It was fun, Young Hag was kinda hot.
It'd probably be a Hotel Translyvania tier movie but seeing it in 2D makes you appreciate the concept of the animation a bit better.

She was just the right mix of Damel with Badass. It would've been easy for her to be an obnoxious Strong Independent Woman but they played up her weirdness and she took part in the slapstick

The rendered scene is already way different from the animatic, and they said it's gone from the final version completely. I wonder how many changes were there in the latest revision.

They cut a few things, but I think it makes sense. The finale of the movie feels a bit on the rushed side, I bet they wanted to extend the scene with popeye and the seahag/dad for a bit longer, as that was a bit anticlimatic.

It felt like a loop to me, One Piece definitely takes some inspiration from Popeye and this version of Popeye seems to take some inspiration from One Piece

Maybe. I don't think we have any info on how it happened. My take is Gendy himself gave the greenlight after getting sick and tired of trying to get it finished. At least this way all that effort hasn't gone to waste and people can see some version of it.

Yeah, that was the only thing I didn't like about the animatic. Also, Bluto have never been this pathetic before.

I didn't mind. There had to be priorities put somewhere, and the movie is pretty rushed as it is. Adding more Bluto would've made it just overloaded.
