So the only reason to USE Taskmaster would be if you gave his fans what they wanted. But they didn't. It was a throwaway for a character who might as well have been a robot for all the character they actually had.
The only reason I can think is because they wanted some superassassin character and they just pulled his name out of the hat so they could have a comic character rather than making a donut steel
Apparently Feige wanted Taskmaster because that's something fans want and it would sell many action figures, hence Taskmaster being very prominent in the toyline. But the person writing the script didn't get it or was purposefully neglectful and we got this as a result.

I don't have great confidence in this. Maybe they'll bootleg the Masters of Evil thing with Zemo, but more likely they'll just do a Suicide Squad rip-off. Honestly, it feels like this film should be coming out in five years time, when they've actually got stronger villains to be using.

Everything feels so scattershot but it also has to be tied into everything else? Why exactly did Dr. Strange 2 need to be a sequel to Wandavision?
The problem started way before Endgame, but we're just seeing the results of it now--especially with the D+ shows.
They made too much in such a short span of time. Not only did this over-saturate the market, but the number of throwaway movies/shows really started to rise--which only serves to decrease consumer confidence.
I feel like they should have scaled it down to 2 movies per year post-Endgame to let things cool off a bit. At least we had a MCU free 2020.

He was the most entertaining part of TFATWS.
The entire middle part of that series felt like an advertisement for Zemo's Thunderbotls.
It's kind of shame that he's so different from the comics. I like what they did with him, but one of the best parts of the original run was when the rest of the Thunderbolts are confronted by his full on, cackling, world-conquering supervillainy and realise they've fricked up.
