The second statement dealt with a specific incident that alledged a small-scale conspiracy relating to that specific event. It was found Waldman made that statement in a way that hurt Heard's career but not that he damaged her reputation (i.e. "you lost work because he put out a story he couldn't prove--but what he was saying about you, in general, was true").

They basically ignored demands from most of the American media (WaPo, Harpers, The Intercept) to substantiate a story about Assange that was obviously invented, including from Glenn Greenwald is the only person to have ever won a Pulitzer at the Guardian. The editor wouldn't return his calls and the article's author vanished from social media. Its murky as frick because one of the authors of the article had his name removed from the piece altogether (Ecuadorian spook it seems, there are pictures of him partying with the piece's other author).
