You do realize that Robot Chicken bit was a skit right? Lucas obviously didn’t like Mara Jade marrying Luke, but he approved it happening. He even collected EU art at Skywalker Ranch which contained panels featuring her from the Dark Horse Thrawn trilogy comic adaptation.
Also, Lucas’s opinion means very little to me as he’s directly responsible for all this slop before you respond saying the EU was never canon. There are three canons, Disney, George and EU and I choose the EU ten times out of ten.

Are you moronic? Because you don’t understand what fanfiction means, the EU was published material by companies that Lucas owned for forty years. Lucas made millions off of books, comics, games everything. If he didn’t want his world to be tampered with, he should’ve never have let his sandbox be opened up to others.

I mean, obviously that would’ve happened. But they were also just treatments he was only writing at the time to increase the value of Lucasfilm before the Disney sale, treatments which we know now will more than likely will never be made with Bob Iger and Kennedy involved in Lucasfilm and Disney.

anybody have an idea how far Disney is away from recouping the 4 billion they paid Lucas? Wouldn't be surprised if they're still 2 billion away from breaking even, given all the expenses on the 5 movies, the shows they've made, that fricking hotel, etc.
Does anyone care? It's really only niche places like this that are even paying attention. I genuinely think studios and tv/film are dead. Like completely dead and they're a shambling zombie that keeps going. I put it at 10 years and most of the studios will be bankrupt and bought out, and that incldues Disney.
Star Wars was killed by the EA exclusivity deal. There was a five year period without a single new Star Wars game to put under the xmas tree, resulting in an entire crop not having xmas morning video game nostaliga for the brand. Most of the zoomers i talk to have not seen an entire movie.
It would have never happened this way since the actual real show was always going to be 3D with the tech Lucas had developed for the PT, i.e. pre-viz. Lucas was interested in making a cinematic series with all the tech he had developed and utilizing film-making techniques that are not feasible in traditional cartoons, and heavy editorial process as opposed to traditional cartoon storyboarding. It was always gonna be 3D. And also, I have a hard time trusting Genndy's words, since it was never ever stated anywhere else but only by him a decade later, and in the same interview he sounded really salty that George disregarded and replaced his little shorts. The ego on that guy is palpable.
