They should have kept the tone more low-key and creepy like the earlier parts of the film. When SWAT teams start chasing him around in action chase sequences and shit the movie loses me.
The ending was quite gay. Whole movie felt like a thrilling roller coaster, and the ending was a build-up to the biggest incline of all - only for it to flatten out at the top and end the ride.
But anon, if the rollercoaster flattens out at the top, how are the passengers supposed to disembark? Also you're aware that usually rollercoasters just have one big drop and use momentum to get over the other ones? This simile is poopoo!
One of those movies you hear about as a kid that looks really cool and mysterious and it ends up being really fucking lame when you finally see it as an adult
Watching this today is mid because you've already been conditioned to understand the twist
At the time movies had "twists" but they never had double twists. Today 90% of a show's jokes are misdirection and it's why absurdist humor is so popular again now. Even quintuple twists aren't completely unexpected these days. 10 years ago the punch line to >why did the chicken cross the road >because it was being raped
Today it would be more like >why did the chicken cross the road >there is no chicken, I have taken an unsafe number of antihistamines and mixed it with alcohol, I have few moments left before losing consciousness
None, but they don't have to be. They just have to not be worse. If the reveal builds on what came before it, then it fits with the whole. This is just retarded rug pulling and smug subversion for its own sake.
>The story logic is lacking though.
where? the only thing that doesn't add up is the pranking company existing in the first place due to being a financial and juridic nightmare
I dropped it halfway through. It just all seems ridiculous and dumb when you see all of the vidya game advances in technology since that time. Douglas is a shit leading man also
Its not great, but its a very fun watch the first time through & it pulls off the "nested twist nested within a twist" bit very well. To quote the scene in the city club "I wish I could go back and do it for the first time all over again"
You lost. Just accept it.
I want that t-shirt from the end.
fat fuck, that shit was at least XXXL
Yeah, a smaller version
Damn it. I lost.
>Sean Penn has "panic attack" from opening glove compartment
>he already knew what was in it
>No one else is within 50 meters to see his fake reaction
>what is method acting
What plot twist?
he signs up to play a game and he plays a game
This. They go so far it convinces you that it can't be what was intended but in the end it's exactly what they said it was.
Which actually makes it a really good trick. If you can tell people what's coming and still surprise them then you're doing it right
I loved it. Would never watch it again though.
You had to be 17 when you saw it. One of those movies that makes you more open minded for all your best youth years.
They should have kept the tone more low-key and creepy like the earlier parts of the film. When SWAT teams start chasing him around in action chase sequences and shit the movie loses me.
I liked it until it wasn't a creepy conspiracy, goddammnit
for me, it was the happy ending. at least keep his bro dead

There's a ladder at the top that you borningly descend. Haven't you ever been on a bad roller coaster?
Just a prank, bro!
Reddit speaks
Fincher's worst movie by a mile. It's fucking dogshit
>Fincher's worst movie by a mile
that would be the overrated pos that is fight club, tied with the social network
>that would be the overrated pos that is fight club, tied with the social network
The Game is worse than either of those two turds
Pretty contrived and I've only seen it once, but I remember it well. So C+ movie I guess.

The correct opinion
wow
you're like a broccoli haired socrates
Don't make the mystery more interesting than the reveal. Should be a rule.
I'm David Fincher, and I say fuck your rule!
Fight Club has a twist that doesn't take away from everything that came before it. The Game doesn't and that's why it's shit.
>Don't make the mystery more interesting than the reveal. Should be a rule.
Name one reveal more interesting than the mystery

Good atmosphere and mystery!
The story logic is lacking though. Just don't think about it.
>The story logic is lacking though.

The ending fall?
that was the part that made the most sense
Ikr!
>>plot twist: the movie
>do people even like this? thought it was shit
Never saw it. Read the synopsis. What a bullshit ending.
I dropped it halfway through. It just all seems ridiculous and dumb when you see all of the vidya game advances in technology since that time. Douglas is a shit leading man also

holy shit opinion
