good. the movie was garbage and they wasted gorr and Bale
Agreed. I felt like it had such potential, but they squandered it.
Which feels like every Marvel or Star Wars media as of late.
cope
shut up mouse shill homosexual Black person troony
Nice projection DCuck, enjoy black Black Adam
The film genuinely should be remade.
kys reddit it was kino
i knew i was going to hate this movie after it dropped a "he doesn't skip leg day" joke in the opening montage
Taika added that because everyone made fun of chris Hemsworth
Damn they're comically small
No way that's not photoshopped.
It's real. His arms are bigger than his legs lmao.
fricking how? I always thought that it is easier to acquire mass on the leg muscles than any other muscle group
because he won't show his legs in the movie, so from movie industry purposes it would be a waste of time and money to have him train his legs
more androgen receptors in delts and arms than legs, juice blows them up.
It's actually harder and takes more effort than just doing upper body exercises. You also don't get the high and exhilaration of a pump, that makes working out more fun, since your blood flows to your legs.
There's a reason "leg day" is a thing. Leg day genuinely feels like work.
Leg Doms is also harder to ignore, especially if you keep skipping legs
all those homies (except brolin cause hes fat now) have chicken legs as well lmao
holy shit even mine are bigger
i dont even get it... lets are the easiest thing to work out in fact so easy you can overwork them rather fast... its not like other body parts that needs different shit constantly with legs it really is just shitting out squads and extend at the end.. thats it. and again not even many since legs are so easy to overwork.
Maybe the dude has bad knees or something who knows..
That's cruel considering they all know he is on whatever grotesque roid cycle Disney put him on
THE BUBBLE IS BURSTING. THIS IS THE TWILIGHT OF THE CAPESHIT. THANK GODS.
Did these CHUDS just express anti-Marvel sentiment (and therefore pro-LGBTQA+BIPOC causes)? That's it, no more Mr. Nice Guy.
MAYONNAISE CHUD, your toxic rhetoric will NOT divide us.
Mayonnaise CHUD, we do not forget. We do not forgive. You have been warned.
We are the Chudbusters. Mayonnaise Chud of Chuddonnaise, consider yourself WARNED. This is ChudWATCH.
Chudbuster OUT.
frick you you bloody bastard
No it's not. That's exactly what everyone was saying when Dark World came out myself included. Then again after Ragnarok came out. Every time a new Thor movie comes out it feels like the Marvel has surely overplayed their hand and this era of capeshit has to come to an end. Then it just doesn't. I don't see why this time will be any different to those which came before.
because before they had avengers to reel people back in
now they have nothing, nobody cares about any of the new characters
Not to say it is inevitable, but it is a different scenario and MCU is much much more vulnerable right now than before.
>That's exactly what everyone was saying when Dark World came out myself included. Then again after Ragnarok came out.
You're full of shit
>he was too young to remember when the marvel roadmap came out around the release of Dark World showing a decade of several dozen planned IPs that were all in pre production
>he doesn't remember when the term marvel fatigue was commonly being used in that era
I don't blame you, it's hard to understand what the sentiments were like at the time when all you have to go on is retrospectives which already know how everything turned out.
No one was saying that when Dark World came out because the MCU was far from its peak of popularity then
>he MCU was far from its peak of popularity then
This is exactly what I meant when I brought up people taking in info based on retrospectives. The Avengers WAS the peak at that time. Dark world was big letdown after that in both ratings and at the boxoffice and had a lot of people asking how they could possibly keep pumping out another 30 movies and series over the next decade and not have it all fall apart. Nobody in 2013 would have ever known or thought that Marvel would come back with a marketing tour deforce to get all that hype behind Infinity War and Endgame. People only say those things now because they can cherrypick details and events to craft the narrative of how things happened. People at the time viewed things much differently than people who weren't there do now.
