They self-financed and filmed it to be web only but Netflix bought it after it was already shot + edited. Probably b/c they had the analytics for Shane's netflix special and how little it cost. S2 is already confirmed.

This show is the definition of "Safe Edgy." I only got ten minutes into the first episode before getting bored.

      Anonymous

      >Safe Edgy
It's literally not though. Safe edgy is when R rated shows throw around a bunch of generic curse words thinking that's what edgy is. Tires blatantly makes fun of black people, asian people, dropping words like gay with no consequences. We haven't seen shit like that from a mainstream comedy show in years.

People don’t want to admit Tires sucks. Yes it’s not woke and in some ways it’s refreshing to watch a show that doesn’t have an agenda but all it does is bring you back to a meh sitcom that would’ve launched on Comedy Central at 11pm back in like 2010 before getting cancelled

Exactly. Just because you like Shane doesn't mean you have to pretend to be entertained by what is a completely forgettable attempt at a sitcom.

Why are you forcing your own shitty opinions on other people and pretending your stating something factual? If you don't like a show then whatever but to create this narrative that other people have to not like it or pretend that they do like it because of some dumb headcanon you thought up is completely moronic. Get off Cinemaphile for a few days because it's rotting your brain

That's a dumb argument. I love Chris Rock's comedy but hate every movie he's ever been in and it's the same shit with everyone else. No one is pretending to like a show because they like Shane. They just like the show. It's not hard to comprehend. It has funny shit in it.

What did Shane Gillis mean by this?

I can't articulate exactly how I know for sure without just going on a tangent, but I know for a fact that this guy is an insecure weird moron homosexual Black person.
I know for a fact that he cannot think that deeply and be very aware, not like how Louis CK can.
People compare the two like he's the replacement. This guy isn't half of what the greats are. He's just a pudgy annoying potato guy.
I remember some tweet saying "yeah you're a shane gills fan" when someone got mad at the word Black person but used the word moronic and it summarized Shane more than anything else I have seen.

He's a turbo doorknob liberal gayhole who can't handle being real.

It's just a victim of being higher profile than it should be due to Shane's sudden popularity as a stand-up. It's literally what should be self-funded YouTube frick-a-round show written by people who aren't writers, shot by people who aren't TV makers and starring people who aren't actors, the entire drive behind the show is Shane and McKeever think their autistic cripple friend makes a good punchline (which he does). And on that metric it's perfectly fine, but people are expecting It's Always Sunny or The Office level writing/acting or something just because it's on Netflix

Shane ranged from good to pretty good but he's leaned hard into the "dude black people dude black dicks haha I'm so sexually inadequate not like cool big dicked black guys" cuck bullshit. It wasn't just the one joke it was ongoing throughout his second special. Then he ends his SNL monologue with the utopic rainbow society imagined scenario of three black kids beating up some young white kid for calling a downie a moron like the picture of "racism being solved" is just that in his head. Because he apparently has some woke moron relatives who adopted a bunch of blacks or something.

Shane sold out and went homosexual, honestly. He doesn't need to hate blacks or whatever but reaching for that low hanging zeitgeist type pandering groid loving cuck shit is pathetic uncreative disgusting garbage.

Seems to be mostly people who've been following MSSP for a long time and are upset about him self-censoring and pretending to be a cuck. Shane is still one of the funniest modern comedians, but in order to become mainstream and land netflix deals he had to tone his jokes down a lot and play into the cuck persona to expand his audience and make himself more palatable to liberals. He talked about this a lot in the early days when they were poor as shit and only had a few thousand subscriber. A lot of people view it as him selling out, but every single person on this board would do the same thing if that was what it took to go from being poor to making tens of millions of dollars

        t. been listening to the podcast for 7 years. it's still funny relative to everything else but it's garbage compared to what it was 4+ years ago

because it's a self funded show featuring mostly Shane's Philly friends and comedians while those guys are in LA. Plus I imagine he's not close friends with them. He's closer to the Legion of bawds guys more than Tom and Bert and none of them are in the show either.

I like it. Shane is living the kind of life I dream up but haven't gotten off my ass to do. I'd love to have a show where the premise is me supporting my best fricking friends and essentially making sure my boys can eat and make some money and some exposure using me as a platform while making a show about fricking whatever and having fun while doing it. With Shane doing the whole "cut seasons in half" thing? I can't see him committing to this for longer than three Seasons. If he shits out a fourth and hasn't lost team or imagination then kudos but I don't see it.

I like it, because I like Shane and his style of humor. It wasn't like he wasn't not going to get me. But with this coming out of his pocket I wonder, really wonder, what the frick he wants to do with a TV show. Louis' show had something going for it. A kind of message about...life and shit that got him awards and clout. I wonder if Shane is at that point in his life where he would want something like this to "say something". I mean, it totally doesn't fricking have to.
