Actually, I like House for his openly shown cynism and the way he comes to conclusions.
I like the character. Even if I could never be like him, cause I would lose all my shit by being such an ass.

He really goes to the borders.

It's actually not. House (or someone else) always solves it while doing something entirely unrelated to the actual case that jogs his brain and results in a metaphorical revelation.

          Anonymous

And the revelation was ALWAYS around 41st minute mark. The show had gotten really formulaic around season 4.

Figuring out the formula for House is what got me to stop watching the show.

Shame because some of the best moments in House were when they broke the formula and did something random, like the episode where House, Chase, and Wilson go speed-dating. That shit was comedy gold. The writers should have spent more time figuring out more funny situations to put House in, like getting pulled over by a cop who starts getting annoying by his smug snarkiness, or maybe House and Wilson go to a basketball match and House is sitting there like "my God.... I hate all these people" and Wilson is playing the normie "Just try to relax. Here I'll get you a beer, you'll have a good time" and they run into some obnoxious fan with face paint on and everything. There was a lot of untapped potential in it being more of a comedy show than a straight up drama.

This is the laziest ahegao I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot of dismal attempts. Just someone that doesn't get it at a fundamental level following poor instructions from a photographer, I guess, so it's not the model's fault. But it's dissapointing to see anyway.

House is exactly like me if I went to medical school and became a doctor and made a career out of it and could talk to women.

It was a good show, you are just being contrarian.

Zoomers truly and honestly can't understand House, MD, because it doesn't make sense in the current political climate. House is pure, unfiltered, 100% neckbeard concentrate. It came about in the early 2000s, when Christianity had just fallen off as the number one social power in America and Richard Dawkins' atheism was spreading like wildfire. It was an era when millions of neckbeards and legbeards formed their whole identity around being an atheist. It's not so much what they actually were, but what they perceived themselves to be:
      >misunderstood intellectual
      >misanthrope, because everyone else is too stupid
      >bitter over the fact that "funDIES" get to be happy believing in their imaginary friend le sky fairy, while intellectual scientician atheists are burdened with the truth
      >nothing else matters in life other than being right; being logically correct supersedes all social niceties and happiness in life
Nothing exemplifies this more than the episode where the super genius patient takes drugs to mentally castrate his intellect so he can be happy with his hot-but-dumb wife.

So no, OP is not trolling or making a joke. House is Literally Me: The Series. It's just that the target audience really doesn't exist anymore. While there obviously are still atheists, the atheism subculture as long since gotten replaced by social justice.

House basically operated on the model of b***hes he wanted to frick and assumed that they were all borderline smart enough if they got to the hospital he's working at and wanted to be on his team, were recommended to be on his team, or volunteered to be on his team. As a consequence, they were all hot and minus the CIA chick, all smart. It was a win win that worked out for him. Minus Cameron, but she set herself up for failure when House saw through her and called her out on it. Ironically, that made her more attracted to him, but she settled for Chase, who ended up being House's protege and ultimately broke up with him when she realized that the only way to properly break up with House was to leave everything around House behind.

She had a proper start, conflict, climax, and resolution arc among all the female characters. Also Thirteen, but Olivia Wilde is incredibly sexy in her own right, so yeah. Cameron and Hadley were 10/10.

House has a IQ of 140 or more and is considered a genius. Not by his mother or himself but by many other professionals and experts in his field.
Of course, if you have _this_ talent, you could and would go a House way.
If you act like House without talent, you would be considered a butthole and nobody would deal with you.
With his taltent, you are an excentric genius. Like Nash or Wiener or Feynman.
The people excuses a lot for geniuses.

Additional to that, House has had a serious health condition with his leg. Everybody would feel pitty with him.

                > Yes, this is Mensa IQ, there are millions of members of Mensa who have shit lives because they have no connections, including me.

At first. Contrary to some Internet memes, not every intelligent person joins Mensa for an elite club experience.
It has been suggested that Mensa members actually represent the less successful high IQ individuals.
Consider this: If you have an IQ of 140 and go through the usual carriere. University, academic work, etc. Do you still need a club like Mensa to talk to highly intelligent people? Of course not. You would be surrounded by very intelligent people.

Second, House is not a neet or something.
He has learned a lot and apperently useful stuff. Like the diagnosis of seltdom illnesses.

His knowleade and talent within the medical field has some merit. A high IQ neet has not that worth.
                The stags are lower.

                > You mean without nepo backing.
House comes form a normal, middle class backround.

Its more the other way around. Both, Doctor House and the new way atheism are part of the same cultural tendency.

Around the year 2000, there was a unique Zeitgeist, a prevailing atmosphere of the mind. The political left were deeply troubled by the presidency of George W. Bush.
At the same time, 9/11 happend.
This two indepentend things shared one things in common: A religious conservate view.

So, many intellectualls goes full retared about religion.
We have Dawkins "the God delusion", we observe some shows like House and some internet weirdos who shit publicly on religion.

In the deep root, its the same oveall point.

This show is actually way too formulaic and all the characters are cringe and unrealistic, especially house. Terrible writing, frick this overrated turd, and frick anyone for liking it.

As a brit, I still find it hilarious that Hugh Laurie became a sex symbol to American housewives and daddy's girls

It's a good show irregardless. It's the best procedural out there, and i know because i tried watching a lot to get the same house high.

    >That’s all right, you don’t have to say anything. Just let me soak into your subconscious. You think that the only truth that matters is the truth that can be measured. Good intentions don’t count, what’s in your heart doesn’t count, caring doesn’t count, that a man’s life can’t be measured by how many tears are shed when he dies. It’s because you can’t measure them. It’s because you don’t want to measure them. Doesn’t mean it’s not real.
    >And even if I’m wrong, you’re still miserable. Did you really think that your life’s purpose was to sacrifice yourself and get nothing in return? No. You believe there is no purpose to anything. Even the lives you save you dismiss. You turn the one decent thing in your life and you taint it, strip it of all meaning. You’re miserable for nothing. I don’t know why you’d want to live.

      >I'm right.
      >But I'm unhappy.
      >But I'm right.
      >But maybe I shouldn't be a jerk about it.
      >But I'm right.
Why are atheist themes all so shallow? Literally the same shit as The Invention of Lying and Sausage Party.