Except now Disney has had a string of financial disappointments with the Eternals and Lightyear
Anon these people are the same people that post it's over for israeliteplex for the last decade. They also forecast an uptick in the cryptocurrency they're investing yet for some reason they're still living in their mom's basement
They had the avengers to fall back on then, plus an already established gallery of heroes and an ever escalating point to build up to.
The only cards they’ve got to play now are the guardians and black panther, both of which are past their heyday and the latter lacking the ability to lie about it being the first black superhero for marketing
Not to mention that the lead actor for the latter has died of aids for some time lmao
lmao, what? Ragnarok came out at the peak of capeshit hype, just during the lead-up to Infinity War. Every MCU movie and tv show post Endgame is just meaningless content meant to stall people from inevitably unsubscribing from Disney+.
Its only true if they continue to ruin the brand with shit movies.
Hopefully wakanda forever tanks the entire studio.
You've been saying that for years. Doctor Stange 2, Spider-Man 3 and Batman were swimming in cash.
>Thor 4
It is better than having to type out that ridiculously long title every time
>GOR BLOIMEH, STOP IN DA NAME O' TA LAWH! YOU JUST SMACKED THAT LITTLE RUDGER!
>ORFISAR! IT'S ALROIGHT! OI 'AVE A LOICENSE FOR THE SMACKIN' I DO I DO!
>SORRY MISS! GO ON YER DAY AND ALLAH BLESS BRI'ISHLAND!
>Thor-Thor
>literally has two thors
>Thor 4, the four Thor's go forth : part 4
MCU #28
a fine english name
>Nadhim
well if its nad him then who is it?
Looks like evil Jeff Goldblum.
You can't convince me that's not Jeff Goldblum with a skincap on his head
mashallah
>evil has found a way
Have to assume this guy's role in the British government is Grand Vizier
Shariah law in these preschool inshallah
Good. Force is often the only language kids will understand, especially on matters of life-and-death importance.
t. worked on me
True enough.
I guess the irony is supposed to be that: the leftists that voted for a foreigner, to be part of British government, hate the idea of smacking kids, and that the foriegner's ideas on smacking kids practically come from him being a foreigner.
They took EVERY fricking opportunity to shove some woke bullshit on the audience. I hope it fails to make a profit and I want every cast members career to die after this abortion.
They need to establish a big climax the movies are moving toward, otherwise they just end up being aimless, random things that won't hold the audience's attention for much longer.
>Movies need to build towards something later in order for them to be good and for me to enjoy them
This is the average mcu brain rotted moron
this. first these morons are mad because "you have to watch all of them to know what's happening", now they're seething because they're all stand alones.
No, right now they have the worst of both worlds: you need to watch the other shows to understand what is going on, and it's building to nothing.
The MCU's main appeal was how connected it was and that every movie was important and a piece of a bigger story, that's why the DCEU failed back in those days, meanwhile the MCU is currently doing what the DCEU did back then, which is baffling because they know that didn't work
except the only connecting the first movies did was just a 30 second mid credits scene. The first MCU movies that got em popular were like a 7 course meal, everything was separate but part of something larger, Now MCU movies are like taking that 7 course meal, shoving it all into a blender and hitting "puree" until its a disgusting combination of everything but you can drink it all down in one 30 second go
they sure aren't going to be enjoyable on their on merits
most of them really are not, and it sucks. The Avengers films are fun and clearly have a goal/voice. The rest feel like part 2's, every single one, its a part 2. Like BTTF2, it needs part 1 and it needs part 3. That honestly, sucks. The amount of branches the MCU has needs to be trimmed. Give me an independent movie, that's actually good.
Kang is just too much of a pussy for anyone to care about him, rumors are that he will die on every project he is in, just backtrack on that and make BIG GYPSY wiener DOOM steal the powers of Galactus or the Beyonder or something
I genuinely don't have a clue why they aren't focusing on the X-men already.
TUMBLING DOWN TUMBLING DOWN TUMBLING DOWN
It was really bad. Disney liked that Thor 3's change in tone got so many positive reviews and let Taika Waititi do what he wanted, but he's a bit of wacky moron so he went overboard.
