Not have Robocop absent for like, 15+ minutes of the middle of the fricking movie.
He's now known as Alex and goes after an organ harvesting ring as he gradually keeps regaining his humanity. When he defeats the baddies he gets a new body that is mostly human and retires. Despite his best efforts, he is unable to fix his marriage. Movie ends with him receiving a job offer for detective work because parts of his brain are still computerized.

> Frame pans to Robocop, Officer Lewis, and other cops in a shootout with South American communist revolutionaries taking over town hall.
>The streets are a bloodbath, cops go down one-by-one
>Robocop and Lewis are the only ones standing, Lewis is shot and Robocop drags her out the line of fire to retreat.
>An insurgent hits Robocop with some kind of energy weapon, shutting him down.
>Cut to news broadcast of revolutionaries attempting to take over Detroit
>While exposition and footage is showing, revolutionaries burst in the newrsoom on live TV hold up the anchors at gunpoint
>Cut to TV static, then pan over OCP office, armed personnel and big robots guarding the building and shit.
>Board talks about evacuation plan and some guy brings up their 'contingency products'
>Suddenly the board room is filled with a demonstration of hundreds of little drones that shoot lasers
>OCP decides to unleash these police drones on the city to stop the takeover, in exchange for all publicly owned utilities in Detroit.
>Cut to drones flying in the streets, gunning down insurgents, stopping car jackings, etc.
>Cut to Robocop in basement of insurgent controlled town hall.
>Lewis injured and held as a hostage.
>Antagonist leader and scientists paint him red, augment laser cannons, jet packs, and fully functioning male anatomy.
>Reprogram robocop to follow their orders, as well as send him on a mission to takeover OCP headquarters.
>Montage of robocop fighting drones, remaining police, etc.
>Robocop gets to OCP headquarters, devastates everything, aims gun at OCP CEO.
>The programming to not harm OCP executives kicks in.
>Robocop malfunctions, OCP wipes insurgent's programming.
>Robocop goes and frees the town hall, fights bad guys, and saves Officer Lewis
>Cut to news congratulating OCP for saving the city, and then an unrelated story on how water bill is rising 500% next quarter.
