Oct. 2021 Info:
> MCU Sinister Six is the directive from Sony. Kraven is expected to be the leader and one pitch has him assembling the Six after his solo hunt for Spider-Man fails.
> Kevin Feige is personally pushing for Hobgoblin while Sony is pushing for Venom.
> Marvel Studios is pushing for Hobgoblin as Sony wants a goblin character but both agree Green Goblin has been done to death.
> Sony wants Spider-Man films to continue with Avengers-like crossovers while Marvel Studios prefers narrowing the films to more Spidey only characters.
> Tom Holland personally advocated to Sony about Kraven the Hunter and wants a Kraven’s Last Hunt type of film.
> The sequel trilogy has a lot of influence from The Master Planner saga, Kraven’s Last Hunt, The Gauntlet, and Grim Hunt throughout early pitches.
> Marvel Studios had interest in a gang war NYC based story for Spider-Man. Spider-Slayers or Scorpion (the "spider-slayer") was mentioned for a final battle. Sony pushed back heavily

New Info:
> There is still a tug of war between Sony & Marvel Studios regarding the Spider-Man 4 villain.
> Marvel Studios wants to write a strong story and then find a supervillain that compliments Peter's character arc...Sony wants to insert certain characters and write the story around that.
> Sony wants Harry Osborn in the college trilogy, I heard one pitch included a character named Theo who would be revealed as Harry using another name.
> Zendaya 100% will return but the idea seems to be a minor appearance in SM4
> Marvel and Sony have received the pitches they want to build around.
> The strongest pitch I've heard was a blend of The Master Planner saga & Original Hobgoblin Saga. Sony wasn't a fan but Marvel Studios' brain trust held it in high regard when shared with Watts and Holland.

Looks like they're doing Gwen Stacy, boys.

Or maybe just Betty Brant, who's literally just notGwen in the MCU.

I can already guarantee there'll be drama with MJ recovering her memories right ad Peter feels he can move on and get with someone else.

Emphasis on "SM4" though. I severely doubt that Spider-Man, their biggest cashcow right now in a sea of failures, will only get one more movie. Most likely, she'll still be the endgame. Hell, I bet her "minor appearance" is supposed to be the end-credits stinger. SM4 will most likely just be an attempt to do Spidey solo and set up the rest of his next trilogy, so more characters like Harry and less characters like Ned.

Get a load of this gay. To redeem Hobgoblin means to rewrite him completely and changing those godawful final twists. No one wants comic Hobgoblin. At least the later one after they had changed writers.

Most people don't even want that Hobgoblin when they could have Norman instead. After the mystery was over he didn't really have anything unique or interesting to offer. I'm not sure Spider-Man movies should even try to pull off a mystery villain plot in a single movie.

Hob Goblin is less insane and acts less on his lowest impulses. He's smarter than Green Goblin too. At least that was how he was initially portrayed.

Why is Sony so obsessed with Kraven anyway? Out of all Spider-Man villains, why is Kraven such a high priority for him? Sure Kraven's kind of one of the "bigger" unused villains from Spider-Man's rogues gallery, but half the time he's kind of a joke and the other half they have to take bizarre leaps of logic in order to make him threatening.

Everyone loves Kraven's Last Hunt, and it was cool to be sure, but it's also kinda nonsense.

It's like how live-action and animated X-Men adaptations are obsessed with doing Dark Phoenix Saga every time. Kraven's Last Hunt is one of the most acclaimed and popular Spider-Man stories, so they know they're sitting on the rights to this acclaimed comic story they want to adapt. It's not really Kraven himself they're obsessed with, it's that one story, and I'm not sure you can make that work without the years of history and defeats comic Kraven had before it.

        Anonymous

The thing about Kraven's Last Hunt is that it's a story in which Spider-Man jobs, gets buried and is missing for a good chunk of it while Kraven LARPs as him. I'm not sure if that works for a superhero film.

also the comic is great because it's a comic it will loose its great use of paneling and art and writing, the inner monologues and all
not to mention it would be an adaptation so the story itself will be butchered, especially for the lack of context and established characters
not to mention it would use the homosexual b***h worst version of spider-man

It's important to solidify the villainous image of Russians in our current zeitgeist, therefore Kraven and Rhino will definitely appear in one form or another very soon

He's pretty adaptable as a more personal villain to Spider-Man and he's fun. I'd rather take more classics than shitters like Mr Negative, Screwball or the Inheritors.

