There's worse shows you could rewatch. I remember naming Supernatural and Lost as my favourite shows the last time the question was asked.
Not just hot but beyond charismatic. Every second he is on the screen he steals the show from everyone. I can't think of another actor with that level of charisma
The same thing happened in Season 3 of The Boys. It's a shame that he spent his life doing Supernatural and Ryan Gosling took every role.
Oh then that's based. People always post her with short hair so I assumed.

>People always post her with short hair so I assumed.
Those are probably recent pics. She's in an upcoming romance movie and her character must have cancer or something if she shaved her head. I don't like her with short hair. I think she's still beautiful as a brunette but not with short hair.

She's so damn beautiful when she isn't wearing the cow ring and some gay ass hairstyle. Looks just like my ex. I wish she would get unpozzed.
I think Florence is the most beautiful so I'm glad someone agrees. She isn't pozzed, by the way, and she cut her hair for a movie.

>This it was X-files for guys primarily.
I've watched a bit of X-Files and Supernatural is just that show but 2 guys instead of guy + girl. That means the show is even more masculine than X-Files. Women just like it because the guys are hot but it doesn't mean it's for women.
Nobody thinks this movie is for men, so if someone says Supernatural is for women then they're likely a woman.
How could you possibly watch a TV show 14 times??!? I will occasionally watch a show twice if I really like it, but the second viewing pales in comparison to the first. FOURTEEN times??!???!??!?

I rewatch and rewatch shows I like, too. And movies. I also re-read novels I love. I just watch the episodes in sequence and after the series finale I go back to the pilot and do it all again.
Not him but I have around same hours on CSGO. Really fricks you up to think about that number and the amount of $$$ lost.. still gonna queue later though
honest question. have you acquired mastery in that game? I mean you should right? its an insane amount of hours after all, if not then that means you seriously suck at self-reflection and improvement.
Considering how shit and generic 99% of television is how could you not wind up rewatching the same few shows? You only get consistent new content if you like police procedurals, sitcoms, or reality tv. If you want to watch anything new that aren't one of those you're stuck watching anime or garbage.

That's logical, because X-Files actually has a female lead. It just makes people who say Supernatural is "for women" look even dumber.

Somewhere around 2014 Supernatural appealed to the tumblrina crowd, but that's like saying Doctor Who is a show for women because they latched onto that for a brief time as well. The tumblrinas dropped the show when it refused to make Dean and Castiel gay, which is why they watched it in the first place.
I suppose the equivalent to that is watching Buffy and hoping for Buffy to have a lesbian sex scene with one of the other female characters that I don't know. Only difference is, we admit that's just our coom fantasy while the tumblrinas unironically wanted it pushed as a serious storyline.

Women don't want a female lead necessarily. Have you seen the xfiles? Calling it a woman show is insane, it's a 90s nerd show from before everyone accepted that. Supernatural very clearly goes for a woman audience, not at the complete expense of men but it's definitely way too soap opera like.
Cool, I rewatched this recently with my sister same thing for season 1-5, i completely forgot how Dean and Sam have a cryfight about their dad or having a normie life every five seconds in each episode made me kek every time.
Why YES, I AM still fricking pissed that God is an A/B/O fanfiction writer that has been giving Sam and Dean in-universe plot armour and nearly all of their accomplishments, including the ability to live on an all-bacon diet and pick locks, are owed to his bad writing, why do you ask?
Supernatural was moderately good up until Season 11. Everything about that Mary Sue Jack fricking sucked. There were decent sub-plots in latter seasons, like the British, but Season 11 was a good place to do an ending or hiatus with the defeat of the Darkness. Turning Chuck into a hipster God fanfic writer was such a fricking stupid idea, on par with Jake Skywalker.
The show fricking sucked after Season 5. The writing was instantly bad. I watched the UFO episode on Season 6 with the fricking leprechauns and I laughed so hard. The worst writing
Leprechauns and fairies being canon and not some weird spell thing is too far even for the show.. and it's not that's the problem it's the writing of the characters. They lost their personality instantly. The dialogue wasn't the same.
The show taking itself seriously in S1-5 is why it was so good. It had its comedic relief, but for the most part everything was a matter of life and death. You can save your goofy shit for Scooby Doo.
Right, but here's the thing. Every season has about 20 episodes. You can't be serious matter of life and death all the time, now can you?
And before you complain about the seasons being unnecessarily long: That was the format at the time, most shows had just as many episodes

Like I said, even the early seasons had it's comic relief, but you almost certainly can make 90% of episodes serious. There's PLENTY of cryptids out there that would've been great to see and you can make great serious filler episodes with them. Hell, it would've even be interesting to see some SCP bullshit in there. There's a line to be drawn between humorous and straight up fricking goofy.

