Yeah Apple and HBO are leagues above all others. A show that sounds promising doesn't get a look in from me if I see it's on Netflix. Disney+ has nothing going for it besides Andor, and Amazon has nothing whatsoever, although they do have a good sized library.
If a show is on Apple and it sounds good it'll be worth a watch, and if a show is on HBO to me it's worth a look even if I don't like the sound of the premise.

No but media can mean different things to different people and to compare a TV show to a book is oranges and apples. No adaptation can ever be completely faithful to it's origin because the medium in which you tell a story is intrinsic to itself. You were always going to be disappointed by it because it could never be the same story as the book.

              Anonymous

I know what you mean but whole story lines from the TV show don't exist in the book at all and the changes make absolutely no sense to me in other regards. Still not a bad show as I said (I kept it on my HDD because of the Blade Runner chick) but pretty average overall.

The prophet character sounded better in the books. Was the Irish guy gay in the books too?

            Anonymous

From memory, no. In the book he's just Clark's friend and is a British punk-rocker who shaves half his head and opens up the museum as kind of a warm bookshop.

The show makes him a bit darker, and implies that he's trying to hold on to the past with his museum and control the settlement, which reflects him wanting to hold onto his relationship with Arthur (being left behind while his unrequited lover succeeds).

In the book he's more a fun uncle, in the show he's more Claudius.

      >And everyone died because anti-vaxxers! If only everyone had injected themself with big pharma nothing bad would ever happen!

white male character tries to join the troupe but is really pathetic and laughed at but they let him join anyway. evil militia survivalists are all white, so is the guy that breaks into the apartment. really, really pathetic if i'm being honest.

There's a certain viewer who fellates shows like this and Leftovers and movies like Annihilation. You know, dumb chick shit.

The best parts of Station was the little girl and the two brothers bonding through the aftermath of civilizational collapse. Much of the rest of this show is so moronic. The whole plot with the kid who grows up to be a cult leader of children is asinine.
