If you haven't seen Oldboy in theaters, you haven't seen Oldboy.
The 4K remaster/removal of the green tint in the color grade was worth the price of admission.

>muh theater experience
its not kino unless you can lay back and relax and rip loud farts
In what modern theater can you not "lay back"? Don't tell me you flyover dipshits are still using stadium seating and not the premium recliners.
flyover this
>*pisses in your mouth*
I hope youre ripping those farts into someones mouth or face
what a shit flick
found your pic online anon
I don't breathe through my mouth. At best you'll get a little in my nose. lmao owned.
I saw it on DVD almost 20 years ago and that was enough. Good movie but it has little replay value.
The cinema is the worst way to watch a film unless you're inventing a scenario like on your phone on a merry go round in a Scottish Park with 15 year olds drinking Tenants
Sounds like you just live among degenerates because I go to the movies three times a week minimum and I don't have any problems. I also have a home theater with about $10,000 spent in A/V and I still prefer my local Dolby Cinema/IMAX projection.
I've not gone to the cinema in the past 2 years and seen more than 4 other people in there. It's just worst picture and sound quality, less comfort and less convenience, at a higher cost than being at home.
Everyone has a 65" TV in their living room now on a comfortable sofa. It's no wonder this shit is dead.
then you spent too much. my home theatre cost a bit over that but its way better than any cinema
I mean a bit over HALF that
Spent too much? I have 9.2 Atmos setup w/ a 4K projector and an Ambient Light Rejecting screen.
I'm sorry you have autistism
>stop having nice things anon it's autistic to do so
10k for that kind of setup is almost poverty tier, fairly low quality projector, speakers and AVR. Spending a lot on the cheapest part will not make it amazing, it’s not surprise you prefer the cinema.
>t. anon that owns literally nothing and just trying to start internet arguments
Actually own a nice (if old) HK 5.1 setup myself, with a nice plasma. I’m budgeting 10-20K for a nicer KEF setup, and that’s just for the speakers. I’ve had projectors before, and I’m just going to move towards OLED, because we’re no longer in 1995 and TVs are easily found in really large sizes nowadays. A surround spund setup will make a movie feel way bigger than a TV screen will anyway, but by all means anon please disclose your 9.2 setup, with projector and AVR.
I cant wait for the sequel, OLDERBOY
Man I really wanna watch this, too bad it's not being showed at any cinemas in my shithole country Sweden
>showing at a local movie theater
Frick it, we ball. I really don't know how to feel about re-grading the film for color correction, though.
I'm a fan of the color grading trend that's occurring in 4K remasters.
generally I wouldn't like a regrading that's so severe, but Return of the King has such a flat, sepia tone to it, which is completely lacking in the previous two films, that almost anything would be an improvement.
The bottom is just some moron taking a photo of their television.
Here's how the 4K version's colors actually look like.
Fake news I saw this in theaters and it was more naturalistic
Just download the 4K rip if you don't believe me.
>oldboy
>fricks a youngbitch
BRAVO
>removed the green tint
ruining the movie because of midwits
>If you haven't seen Oldboy in theaters, you haven't seen Oldboy.
I look nothing like your caricature. Point still stands.
>Theatre projectionist using low powered bulb that is over a year old that is burned out and weak making the image darker and will affect the colour represation
>Uses "periscope" systems where the image is bounced off several mirrors losing brightness and focus
>screens misaligned and in wrong aspect ratio
>reel gauge is purposely loose to try to extend lifespan leaving the film not tight across the projector and out of perfect focus
AH yes, the perfect viewing experience.
That will be $20 plus tip, sir.
i just wanted to say that i can play the last waltz on piano and i will propably break up with my gf after 5 years and i think its gonna break her heart forever
remake is better
in english
boobies
Garbage movie thats only selling factor is the lame and moronic twist. Also funny that in 2023 it's not a horror story but a heavily promoted fetish. kek.
>The 4K remaster/removal of the green tint in the color grade was worth the price of admission.
Idk if I need to see it in theaters but I am looking forward to the improvements. Weren't the tints used to signify things in the movie? I know Green, Red, and Violet are used throughout. The scene where he recalls his time at school has a brown tint to show it's a memory. Is it still grainy? Any improvements to the CGI? Is the soundtrack still the same?
Overrated anime-tier dogshit. Just because you've never seen something before in a film does not make it good. Just because you're so used to the lowest of the low tier capeshit slop does not mean that a film that is one iota in quality better is a sudden all-time masterpiece. If there was ever a "Reddit" movie, this is it, bar none.
Judging by these reddit comments I found you would fit right in over there
>it’s suddenly reddit to not like Oldboy
When did this happen. It was always Redditors who praised this garbage
Lots of redditors "like" it but refuse to watch it again, some people hate it, some praise it to the point of cringe. I just found the most critical comments because I'm a kr movie simp

More npcs with totally organic ideas
all i see is a bunch of Whites arguing about a Asian film.
>anime bullshit, but a human guy!
Am i wrong for liking sympathy for mr vengance way more?
Is it only getting a re-release in the US?
Na, I think that's generally accepted opinion.
Mr Vengeance > Oldboy > Lady Vengeance in terms of quality, but Oldboy is BY FAR the most stylish and accessible of the trilogy and therefore is basically the perfect entry film into Korean thriller cinema.
No, they're both pretty good.
However, people who prefer Lady Vengeance are completely wrong
The remaster was in theaters months ago in my country, and I just only learned about it. Frick
It's coming out in Brazil just in setember. I'm gonna have a blast
