Pirates of the Caribbean

Can something like this be done again? I don't want more sequels, but I want movies in this vein. A hearty budget well utilized, set design, costumes and props, and a cast of characters that endear with believable acting. Story doesn't have to be elaborate, just backed up by the characters' conviction.

Sorry, but Roger Corman just died

Oh, so you expect A MOVIE. Too bad, we're in the era of target-audience products and wide-audience products. Not that PotC wasn't part of the trend, but not everyone in the production team was doing a product, some were still thinking they are making a movie.

The people that made this were also associated with the 90s Zorro movie right?

She has the perfect body for period dramas. Can't think of someone that benefits more from Corsets

Not in the west, no. Get used to watching Bollywood song and dance blockbusters if you want actual moviemaking.

I'd rather never watch movies again than sit through three hours of warbling pajeets

Is hyping bollywood the new Cinemaphile meme? Or it's just another episode of zoomers going full zoom, since they can't feasibly remember the mid-to-late 00s?

They don't even do stunts or practical effects anymore, what makes you think they will just go back to ye old ways?
It's been over for a while now, and 20 years isn't that long ago. The movie industry would have to collapse and be reborn, have regulations so that execs don't get too greedy, have fresh and new blood in the industry, and have a cultural movement which is artistically healthy. There is a greater chance for Jesus to return to the Earth than for that to ever happen.

Besides, movies are also on the decline because the newer generations just don't give a shit about movies at all, why would they? They have video games and social media to use. Movies will just go the way of literature, a niche hobby that only a few participate in.

You mean 50's to early 70's right? That's when all the huge epics were made.

It's fun to think about how literally every aspect of your entire existence will become more and more hollow, more and more soulless, until you're left with a world of ash and bone that you beg to be released from

I know? I'm pointing out how doomed we all are to live in a crumbling empire with a dead culture, which I'm obviously subject to as well.

This movie was the dead corpse of a funny Disney ride. Johnny saved the entire movie. Industrial light and magic saved the sequel with Davy Jones.

sure, but you're going to get 40% POCS as your cast, and any "romance" is going to be between an african male and a white woman.

Live action One Piece. What a coincidence that it's also a pirate story, superficially speaking

    >inb4 it has non whites wahhh
So? I don't see you crying about Zoe Saldana or Penelope Cruz or whats her name that played the voodoo witch in 2 and 3