That's exactly why there's good and some bad episodes after Season 5. Season 5 is the actual ending, everything from 6 to 11 is like an expanded universe if you really wanna go into it. Everything after 11 is pure garbage especially when they almost go full woke in S13 or so.

There's no good after Season 5 because the serious part of the show can't be taken seriously because even the writers don't take it seriously and the humorous parts are just fricking goofy. Consistently breaking their own rules or pulling the same old "wow there's actually a way to beat the main villian this season i found it in this old book." You can only do that so many times before it gets fricking old. If you're going to continue the show (you really shouldn't), just have them hunt various cryptids and maybe make some silly ones with Bigfoot or something for your comedic relief.

literally the most boring parts of the show
Watching this show for the first time, o ly a few episodes in, but it's comfy. Am I right in that Dean's improvised cover stories that keep backfiring will be a running gag?
I memory holed almost everything after S5. All I can remember are those weird shapeshifter things in purgatory from like S7, british people in like s13, and nephilim and god in s14/15. Also weird multiverse shit somewhere around there too I think.
God damn this show sucked hard after 5. Oh btw GOD (literally GOD) is killable, and for some reason he doesn't instantly wipe out Dean and Sam. Only real reason for that is probably that he wants to die, but he kinda wants them to earn it so they feel good or something. Still comes off as super lame, especially Dean being killed in the most mundane way possible, something he'd never frick up. Just got finished killing God? Guess I'll just die to a vampire or some shit tossing me onto a spike. I forget exactly what happened, but you get the idea.
He probably should've died in the fight with God or something. Takes a bullet that was meant for the nephilim kid and dies. Imagine facing off against God and taking 0 losses, just made the whole thing even more unbelievable than it already was.
I didn't watch past like season 7 so I don't know what you're talking about but I feel like a simple death would be better for the character. Not old age but fight to the death with big powerful character they already did that shit like 9 times..
They take on God in the final season or two because the writers are moronic. They beat God because they're brothers then 5 minutes later they go back to cleansing the world and Dean immediately dies to some shitty monster pushing him onto a spike. That's about as much as I recall. >Not old age but fight to the death with big powerful character they already did that shit like 9 times..
Show should've ended at S5, but I see your point. Nonetheless, it's still stupid to see him die after taking on literal God with barely a scratch.
He's so fricking useless. I like the actor and I think he did an wonderful job playing those alternate versions (alternate world Castiel, the void, possessed by Lucifer, etc), but that character is so fricking weak 90% of the time
Lucifer certainly was charismatic. I liked him too. Haven't finished the show yet but I was kinda hoping he would become a regular like former some villains but it doesn't seem like that's happening
I know of at least two, there's the one in the first season and another one later on where the kid avenges his father that got killed by the racist pohleese
No young Bobby on the show. Maybe it would have happened in season 2 but it's dead now.

It's crazy that there's an entire Supernatural universe and they failed to capitalize on one single spinoff. The fan base is literally built in. I watched the Ghostfacers series for fricks sake.
But the best they could do was fall back on Dad & Mary? For a story everyone already knew about and didn't care.

John and Mary were a fine choice for a spin off IMO. What other characters should they have done? Young Bobby and Rufus show? I think the ratings were fine and they probably would have gotten a second season if the CW weren't purging most of their shows.

None of the characters is likable enough to have a spinoff. Maybe Crowley.
Can you imagine a Jack or Castiel show? I personally would love one focused on angels but that would be just a money sink as far as I'm concerned

Again, I've seen the other spinoffs, I realize that oustide of S1-5, Supernatural was creatively bankrupt.
They literally time traveled, even brought the mom back to life. Saw Dad as a youngster too. That story is done, it's played out. And if it wasn't, you can't have 13 seasons of THE END OF THE WORLD and try a no stakes tv series. We've seen the future already, we know how it all ends. This did not need a fricking prequel!
Just because it was the best option, doesn't make it the right one. And no Bobby? Miss me with that shit!

No I agree. I was never a Bobby or Cass fan. Someone said earlier that Cass's human host was a more interesting character and I 100% agree.
And Bobby is a know it all Mary Sue. Frick that b***h ass homie. But still, he should have been in any conceived prequel. Hell, make him a villain that gets redeemed thanks to Mary & I forget the Dad's name.
why does supernatural feel so cheap? did they have a tiny budget or what. and the plots are almost always pulpy and they have no original setting at all. that being said I do like the show when it doesn't feel like I'm watching a soap with a ghost in it. I've seen up to season 3 and it seems as if they still have not discovered an identity for the show beyond being very vaguely working class southern and the brothers share tender moments over largely manufactured drama so women are pleased.
The one off stories that don't take themselves seriously were the only reason I got to s13 post Leviathan. Levithan arc was okay at best but I find the story arc episodes beyond that to be super shit and become a slog for the most part.
Even though I like the one off episodes the most, I still find things I enjoy about the "main story" in the late seasons. For example, I liked the fall of the angels as a concept. Of course, that season went bad at some point but at the least they had the right idea lol.
Also, because she show has 15 seasons its hard to not become a slog. I'm okay with that because it became to me a comfy show that I watch while having lunch