3 was shit too
It was trash, but it had its entertaining moments. L&T is just plain bad.
ragnarok wasn't written by taika, this one was, and you can tell
Completely agree. I mean, it's a fairly entertaining comedy, but it's total shit as a movie about Thor.
Know why his mythos doesn't work? Because it's the bedrock upon which Marvel comics as a whole rests, and Disney has done everything within their power to either ignore it or undermine it at every given opportunity. What is that bedrock? In simplest terms, it's this:
Human potential.
They could have set that up, used Thor, Strange, GotG, and the Eternals to introduce the backhistory, to explain why the pantheons of Earth and the galactic empires both leave Earth alone, that we're the Celestials' latest and most promising experiment, and that Thor, unique among the gods, is a protector that Odin petitioned the Celestials to allow. Every superhuman, every mutant in the Marvel universe is a manifestation, however imperfect, of the potential the Celestials see in humanity. Every secret society, both good and bad, is seeking to shepherd humanity into realizing that potential even if it's on their terms and not the Celestials'. Adam Warlock is one of those secret society's attempts to create a more evolved human, and what do they manage to produce? A being *born* with power that rivals a herald of Galactus, a man whose fate is so unwritten and wide-open that not even the abstract embodiment of the Universe itself can perceive the role he plays in things.
Disney thinks that's too hokey, I guess, so instead of embracing it, they let hacks like Waishitti mock shit he has neither the intellect to contemplate, the humility to appreciate, nor the optimism and skill to deliver even if he did.
In other words, frick Disney.
3 was an utter rip-off of what made GotG so enjoyable but without the heart and soul that made that film genuinely good.
This exactly. Taika's one of the luckiest bastards in Hollywood and was somehow ablt to convince the industry that he was some comedic genius when all he did was steal other director's styles
Yeah mouseshitters hate change, true auteur movies like this never stood a chance
Reads like something from a movieblob review
Hemsworth is not a good actor and box office poison, see literally any of his movies. He got extremely lucky to be a part of the MCU playing basically himself.
He literally owes his entire career to joss whedon
except home and away
Not true. He was really good in Spiderhead.
>Couldn't even make $500m in first 10 days, where these movies make at least 70% of their total money
Won't even reach $750m kek
Even reddltors hated it, it has awful word of mouth
You would know kid
Thorsisters? Is it over for us?
Thor is boring.
FLOP AND BLUNDER
i liked it
Same
Phase 4 has been an absolute dumpster fire all around.
GORR THE CAPESHIT KILLER
I only wish
Bale was the only redeeming thing about this mess of a movie
Yeah we know. The movie was shit. Nothing more to be said
I have no idea why they had Nat come out and say it was the gayest Marvel movie yet.
That isn't a selling point to people who watch capeshit. Is it?
No. Championing something that dudes like as gay is the quickest way to get them to lose interest in it.
>
>Thor 4 dropped 68% in week two with virtually no competition during the peak summer popcorn movie timeframe
HAHAHAHAHA (OP) #
>I have no idea why they had Nat come out and say it was the gayest Marvel movie yet.
Actually it was some gay journalist that asked if it was the gayest marvel movie yet and she awkwardly said yes not to offend. Blame the homosexual journalist for this, not Portman. Even though she is a israelite.
I want to do the sex with natalie portman SEEEX SEX SEEEEXOOOOOOOO
SEX, SEX, SEX, JUST SEX, JUST SEXOOOOO
It's an anti-selling point.
I haven't been keeping up with capeshit too closely - is RDJ definitively retired from the franchise? Seems like that'd be a big deal for the box office in the long term.
He would ask for a very large amount of money and I would rather they not cheapen death to comic levels
He's out for sure. He is the one actor who was talented enough to hold everything together, it's just a long lost weekend without him. Was kind of worth suffering these to see RDJ
haha anon I respect your commitment to owning this rando
Thor 4 got absolutely HARRIS'D. Marvel babies BTFO by superior EVROPA film.
