Okay, I get that they have this weird and pissed off creature running around their outpost but why didn't they try holding hands and singing to it about the power of friendship and togetherness? Or at least try asking it nicely to stop?

>The real thing was the friends we made along the way
or fricking it. maybe it just wanted to get it on.
The thing is intelligent and has the capacity to build a miniature spaceship.
How the hell did it not think of pretending to be friendly as it slowly assimilated people none the wiser?
Was it just moronic? Literally the only time it showed genuine intellect was when it made the “oh shit they’re gonna find me out” frown before the blood test.
it could've showed up as a big tittied prostitute, fricked all the guys and assimilate them via std
What big titted prostitutes could it have assimilated?
Blair.
Big tittied alien women it conquered untold eons ago
I think they made that movie, Species
Pretty sure it can speak when once its morphed into someone. Thats why the ending is a cliffhanger, you dont know which or even if either of them is the thing.
It did pretend to be friendly and slowly assimilate them. As a dog. But then it messed up and annoying Bennings and got sent to the kennel, then it was all downhill from there.
Not to mention what Clark did to it when they were alone.
He fricked the fake dog?
Yes, that is the reason the Thing didn't assimilate him. He either fricked it so good that it spared him or the Thing got so weirded out that it didn't want to assimilate him.
You have mental problems to think this shit up
We know what you did, Clark.
>one of the titles to The Thing soundtrack is called Bestiality
It is strongly hinted.
Yes. The poor Thing was traumatized from the incident. This is why it became so aggressive.
>"How long were you alone with that dog?"
I get the feeling Blair asked him several times before.
It gets lonely in Antarctica.
Thing 1 and thing 2
Thing 2 and Thing 1
They can do anything anything anything under the sun!
I liked the X-Files episode better.
Why?
Nta but i guess the mind control instead of flat out shape shifting feels more grounded. But I love both of the stories.
the thing should've joined a boy band.
it didn't assimilate Clark because Clark would have been an obvious suspect and it used him as a red herring.
Blair?
>alien was already almost done building a spaceship so he can fly to wherever galaxy
>blow it up and strand him on earth
b r a v o white male lead
It's weird to think about but if The Thing took over humanity it would just be doing exactly the same thing the collective human race has been doing because all it wants to do is imitate.
>mugger-thing goes to another person-thing
>slits person-thing's throat and steals the wallet
>person-thing is still living, goes to thing-police because that's what a normal person would do
>thing-police arrest mugger-thing because that's what the police would do
>mugger-thing goes to prison because that's how human society works
It just imitates everyone perfectly for the sake of it, no other purpose other than imitating and spreading because that's all it was wired to do.
What part of it showed that it wanted anything? It seemed to want to escape Earth and can you blame it?
Or was the assumption that its ad-hoc flying saucer was to get it to a more populated area?
Who is the worst roommate?
Nauls, that butthole won't turn down his music.
>Help! Das Ding has got me!