Just hit season 8 in my rewatch and I wonder if it's stockholm syndrome kicking in or if this season is actually decent. Season 6 had some A+ episodes but had more dogshit episodes. Whereas season 7 was more consistent, but that consistent was a C-.
Last episode I watched was the Season 8 Blair Witch style episode and it was great.
Season 6+ are like the Star Wars Expanded Universe novels. There's some fun stuff there but a lot garbage. If you like the characters by the end of season 5, it can be a fun ride.

I've rewatched seasons 1-3 like eight times since they first aired but I'm in my first watch of the full series. I really disliked the latter half of s4 and most of s5 and almost quit. The show became less grungy monster hunting and more overwrought relationship melodrama and that REALLY killed it for me. I was totally expecting to hate everything after s5 but the melodrama lets up and the show stops taking itself so seriously and it becomes super fun again. They never really recapture the awesome vibes of the first three seasons, but so far (I'm in the middle of season 12 rn) it's stayed consistently fun since then.
Also Jensen Ackles absolutely carries the frick out of this show. They could drop Sam entirely and I would just watch Dean: The Show forever. Demon Dean was fricking KINO and I'm mad they didn't make a whole season out of that.
been thinking of doing a rewatch myself, it's been a while
I do shuffle episodes on Plex whenever I clean or want some background noise so I've seen episodes recently

I do that with Veep, I listen to it while falling asleep
I tried to watch this once, but didn’t make it through the first season or two because all the episodes were the same thing just with a different monster. Does it get a little more varied?
Back in the day there was a spoiler site that said the last episode would Have Cas get killed by Sam, Resurrected and fight a horde of demons. Then God chuck being inspired by the brothers devotion to free will would grab satan and put him back in the cage. The last scene was supposed to be the brothers diving off thinking what's next. In hindsight that would of been a much better ending.