Just use Minions because that's actually true
The most annoying cope about Thor's week 2 is "OH OF COURSE DOCTOR STRANGE 2 WAS GONNA MAKE MORE" like what the frick? A Guardians of the Galaxy Thor crossover was always expected to make less than magic guy 2? Get the frick outta here man. Next it's gonna be oh the sequel to black panther wasn't supposed to make a billion, right?
The most annoying is shills pretending they never said either would make a billion
Sequel to Black Panther without the actual Black Panther is gonna be the new excuse for why it doesn't break a billion.
That seems like a genuime reason, though. He was an instantly popular character and now he's dead.
I feel like I'm talking to actual morons half the time. Thor opened to 150mil less than Doctor Strange and people here still said it would hit a billion
I was a huge MCU gay and I got out when I realized Marvel was going down, right before NWH came out
Honestly, seeing MCU gays who are still at it, thinking this franchise has life left is amusing, you're already seeing so much cope from them it's insane
There are exactly two (2) characters that were played straight in the MCU. Thor and Captain America. And they decided to make Thor into yet another quippy moron
It’s over.
It’s going to make a billion. And it’s already made 700 million.
>700 million
It hasn't even made 500 million yet
Those are fake box office numbers, the real numbers were posted yesterday and someone went on Wikipedia and edited them back down to 500 million
Have this (you) the bait had potential never give up anon!
>half a billion is a failure
i mean...whatever you chuds need to feel valuable in life. Go on...keep "Hating the mouse". Is this really the most important thing going on in your life? Hating a clearly popular movie? I don't think it makes you unique, just sad really.
Moron
Ah, so i must be intellectually short coming? Is that your explaination for why you have to nit pick and move goal posts on what failing is. Thor 4 just made HALF A BILLION dollars. What the frick have YOU done in your life?
>Ah, so i must be intellectually short coming?
Yes
>half a billion is a failure
In this case absolutely. You would know, if you had the basic understanding how the industry's numbers work
>Is this really the most important thing going on in your life?
Nice projection, but I'm not the one earning my bread by damage controlling for the trillion dollar company
>I don't think it makes you unique
Always the same tired armchair psychologist's response reeking of a desperate attempt at emotional manipulation. If anything not using this pathetic normalgay cope response alone makes me 200 times more unique than you
> if you had the basic understanding how the industry's numbers work
God, you're a fricking idiot.
>Movie I don't like needs to make a trillion dollars because people expect that, it doens't matter that it cost less to produce and distribute. BvS was a financial success!
But this cost as much as BvS and will make less. You bringing up BvS just exposed you as a company warring fanboy since nobody else mentioned it. So now we know the real reason you're upset
>BvS was a financial success!
Funny you should say that, it had the same budget as this one and made 20% more money. Let's see how you spin this one
>half a billion is a failure
Objectively, unarguably yes
It's the most expansive Thor movie ever around 250M, when you add the marketing which usually doubles the expenses at half a bill they are coming out even.
It's not a flop, but it's definitely a failure
movie cost 250m
more if you count marketing so lest be incredible generous and assume something like 100m extra, and that's an unreal pittance, but for the sake of conversation lets assume that
so the real cost is now 350m. You just made 500m in 2 weeks, this shit won't keep pumping numbers, it's in its last legs. So yeah, you just made back 150m...that's a massive flop
I'd be ok with 150M dollars
That's why you work in burger king anon
you would be ok, multibillion film companies wouldn't if they invested 350+
Keep in mind that the studios take 50% on average, with more going to the cinemas as time goes on.
Though granted marketing, while technically an expense, is largely paid into their own pockets so isn’t a major factor for it flopping or not.
