It's true, Episode III as a standalone film makes watching all the other ones feel totally irrelevant. Oldgays just can't admit that this is Lucas' 2nd zenith after American Graffiti
I grew out of Star Wars years ago. RotS is among the shitty Star Wars movies (which is vast majority) but I definitely have a Star Wars threads fatigue.
>George hands the series over to some other schmuck because he doesnt care about it anymore >doesn't direct >doesn't write it >film ends up being a fan fiction re-write of the original
vs. >Lucas attempting to one-up the 77' film in a grand finale
>She laid out her ideas on matriarchy, androgyny, homosexuality, sadomasochism and other topics in her Yale PhD thesis Sexual Personae: The Androgyne in Literature and Art, which she defended in December 1974.
>Though she has not transitioned, Paglia identifies as transgender. She reports having gender dysphoria since childhood, and says that "never once in my life have I felt female".[60] She says that she was "donning flamboyant male costumes from early childhood on".[21]
>In 1993, Paglia signed a manifesto supporting NAMBLA, a pederasty and pedophilia advocacy organization.
Yep, this is your typical Revenge of the Shit lover.
why did they Jedi try to bring down the republic? Why did the republic let some weird religious sect as commanders in their military.
It makes no sense.

If you've listened to her speak (I have) or read her writing, she would be an example of the idea of a "male-brained woman." However, she also just loves stirring shit up; when she says stuff like this, there's also a good chance she's doing the academic equivalent of shitposting.
That's also the problem with Paglia; she's a very entertaining writer - but you're always questioning where the kayfabe ends. I wouldn't be surprised if she genuinely liked ROTS, but her review of it definitely feels like an insincere, high-effort shitpost.
Disney couldn't compete.
Plus they tried to make the movies bankable toy films for kids whilst Lucas had ditched that idea by Clones and made Sith into a schizo cryptic American war movie in space.
The technology also regressed in those years between the new and the old trilogy. It's almost as if somebody was making things up as he went along and it was all just to sell a bunch of toys.
Anakin's fall felt too quick, he went from being resentful of killing Windu to "I'LL DO WHATEVER YOU SAY, I PLEDGE MY LOYALTY TO YOU CREEPY MONSTER MAN"
Yet the prequels exist and millions were entertained by them, and millions more will continue to enjoy them, and you will continue to seethe and "muh but they were unnecessary" to your grave
by your reasoning, only episode 6 needs to exist, since everything can be explained by a few words of one character. But you needed someone on /tv to explain this to you, so its better just to point out that the prequels are canon and people will always like them no matter how you feel.

You wouldn't be able to explains Luke's story very well in just a sentence. Obi-Wan was able to with Vader's story, as well as the other few lines of dialogue about the Clone Wars and the senate. Not to mention that removing the prequels doesn't affect the original trilogy at all. >people will always like them no matter how you feel.
I don't care how other people feel about them, I just don't think they're necessary additions to the series.
Tell us something we don’t already fricking know
>pic unrelated
star wars fatigue is real

OP here. Sorry, I used the wrong pic.

What movie are you describing?
The first sequel movie obv.
zoom zoom
Lucas wishes he could write like Leigh Brackett, and it wasn't even her best effort
Post one then.
Camille Paglia nods respectfully in your direction
>She laid out her ideas on matriarchy, androgyny, homosexuality, sadomasochism and other topics in her Yale PhD thesis Sexual Personae: The Androgyne in Literature and Art, which she defended in December 1974.

Yep, this is your typical Revenge of the Shit lover.
>having other weird beliefs disregards your other beliefs
this is npc thinking at its finest
ok pedo troony
revenge of the tshi is still garbage
why did they Jedi try to bring down the republic? Why did the republic let some weird religious sect as commanders in their military.
It makes no sense.
the least garbage Star Wars film
That entire sequence is fricking awful. Its only redeeming quality is McDiarmid letting loose.
His facial expressions are hilarious. Other than that the scene is embarassingly awful.
>She reports having gender dysphoria since childhood, and says that "never once in my life have I felt female".[60] She says that she was "donning flamboyant male costumes from early childhood on".[21]

Her praise for RotS is itself shitposting.

i clap when yoda flip and he met chewbacca i clap big sword fight big good clap for movie
you say this but people watch the 77' movie and treat it like prom homecoming when they see the characters again
why do the jedi never have the same acrobatic fights as seen here ever again?
Disney couldn't compete.

it's stupid but somehow still the best of the lot
Not really, the quick summary that Obi-Wan gave in ANH voids any reason to watch all 3 of the prequels
But that way you wouldn't have seen Jar Jar stepping in shit and getting farted on by a camel.
but ANH isn't a good movie, so the summary is wasted when you can simply watch ROTS
>but ANH isn't a good movie
Why?
Yet the prequels exist and millions were entertained by them, and millions more will continue to enjoy them, and you will continue to seethe and "muh but they were unnecessary" to your grave
>they are necessary because they made money and I like them
Solid argument

I don't care how other people feel about them, I just don't think they're necessary additions to the series.
They changed his motivation after they already began shooting and so the finished version is a mess.
correction
So True!
Literally George’s Opus. A genuinely fantastic movie that completely shits all over the disney garbage.
the only thing i didnt like was the NOOO scene.
It was the best of the prequels.
ROTS is entertaining, but still not that good
Yoda losing ruins it
That's not A New Hope.
Despecialized A New Hope is the best Star Wars movie frick CGI crap frick the Prequels