Problem is their confrontation inevitably becomes sort of a repeat of Mysterio, where the primary threat Kraven poses are his tools, toxins and weapons, but when Spider-Man actually manages to force him into melee, it's a total stomp.

Not him but you make it sound like its all about drugs with Kraven. Dude is smart, he's in Peter's head.

Comic Vulture is a total loser against Spider-Man in most appearances. Also didn't stop MCU Vulture stomping on Spider-Man winning the physical fight against him. It'd be neat if Spider-Man was actually hunted instead of physical confronted. Think of the first Predator movie. Someone using their smarts against Spider-Man and the only way for Peter to win is use his brain too.

Not the OP, but I hear some whispers too.
    >Tom Holland generally pushes for more adult/gritty take on Spider-Man for the next trilogy with focus on Peter's character. A more personal story about the rise of Spider-Man from his lowest point within his current status as "street level hero".
    >Sony is being pity with villains: Marvel can use anyone they want, but it has to be a version from Sony's universe if there is one. Venom is the one of exceptions because they made a trade with Vulture. Deal with J. Jonah Jameson was done earlier on better terms for Marvel.
    >No Phino. No Morbius. No Kraven. No Silver Sable. No Black Cat. If characters appeared in main Sony universe (The Amazing/Venom) and they have plans for it (like Felicia), they're off limits because Marvel doesn't want to deal with this shit.

    New Trilogy.
    >"Neighborhood Trilogy" is frown around.
    >In turns of main villains, Marvel is interested in Mac Gardan, Roderick Kingsley and Spencer Smyther.
    >Prowler, crime Master & Hammerhead are considered for one-off secondary roles.
    >Spider-Man gets black suit in Kang Dynasty and his behavior changing in Secret Wars.
    >Zendaya & Jacob Batalon might apear in fourth film for a brief moment as "one last time" situation. Nothing about Tony Revolori.
    >Current idea for the fourth film is basically "Scorpion's Last Hunt". Expect black monstrous Scorpion instead of traditional Venom.
    >Peter Parker won't get in college. It's going to Daily Bugle "saga" instead.
    >Angourie Rice & J. K. Simmons will return as key cast members.
    >Robbie Robertson is meant to become a sort of parent figure for Peter.

It's funny you should say that. Tobey Magire isn't being talked about. If Andrew Garfield doesn't come back in "Venomverse" projects, there would be no Peter Parker there. Sony keeps Miles close to their chest.

Why would Kraven give a shit about MCU Spider-Man anyway? In terms of general in-universe public perception, Spider-Man hasn't really done anything of great significance. Certainly not enough to be on a Russian hunter's radar I'd imagine.

Though I guess the same could be said about the comics version. Always seemed sorta weird that Kraven would be fixated on Spider-Man when other, bigger game existed.

Are you for real? The events of No Way Home alone still happened and are on everyone's mind. People know Spider-Man battled 5 dudes on the statue of liberty causing big destruction

No one actually knows what happens. All the relevant parties fricked off to another dimension so they don't know the extent of what went on. All they know is "something" happened at the Statue of Liberty and massive property damage occurred. There's almost zero context for what happened that night. What, is Kraven such a massive Libertygay that he blames Spider-Man for damaging it, thus devotes an entire movie to hunting him down, burying him, putting on his costume and ruining his reputation?

Bro. Spider-Man livestreamed himself on camera telling what he is about to do and who he is about the fight. The only thing New York doesn't remember is his identity. JJJ also fricking saw and reported on the villains he fought since he also was there when May died.
          >What, is Kraven such a massive Libertygay that he blames Spider-Man for damaging it
I think Spider-Man taking on some many people at once and dealing with it might be seen as a challenge for Kraven he is willing to accept. He's done more heinous shit for less.

Hulk is in space and has been keeping low profile according to She-Hulk while Spider-Man regularly chases criminals in New York. Also his name lends himself to being called an animal.