>So yeah, you just made back 150m
If you ignore the theater cut
Marketing is never less than the production budget, you're being way too generous there and they don't receive 100% of the earnings, the cinemas needs to get something and studios receive a smaller portion from international gross. The shareholders will be livid, especially when you consider Disney share prices are currently just above their five year low.
Rule of thumb is to double the production budget to account for marketing, and half the box office take to account for theater takes (and other factors). So that's 500 mil to make and it's current BO is 500 mil (when accounting for the studios slice of the profit) so yeah, that's a massive flop. But Hollywood accounting and cover for it for now.
>movie cost 250m
This is even more ridiculous than Lightyear 200m, where did all that money go? Not even the 4 hours+ early cut can justify it.
>where did all that money go?
Cocaine
>Chris Hemsworth
>Christian Bale
>Chriss Pratt
>Karen Gillian
>David Bautista
>Bradley Cooper
>Vin Diesel
>Tessa Thompson
>Russle Crowe
>Natalie Portman
>Jeff Goldblum
>Peter Dinklage
>Lena Heady
>Taika Waititi
This is easily 30-50m, if not more. Also yes, three of these actors never appeared in the movie.
What was Vin like?
a bit wooden
*ba dum TSH"
>you just made back 150m
Movies need to make roughly 2.5 times their initial budget to break even. Thorthor isn't even there.
Damn moron you genuinely don’t know a fricking industry. Amazing.
>he still pushes for Thor4 is a success narrative
kek, keep on brother, maybe the mouse will notice you
I doubt the marketing budget was so low, the marketing budget for other marvel movies and the disney star wars stuff was apparently between 200-300 mil, plus considering the theater cut this movie making half a bil its barely breaking even
>not making a profit is a good thing
These movies need to make billions you moron. They sink tonnes of resources into them and they were once a huge cash cow
it literally broke even this weekend and has a ton of cross-promitional materials connected to it. I know this is hard for you, but it's a mild success for disney/marvel.
Do you sincerely believe that the studio takes 100% of the theatrical cut, or are you just pretending to be moronic?
Anon doesn't understand how profit in the cinema industry works.
you gotta learn to be more subtle in your bootlicking
AHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHHAHAAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA EAT SHIT GOY
>GotG x Thor: fake LOL
>batmans family all died LOL
>rockman is a main characters LOL
>screaming goats LOL
>stage 4 cancer LOL
>everyone thor loves is now dead LOL
>child soldiers LOL
i really expected the end credit scene to be a rick roll
talk about a shit fest
>rockman is a main characters LOL
but why? noone cares about him he's just a stupid selfinsert so taika can feel like he's an actor
yes, thor 4 is a bad movie and it still making tons of profit for disney
what is your point?
Still gotta make at least $200m more before the profit starts, sweaty.
>Profit
Lmao. I wouldn't be surprised if this actually loses money
Top Gun cinematic universe soon
Vanilla Sky extended cinematic universe when?
If it made a billion, can you imagine if Jennifer Connelly were hot like it was in the 90s?
Can't bruise the cruise
>Damn they're comically small
Man frick every butthole involved with ruining this movie. Imagine wasting Christian Bale.
>no competition
Top Gun is still showing in a lot of theatres. And that's a film that people actually want to see because of good word-of-mouth.
dude it's been out for three months
>May 27, 2022
Based future bro telling us that Top Kino still has another 1 and a 1/2 months of being in theatres to BTFO MCUtrannies.
I thought the new theatrical runs were 45 days
Top Gun is staying in theaters until August 23 when it comes out on VOD
Imagine thinking Thor: Love and Thunder isn't going to BREAK $1 billion. LOL chuds think they have one because of ONE slow weekend. Get ready for the fricking storm!
On average movies drop 85-90% on week 2, so Thor is actually doing excellent.
Most movies drop 105%. They will literally pay people to show up to the theaters after the 2nd week.
remember that if you dont like this current product everyone will think you are a racist misogynist and will never get laid, better play it safe and talk about how great it is
A YO THOR
WAT UP MJOLhomie
I literally had to close my eyes out of embarrassment when this scene happened. Like if I didn’t see it maybe it wasn’t happening
Did you go to the cinema theater?
