pure schlock that lazily tried to cash in on the early success
This
It's insane how many shows would have been better if they stuck to 1 or 2 seasons
This is where the UK gets it right. Having most shows be 8 episode season one and dones don't let them end up being contrived.
Nah it was good until the end. 1+2 were best but still solid all the way through. Ended perfectly
Found the redditor.
this is probably the most reddit show in history
the site itself gets namedropped multiple times, and occasionally a character will even have a reddit sticker on screen
they also employed Jessica Gao as a writer, though I like those episodes but still

yeah every time i think i meet a normie i could be friends with something like that happens

Rules 1 and 2 you absolute newbie
Did you notice how I said I didn’t bring it up?

What's wrong with reddit?

Sounds like here

You are on the spectrum

Cinemaphile got name-dropped on Succession a couple times too.
Wow a show about internet mentions the biggest website? Color me shocked.
>reddit spacing
started out good, fell into a repetitive loop and became unfunnier over time
Indian guy is wearing Vivian James' shirt.
Funniest guy on the show quit before they filmed the final season
Pot humor grows tiresome quickly unless you're yourself a pothead.

Sounds like cope from Miller
So did his poor conduct on this show ruin his career or was it the rape allegations andEmoji Movie?
>couldn't handle the banter
Losers
>deletes seasons 3+4
much better
there's really no difference in quality from s2 on, except the last season
I actually think this show has weirdly aged like wine since it wrapped up
I feel the same way. The later seasons seemed shit as new episodes were coming out, but on rewatch it was decent.
I really feel they fricked up by making the ending cheesy, sappy and typical when they had an opportunity to destroy the planet
there's not much coomer content in this show
I looked for every lewd amanda crew moment there's like one scene where she wears a skirt below the knee, and maybe 2 good shots of her ass fully clothed, one where she takes off her shoes, and one scene where she uses the word frick in a sexual context, in the entire show
AT&T Haunted Womb woman is in it, though only for part of a season.
so what i'm hearing is watch 1 and 2 then the last season?
It's pretty much the same plot every episode.
>recovering from fixing the last issue
>but wait now there's another company ending existential issue
>fixes issue
>tune in next time!
the only thing about this show is maybe take a break between each season, because the characters succeed and fail in a cycle and it exasperates the problem
people that do that shit are fricking moronic. no. watch it all and make your own goddamn opinion you fricking npcoid.

I despise the actor but losing Erlich really fricked up the balance of the show.

It’s kino.

Why did the Amazon version of the show fail so quickly?

Wokeshit + not funny i assume

It was funny