He's so fricking useless. I like the actor and I think he did an wonderful job playing those alternate versions (alternate world Castiel, the void, possessed by Lucifer, etc), but that character is so fricking weak 90% of the time
>Lucifer
For the record I really like their portrayal of Satan in this show.
Lucifer certainly was charismatic. I liked him too. Haven't finished the show yet but I was kinda hoping he would become a regular like former some villains but it doesn't seem like that's happening
You never know.
Mark Pellegrino fricking kills this role. Love almost every second of him on screen.
Except when he's playing stupid Nick, right?
I read each episode description beforehand and skip all the ones about racial justice, will I miss anything good?
You're skipping one episode then, the chicago spin off pilot.
I know of at least two, there's the one in the first season and another one later on where the kid avenges his father that got killed by the racist pohleese
The only "cursed" about Supernatural is it's spin off shows, lolz.
So many tries, so many failures. And yet Walker is on Season 4. Truly cursed.
I would have watched the cute girl one with the Minnesota cop and the pixie cut lady.
I liked The Winchesters... RIP.
So you're the one?
Did it have a young Bobby in it? Picture?
No young Bobby on the show. Maybe it would have happened in season 2 but it's dead now.
Mary was hot.
She literally sucked and fricked Yellow Eyes. What a prostitute.
While he was in the body of her father too.
They really pussied out by having the deal Mary made be so vague.
>gf makes a deal with a demon to bring you back from the dead
>essentially sells your kid in the progress
Rate Mary as a gf.
>comes back from the dead
>abandons her children
Just woman things.
Was she the character they ruined the most?
That's fine, they had a spare child
Man frick Bobby
I've seen up to season 3 and it seems as if they still have not discovered an identity for the show beyond being very vaguely working class southern and the brothers share tender moments over largely manufactured drama so women are pleased.
>did they have a tiny budget or what
Yes. Shoestring is a more accurate term.
Filmed in vancouver
Why is Dean so much more popular than Sam, even with women?
Dean is cool. Sam is whiny and annoying.
Honestly, those random meta episodes are what kept the show alive for me
The one off stories that don't take themselves seriously were the only reason I got to s13 post Leviathan.
>AND DON'T IT FEEL GOOD? HEY!
I lost this little gem of a webm. thanks anon!
It's like he knew what she would do to MST3K
>Oh hey anon. Didn't see you there. Is that a boner in your pocket?
She was so cute
they originally planned for Jo to be his sister.
Life half sister?
Yep, network pushed back hard after seein gthe first time they met being flirting into the reveal of she's johns daughter
Kek, that would've been funny. I wonder why they killed off Jo, she was nice. Maybe she had other projects at the time
I know she did Burn Notice a few years later.
I'm still angry.
About?
I just realized she was in Veronica Mars. I knew I knew her from somewhere
The end of Burn Notice and the way things were handled and the choices some people made.
Burn Notice got Looooooooooong in the tooth.
I watched the final season blackout drunk - I'm glad it's over and won't revisit now that I'm sober.
https://www.tvinsider.com/1056928/supernatural-jo-dean-love-interest-half-sister/
>Tal joined the Supernatural Then and Now podcast, in which hosts Rob Benedict (Chuck Shurley/God) and Richard Speight Jr. (Gabriel) go through the series with guests from the cast and crew, to discuss that episode and revealed that there was almost a different connection between possible love interests Jo and Dean: half-siblings.
>“If I remember correctly, because it was so long ago, there were a lot of life changes to this living thing called The Roadhouse crew,” she shared. “But when I first talked to [creator] Eric Kripke about it, he did say that [there] was [the] potential that I was like a little sister, a half-sister. That was something that could have happened.”
>Kripke apparently wasn’t sure if he wanted to go the love interest or half-sibling route with Jo. Tal wasn’t sure if it was the network or not, but added, “somebody wanted it to be a love interest. He was amused by the thought of they were going towards love interest then finding out that she’s a half-sister. I think it was a little too much for the network back then.” She did, however, think it would’ve been “fun” and “really funny” to play “with the potential love interest but never fully going there and then finding out that she was a half-sister.”
Jo in the Adam role would have been fun.
The nerdy guy was legitimately insufferable
>NOOO DON'T FORCE ME TO DRINK YOUR BLOOD AND GET COOL POWERS AND HAVE SEX WITH YOU NOOOO DEAAN HALP
>Katie Cassidy
I'd become her skin suit any day of the week!
the Hell Hounds on this show fricking looked bad as... Hell!
here's a picture of one
I heard they got James Cameron to do the CGI as a favor to Kripke.
The actors looked really good with glasses I'll tell you that much
>What's a tummybawd?
Was it ever explained why they left their half brother (Adam?) trapped in Hell so long?
Sam and Dean care about anyone besides each other challenge (Impossible)
That's what I find likable about them.
Me too. Not counting Bobby, of course.
Nice.
Why stop at five? What happens in six and onwards?
Five is when the original story arc ends. It has a satisfying conclusion. The rest of the seasons vary in quality from outright trash to pretty good.
Oh, okay then. So if I'm to watch it, Season 5 is the cut off and the rest is just chaff?
You'd miss some fan favorite stuff.
Fair enough then, I'll have a look
Season 6+ are like the Star Wars Expanded Universe novels. There's some fun stuff there but a lot garbage. If you like the characters by the end of season 5, it can be a fun ride.
Post 5 the writers threw every possible storyline at the wall to see if it sticks. Once they start going to Limbo, shit gets moronic real quick
Can you name like 3 episodes from season 10-15 that I should watch if I hate later seasons?
MoTW got old by Season 3, no idea why they stuck to it but I guess its the old TV format of 20+ episodes.
Just binged S1-S13 and I need to stop. I'm completely oversaturated by Supernatural.
I want her
Underrated character? I wish she appeared more
Me and the wife started watching it this year, we just kind of dropped it somewhere around season 8
Did you know Supernatural is a show for fat women and homosexuals? It’s true. Thems the facts
Even the early seasons were too WIKE for my taste. WIKEness really has a way of ruining Ann otherwise tasty kino. Shabadoo
Jared used to be so cute.
You can't escape polish ogre genes...
Isn;t he still good looking?
What do you think?
Obviously he is, but not nearly as attractive as he'd been
That landscaped beard doesn't look good.
He and Jensen must have a beard kink
been thinking of doing a rewatch myself, it's been a while
I do shuffle episodes on Plex whenever I clean or want some background noise so I've seen episodes recently
Based. I do that with Star Trek the Next Generation
I do that with Veep, I listen to it while falling asleep
SAMMY
Who watched the anime?
I tried to watch this once, but didn’t make it through the first season or two because all the episodes were the same thing just with a different monster. Does it get a little more varied?
Back in the day there was a spoiler site that said the last episode would Have Cas get killed by Sam, Resurrected and fight a horde of demons. Then God chuck being inspired by the brothers devotion to free will would grab satan and put him back in the cage. The last scene was supposed to be the brothers diving off thinking what's next. In hindsight that would of been a much better ending.
So who wins, Cinemaphile?

Rise and shine Sammy
Being that beautiful should be a crime.
This show is the epitome of sunk cost fallacy, and I say that as someone who has watched it multiple times
People really have fricking nothing to watch these days. I walked in on my roommate watching fricking mockingjay today