You know what scene I didn't even blink because I didn't want to miss? It was the scene where Maverick battles the two supermodern fighters with the f-14. Oh, that's right, THAT WAS ANOTHER MOVIE.
You realize that the children scene is shoehorned in as blatant money laundering. They paid their kids for speaking parts. Blatant nepotism even for a israelite
>DEY HERE
they almost made it through the whole movie without a gay scene. i was surprised
did you miss the part with star lord?
When the web-dl comes out I'm finding the stupidest line/scene and pasting it side by side with this. Was already tempted to do it with the flick scene
Dare I say that Morbius is better than Thor 4?
but but it didnt take itself very seriously!!! Isnt that the sole defining factor of quality?
Top Gun is already above Jurassic World and Elvis and soon will pass Minions as that meme kiddie shit falls in the dailies. The moment it passes Thor in about two weeks will be historic and I can't wait to see the capeshit gays crying.
Good job you made half of Endgame's worldwide gross lmao
And Endgame cost twice to make as Maverick did.
>skip leg day
>movie has no legs
It's like poetry
I've got Marvel fatigue, only shit I really care about coming up is Spider-Man and X-Men.
Most fans go to see superhero movies in the first week, since the media think it's fine to start doing spoilers 5 days after release FFS
Five days? I wish. I usually start seeing spoilers by nightfall on opening day.
I just want to say, the part where they visit Gorr's planetoid, the set looked really, really cheap. Like they filmed it in someone's apartment. There were props in there that looked like tarpaulin and plastic bags.
I have absolutely no idea what was going on in that part.
Hahahaha holy shit that was some hard coping mousetroony if I ever saw one
man he just looks like a random harley driver who gets beat up by the main character now
Why would someone pay to go into a dark room to watch a movie during a nice summers day?
You know it's bad when the normies are shitting on it
Can I just say no normal person is interested in that horse guy?
No normal person was interested in this movie either
On the contrary. People wanted Thor. Noone knows horse guy.
To be fair, normal people didn't care about a lot of characters before the MCU used them and made them household names. You think people gave a shit, or even knew, about Rocket Raccoon and Groot before the first GOTG?
That was before, back then the MCU was something good, did you see anyone give a shit about any of the new characters? No
Thats because Rocket Racoon or Groot was fun to watch. Instead of this we have some random pajeet or Black person. That's why adding Beta Ray Bill would be awesome but current Marvel is in inclusion mode right now.
Any comments from wacky ol Taika on the flop? Would love to hear how he's taking it
Considering Wedon's fate after Ultron, Waikiki is likely not returning for more Thor.
In fairness, it’s possible that disney had found out all the skeletons in his closet and were looking for an excuse to boot him before they came out
Didn't he get metooed around that time? Ultron wasn't a terrible flop commercially, was it?
>Ultron wasn't a terrible flop commercially, was it?
Ultron made less money than the first Avengers. Downward trends are not what Disney wants, although their shit got so woke you can legit wonder if they even care about making profit anymore at this point.
He was starting to come into their sights after the can’t have children line in AoU, but he wasn’t actively being targeted yet.
It is possible that disney had an inkling of what was coming and wanted to wash their hands of him early
would you really trust Disney to do Beat Ray Bill justice?
>Dr Doom introduced as an angry Ex-Stark employee
>Dr Doom introduced as an angry Ex-Stark employee
You're shitting me.
Are you referencing Mysterio there or did they actually introduce Doom already?
This is the most forced sperg out about the MCU. As if Vulture and Mysterio didn't always have wildly different background stories depending on the movie and show that had nothing to do with Spider-Man before they met. Mysterio has always been an angry ex-employee conman trying to screw over Spider-Man to get famous.
Began have, the summer blockbuster wars
>remember all this stuff nobody thought was clever even over a decade ago?
