Coming after TD S1 was hard enough, but TD S2E1 is fricking trash, if we're being honest. It's the worst S2 episode ever. No wonder people turned on it.
That's too bad though, because it's still some pretty good tv.
S1 is the best because of one reason, Rust Kohle. Overall S3 is better.
The main problem with S2 is it's focused too much on the characters, and there are too many of them, so the mystery takes a backseat. Rachel McAdams and the gay guy were superfluous.
>S1 is the best because of one reason, Rust Kohle.
Frick that, everyone did a great job, the characters were great, the story felt like there was more to it without going full moron, the pacing was almost perfect.
>I always said I'd settle down and farm if my Frankposting career fizzled, well I'm all out of captchas and the fields are covered in dangerous heavy metals that prevent planting
Eugene told me, an old friend from the Milwaukee days, that you should never buy the cow when you can simply frick the cow for free at night when the farmer sleeps. Caspere knew this.
I don't like any season of TD but season 2 is one of those things contractions latch onto so they can feel smug and superior to everyone who didn't 'get' it. Similar to Death Grips, Finnegan's Wake, Pynchon, Terrance Malick.
I rewatched S2 last month. It holds up, the Michael Mann influence is very strong, but the plot was very convoluted and confusing to normies. Also having 4 protagonists was a bad idea, it should've been Velcoro as lead and the others as support.
It was good but it wasn’t season 1. It had almost none of the same elements. It was in modern day LA instead of in the past in Louisiana. And the occult and potential supernatural elements were completely absent. (Unless you count that one Vince Vaughn scene) Season 3 was more of a return to form than season 2 was. It should have just been a stand alone single season series like how We Own the Night was. Although We Own the Night was based on a true story.
Night country was dead on arrival as soon as they showed they had cast some high T dyke mutt with a pin cushion for a face. I had originally hoped being in Alaska it would tie in somehow with season 1 but it was obvious immediately it was going to be some stronk wahman woke slop when details started to emerge. Saved myself time and just watched some bong gay’s spoiler review of it.
It's so good.
>True Detecive: season 2 is good
Caspere knew this.

I think I’m gonna start wearing a bolo tie.
Bolo ties are... really in right now.
it's so fricking kino

Fair enough, but the ending was so bad. Everyone just ignores that. Brings the whole thing down a notch imo.
>Rachel McAdams and the gay guy were superfluous.
This. What a fricking waste of time on either of them. Dragged the whole season and its pacing down.
Marty was very good and the villain himself pulled alot of the weight
That webm just showed why Season 2 is great though.
holy based, but that kid looks like 15/16, not 12. What are they putting in the water?
>first ep was ba...
Did he have the brass knuckles on the whole time and they didn't think it was weird? I can't see when he could have put them on.
He puts them on when the dad goes to retrieve the son
>people keep saying they like their eggs sunny side up. but guess what, Ray? I'm the oil and the pan that frickin' fries 'em.
People really can't Frankpost for shit.
Never lay down, Ray. Not even when you're dead.

You see Frank in the op and expect to see some serious frank posting. The lack of it itt is giving me blue-balls of the heart
ASS-pen

it was always good, just different to and not as good as season 1
there were just too many main characters for there to be a proper payoff for each of them. The season should have focused on Ray and Frank only.
Disagree, Gay was given enough for his actual role. The only real weak spot was Woman.
>normalgays starting to realize how great S2 was
It's so over.
if you didn't like it when the show was actually airing/remember the live threads then you don't deserve to post about S2
its not good
its GREAT
It's dogshit. Can't believe Cinemaphile contrarians actually gaslit morons into believing it's quality entertainment. It's hack shit.
Op knows dualities have got to be affected to serve public interest,
but do you want this thread continued or not?

this is a very sad shill campaign
>this is a very sad shill campaign
newbie spotted
Im approaching 40 and I havent even seen any of the True Detectives
don't judge me
you are very lucky to have True Detective S1 to see for the first time, one of the greatest singular seasons of tv of all time
Past a certain age etc.
