Paulie betrayed Tony at the end?

Just finished re-watching the Soprano's for the first time in years.
Paulie had a hand in Tony's death, didn't he?

Yeah he was a piece of shit. Ralphie was right about him (he was also based).

Tony took him out to whack him and then lost his nerve. Paulie knew what the frick was up and that it was just a matter of time before Tony grew the nuts.

No. Tony is a fricking moron
    >Tony gets rid of Phil
    >Butchie becomes boss
    >Tony stuck a gun in Butchie's face a few eps before
    >Tony essentially whacked a mob boss in Phil

why is butchie so fricking ugly?

One of the most popular theories is that New York allowed Phil to go down so they could then wipe out Tony and all his main guys and absorb that pygmy thing with a willing and capitulating Paulie (pure survivor) and Patsy (soon to be father in law of deceased former boss' family, brother of man Tony murdered).

Also even if Tony wasn't whacked he was going to be fricked in the ass by RICO very shortly with Carlo testifying to try and save his son who got picked up on drug charges.

Yeah it really was all ogre and that was really the meaning of the ending. Tony reached the end of the line, whether that was via indictment or murder. It's all set up to convey that message, especially when juxtaposed with Junior's last scenes where he lived long enough to forget he even ran North Jersey. Regardless of who ordered the hit or why, it was the end.

What was Sirico he like at the end? He was still alive when they started Talking Sopranos and he was the only living main character who didn't appear on the show in any capacity. Was he just a blatant racist at the end who couldn't be trusted to speak or what?

They bleed an awesome series out so bad that they only way they can end is to fade to black, and idiots like you fill it in with fanfic.

Great work if you can get it.

How did they "bleed it out"?

      >foreshadow the ending the entire time
      >even confirms that the ending was meant to be tony getting killed
      >fade to black to show its the end of the line rather than see a beloved character shot to death
      >bro wtf y show no think 4 me?
How much more obvious do you mental midgets need things to be?

Chase has never confirmed this, stop spreading falsehoods.

          >Co-author Matt Zoller Seitz caught the slip and called Chase out on it. “You realize, of course, that you just referred to that as a death scene,” he told The Sopranos creator.
          >Realizing his mistake, Chase took a long pause. “Frick you guys,” he replied.

It was a cut to black and at one time Tony says that maybe that's what happens when you die.

Why did we never revisit the old woman that Uncle June smushed a pie into the face of? That was so viscerally disrespectful, why wasn't there more retaliation? Why did they bombard us with pop culture references in the first season and then just stop referencing frick all? How were the boys NEVER caught for the people they killed by throwing them over the bridge? The police obviously can recover and investigate those bodies easily, right? Why would Adrianna stay with Christopha after the first or second time getting horribly abused? How am I supposed to believe that a man like Tony Soprano wouldn't have been outwitted and outmaneuvered by more intelligent or cunning criminals YEARS before the show takes place?

      >Adrianna
      that happens in real life
      >more cunning criminals
they'd rather be working in New York making the big bucks then little league Jersey.

Those people jumped off the bridge because they didn't wanna live no more.
Pay more attention on your next rewatch.

Tony did not die in the end. If he had, we would have heard gunshots before the cut to black.

The bullet is faster than the sound. We were in Tony's point of view when it happened. He would have been dead before the sound reached his ears which is why we don't hear it.

No, that was also foreshadowed in that scene where Silvio is sitting at a table when someone else gets shot and you don't hear shit.

No. Paulie was too stupid to whack Tony in a contrived manner.