>remember?
>I'm not gonna stand heeeeere an wayeeeeeeet
It's been nice seeing Maverick best it in just about every category. Maverick was so fricking good it surprised the hell out of me. Even better than the original. In fact, I might get a group together to watch it again this weekend.
Hell yeah, man.
Boxofficemojo finally corrected the worldwide total
I thought I was going crazy last sunday when their first numbers came out.
It surprised me because the results contradicted what I had read about the massive drop then I realised they were adding the combined domestic+international to the domestic to the get the worldwide.
If you aren't taking meds, you really should be.
You're right. The webm the schizo posted portrays the normal people and their communitarian values
Marvel is finally dying. It's the age of anti hero subversive stories.
They won't last long. Without the mainstream capeshit around anti-capeshit capeshit loses its relevance. Studios will swap to anti-nu-trend stuff. Personally I hope the new trend is a revival of historical epics, but I'm doubtful.
Ig something similar would make money today.
Yeah. Gladiator, Troy, etc etc. Even when they weren't that great they were still fun.
That's a shame, but they don't stick around long. Typically they're even worse than capeshit.
We won’t get any of those until we get writers capable of sincerity and actors with the charisma to pull it off.
Joss Whedon and his consequences have been a disaster for cinema
>Personally I hope the new trend is a revival of historical epics
It's video games and anime adaptations but i reckon the trend won't be as big as MCU in its heyday.
It will be historical epics or sci fi like dune. But it will be pozzed to frick
Fujc yeah, can't wait for black Cleopatra, black Hannibal and black Napoleon.
The next big thing will be sci fi.
Um that sounds problematic, Anon
Cool it with anti-semitic remarks
It's over
capeshit fatigue
Both LT and MoM dropped hard despite having no competition.
Seems turning Thor and Wanda into mental morons, and sidelining Strange, was dumb.
Strange almost hit 1b, the 2 biggest things against it are the investment into the MCU and the fact disney started streaming it at the 6 week mark. Basically, Top gun is a more approachable summer film and doesn't have a streaming option. Disney doesnt know wtf they're doing yet with this put it on disney+ shit. No one has paramount+ so, they saw top gun in theaters. And thor 4 from the trailers looks like shit, and surprise-surprise, is shit. Strange absolutely had competition though. Top gun and Jurassic sniped seats.
Now Black Panther needs to underperform (aka not make a billion) and this will be Marvel's worst year in ages.
Interesting to see how Feige will react if that happens.
I’m sincerely interested in how that one turns out.
I want to know how many ꜱoy elementals will watch it without having to be told they’re solving racism, and how many blacks will watch it without being told it’s the first black superhero movie
It will all depend on the trailer tbh. The Thor 4 trailer is what made my normie friends, who are mostly casual marvel fans, not want to see it. If it looks good it will get them, I'm sure.
The die-hard MCU drones will watch anything, Feige needs to focus on the casuals if he wants big numbers again.
But BP2 already has no Tchalla, missing secondary members, and an unpopular actress as the protagonist. Genuinely don't think it will do that well. Maybe they'll put Spiderman on it out of desperation or something.
Actually, I think it's coming out at the same time as Avatar 2. Will be interesting to see Marvel vs titan of culture James Cameron, it will be the only time in a while where they have to prove themselves. Will be fun to see even if it's just more money for Disney in the end lol
>It will all depend on the trailer tbh
They're making a BP movie without the titular hero, this one is already fricked for being a brain dead idea worse than Lightyear.
>The die-hard MCU drones will watch anything
The Eternals showed us how much a MCU movie can make just with the drone.
It's abnormal for there to be no trailer for it still, right? Or is that just me
i think the mcu shit is nearing its slow end..didnt exactly help that they went the lazy literal graveyard route of "muh multiverse shit" which never ever works in anything because it destroys any and all tension and almost by desgin shits out plot holes constantly and thats the best case scenario the more likely worst case scenario is that typical "multivers nothing matters" shit in media retroactively also takes a huge shit on everything that came before... it really is the lazy writers route when you run out of ideas.... anyway back to the topic of the mcu failing.. i think everyone in the industry is seeing the writing on the wall and thats why they suddenly try to go hard on video game and anime adaptations in hopes of striking the next goldmine with long legs.
