Why do people insist on live action remakes?

live action is the only way you can sell it to the normies who refuse to watch anything animated

Every single normie loves ATLA though.

Naw, only a small portion of Millennial and Zoomie normies. The bulk of them don't even know or care about it, but if you make it a live action series then you can reach a larger audience. Ask yourself if Game of Thrones released as an animated cartoon... would it have gotten the audience it did? No.

there's a good chunk of audiences that dont like watching animated stuff.
On concept, it's not a bad idea but with a show like ATLA? I cant imagine a live action adaption which holds up and isnt the most expensive project in the world. I predict momo will be the 2nd character to be affected by the budget since they couldnt even bother to give Zuko a realistic burn scar

There is no one involved with any artistic credibility in the Netflix product. You trust them due to blind faith. The original creators left the project because they disagreed with the direction it was going. The products you consume have become the religion that you pretend to preach. No one cares that you're uncritical of the product, and you're not a better person because of it. There are plenty of mindless products I find enjoyment from. I don't go online and call people Negative Nancys for not enjoying them, because I don't have the IQ of a bug that lives under a rock.

I withhold judgement until I see. I see a screenshot of an ugly actor with a half-assed scar. I see a cynical production with no artistic backing, only a financial one. You see an opportunity to consume product and get excited about next product. I genuinely hope you enjoy your goyslop, its nice to enjoy some slop every now and then. But to elevate it to anything higher than slop, to pretend you like it for any reason other than IP. You're lying to yourself, and you're shilling. Whether you're being paid to or not, you're shilling. And that's the gayest part of it of all.

Mindless, irrational optimism can be a good thing. But in this case it is to the benefit of a corporation that offers zero value to the artistic landscape. A company that is actively working to kill the medium of film. A company with a track record so far in the toilet it comes out of a Chinese urinal. In this case I feel 0 guilt calling some guy a retard for "enjoying things". It's a screenshot of an ugly actor with shitty makeup, there's no amount of reality denial you can do to convince me otherwise. And on top of that, its a bastardization of a piece of art that I particularly enjoy. So yeah, I, and others, are going to be a little critical of this soulless "adaptation".

Lol man ok. I'll do that if you promise to stop engaging with angry people online, it isn't productive for you. The "have faith" argument only works if you have a person to place that faith in, corporations aren't people and they don't have creative abilities, or track records. The appearance of an track record is actually just the track record of the people within the company. In Netflix's case, there are really no humans in any positions of power that give me any faith in the production of this, or any other Netflix project. If there's something you know that I don't know, now would be the time to share it. But otherwise its just going to come off as blind optimism to a bunch of people who have plenty of reasonable reasons to be doubtful. Calling those people "children" just comes off as childish in itself.

Remind yourself the people who make things usually do care about them. I am completely aware of what corporations do. They don't make these things. They fund them, and give minor notes. The major chunk of creativity is in the hands of the capabilities of those who make these things. Products to the bigwigs, failed works of art to the people who made them. I don't think this will be a failed work. That's where my faith lies. Remember, too, the original creators make Korra and Voltron. Maybe their leaving was for the best

This is the type of discussion we should have been having in the first place and I'm sorry I gave into my emotions (because its the internet) and allowed myself to sperg on you. This is much more productive.
                >Remind yourself the people who make things usually do care about them.
True, but I'm sure M Night cared about ATLA and Vogt Roberts cared about Kong. Both (in my eyes) failed in their adaptations of the source material. Hell, I'm sure even Paul WS Anderson cared about Resident Evil, but only 1 of his 6 or 7 movies feels that way. My point is that the people may care, but without the proper leadership, a project like this falls apart. Even if there are moments where the passion for the original material shines through, its ultimately pointless if there's no voice behind it. It just becomes an amalgamation of tribute, which is entertaining enough, but devoid of the original soul that makes ATLA and properties like it so financially lucrative in the first place.
                >the original creators make Korra and Voltron
You probably already know this, but Korra was made by the ATLA creators, but Voltron was just made by assorted Korra production crew. Neither the original creators (nor the head writer of ATLA, who contributed heavily) was involved in Voltron. And while I agree with you that the original creators of ATLA ('Bryke' as they're referred to by their fans) are out of touch, I don't think any Avatar project is really Avatar without them. Their talent and unique worldviews are what made the original show, and I highly doubt a bunch of random Netflix crewmembers can match either of those energies. Call me cynical all you want, but the screenshot in the OP is all I needed to see.
