I don't need to have seen either to know they're both worse than mediocre. Get taste.
Barbie won multiple 2023 Wikifeet awards. It's kino.
Yes Barbie is certified feet kino of the decade, Oppenheimer it's all around shit like every Nolan slop
I liked oppenheimer
barbenheimer was the biggest hollywood psyop since James Cameron lost best picture to his fricking ex-wife
>Avatargay still mad his shit movie wasn't taken serious by anyone above the age of 15
thinking oppenheimer was bad is the ultimate bullshit contrarian take
You only think it's good because it's telling the story of something you already care about. That's how a biopic works, it's just reminding you that something was significant for like 3 hours. If the story wasn't true, you wouldn't give 2 shits about this movie. It's like an emotional piggyback, when people are saying the movie was great, they're just saying "the creation of nuclear weapons was a significant event in human history."
if this were true, musician biopics would all be as good as Amadeus.
not a biopic
Amadeus is great in spite of it being a biopic. It only works because it avoids the trappings of the genre and transcends it to become a film that stands on its own merits. This is an example of a movie that would work even if it wasn't true (which it isn't really, showing the director cared more about what's important in a real film vs a wanky biopic).
>You only think it's good because it's telling the story of something you already care about
I didn't give a shit about Oppenheimer and actually thought it was a boring topic for Nolan handle. I was one of those people who said he should made interesting high concept films even if they're messy like TENET. But I was pleasantly surprised by the film and it's not even due to being blown away by the theatrical experience of it since I watched it on my laptop.
Didn't watch Barbie and never will though.
>it's not even due to being blown away by the theatrical experience of it since I watched it on my laptop.
You missed out.
Yeah, I shouldn't have listened to Cinemaphile on this one but Nolan flicks get routine re-releases here. I'll catch it again then.
It was atrocious, some of the worst editing and pacing I've seen, everyone who called it a 3 hour trailer is absolutely right.
it was though
nolan sucks. simple as.
you lack media literacy. back to plebbit
yeah, you're a jeet lmfao
Based. Anti-Nolan contrarians are like early internet atheists. Cringe and outdated.
I watched Oppenheimer 3 times at 3 different theatres with IMAX 70mm showings. Each one was a little different but damn was it worth it and a benefit of living in Los Angeles at the time.
Yeah they tried to run with it but most people I know only watched one in theatre and the other digitally.
It wasn't bad but not good either. It's a movie I won't watch twice, but I was entertained so I can't complain.
Didn't see Barbie but Oppenheimer was weak. Biopics suck, they always are way too up their own ass and they don't tell their story in any kind of logical way, they take the accomplishments of important people (more or less, depending on the subject) and take away all their agency to make it seem like some grandiose, predestined thing that biblically had to happen. Eveything just drips with significance, every line is just a wink at the audience like "whoa, we're getting closer to the thing they're famous for, aren't you excited?" Music biopics are the absolute worst genre on the face of the planet but a lot of what makes them bad still applies to historical biopics too, admittedly minus the record company who owns their music catalogue desperately screaming at you through the screen to go give them more money after the movie's over.
Screenshotted this
Never before hace I do accurately seen someone describe why I dislike biopics
truth
But anon we need our messiahs
Already forgotten about like the Mario movie.
oppy was pure kino
barbie was pure slop
These boo-boos have nice boo-boos, if you catch my drift. I think it will have big implications for the film industry.
>t. golbergsteinowitz
I still haven't watched either of them and not planning to
no. they were both trash
no oppenheimer was kino
Oppenheimer was good.
No blacks, women sidelined
Haven't seen Barbie
You most definitely should seen it then. It's going to be a ride