They’ve mostly cucked themselves by not having any charismatic leads waiting in the wings, emasculating the remainders and having nothing solid to work towards.
The three secrets to marvel’s success were the leads, making the movies seem like required reading for a payoff and being an unstoppable juggernaut that’s impossible to ignore, and they’ve lost all that.
I get that the latter was an inevitable temporary situation, and that the writer’s strike has been bleeding irreplaceable talent for over a decade now, but surely Larry wouldn’t mind having a lead that isn’t a complete limp wrist if you bulk the movie with the tokens?
yeah the new leads are kinda bland at best... i get that at some point the actors want to move on and you need to bring in new ones... but come on lol
for example compare chris evans charisma with the new dude... and i say that as someone that learned to hate evans for being such a low iq braindead sjw bootlicker.. but he really kinda perfect for the role (goody two shows tier hero)
>they went the lazy literal graveyard route of "muh multiverse shit" which never ever works in anything because it destroys any and all tension and almost by desgin shits out plot holes constantly
They already did time travel with Endgame, which was the point of no return.
you just know a thor film featuring the guardians of the galaxy for most of the film would be comfortably on its way to a billion dollars right now
But then that way wacky, goofy ol' Waishiti can't insert his gf and himself into the movie.
To be fair a big heat wave has arrived where I live and I don't know anyone who would want to visit the cinema when it's this hot.
Yeah I agree it sure sucks having to go from your (presumably) air conditioned house in your air conditioned car into an air conditioned theater. Difficult stuff.
> air conditioned theater.
Are you moronic? People still don't want to go out with 40°C/100°F outside. They'd rather go swim, grill together or stay home.
AHAHHHAHAA that fricking moron homosexual is thinking about offing himself right now
Let's hope he's already done it.
Has that anon killed himself yet? How can he live in such shame?
are we finally in the capeshit fatigue stage?
no cinema is just dying
>no cinema is just dying
Top Gun: Maverick made a billion without China and is Tom Cruise's most successful movie.
Yes Top Gun is a very important part of pop culture, a movie literally decades in the making instead really a sustainable way to keep the industry alive with streaming eating it alive. If capeshit dies without anything to replace it cinema is dead.
One Marvel tier movie not about superheroes is great but at the end of the day it's just one
>If capeshit dies without anything to replace it cinema is dead.
worth it
Enjoy your streaming slop dumb contrarian, I'm sure you will find something popular there to hate as well
>Enjoy your streaming slop dumb contrarian
Capeshit IS streaming slop, dumbass.
Let me guess you IQ is exactly 64?
>C-Capeshit is actually cinema guize!!!!
lol
Clearly not what I said
>he actually thinks capeshit is film
wow this is bad even for marvlets
the market is over saturated as it is. it needs to die so it can be reborn.
It'll just die, mate.
>true detective and chernobyl are "streaming slop"
>thor flop and blunder is an actual film
Hnmm not seeing your cope angle mousesister
>long form TV shows
Now I know you are baiting
I don't understand how this failed
moronic arrogant gays made a bad movie that didn't have enough fun stuff in it to cover for all the bullshit, even by normie standards. not that complicated
>protag named thor
>sidekick named korg
>villain named gorr
apologise, marvelshills
Thor is going to make less than The Batman
I can't wait for Aquaman 2 to make a couple billy again
It's crazy to know that the fate of the MCU and the biggest hitter left in their 'Phase 4'...
Is fricking Ant-Man 3.
Imagine your entire cinematic universe revenue hinging on fricking paul rudd and a bunch of stand-up comedians
It's Captain Marvel you dumb bigot
