I would suggest the following...
The Jeopardy Room
Death's Head Revisited
#12 Looks Just Like You.
There are a few more but I can't remember the title, but there's one that came out after The Cuban Revolution about how a dictator overthrew a government on a Caribbean island and turned out to be just as bad as the dictator he overthrew.
Me and my dad talked about this yesterday.
What's preventing a good Twilight Zone like show these days? You'd think social commentary is at its height but they always seem to fumble the ball. Is it more about the commentary rather than the "irony" that seems to hold it back?
It's because society is unironically too degenerate for stories with a moral lesson, people can only relate to shit like Black Mirror where it's "what if this literal bad thing literally happened to someone"
Nightcall for taking a simple mundane annoyance and succeeding in giving me the willies. I still find it a little unsettling when I have missed calls from unknown numbers on my phone.
>Modern zoomer version with Indian ghosts >"woooo good morning beutafol lady send bobs and vagene pics woooo"
An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge is the most overrated because it doesn't spend enough time focused on his escape like in the book.
You can't get the writers anymore and those that do make good scripts quickly become exhausted. It's not just tv crew either, many of the best episodes were based on written works that have been repurposed over the decades
And Then The Sky was Opened. Season 1 episode 11. Easily my favorite. It's hilarious and terrifying at the same time.
for example was also adapted into a TNG episode from the same story.
People don't read or make books anymore that translate well into television and TV writers are now a lowly-paid profession that nobody of any competence wants to do and with studios that will prefer to hire interns onto the writing team. For the latter problem it became especially profound following a series of writers strikes that have progressively crippled the industry.
Um sweetie, you forgot the Alfred Hitchwiener hour and iirc another similar show that was pretty good
t. did a meme American tv history class in college
It's not social commentary, it's relatable human characters. Current Sandman show has the same problem as Peele's Twilight Zone in that all the characters are exaggerated to the point of being irritant and every moment with drama is heightened to unnecessary melodrama.
I like the initial couple minutes of each episode before things get weird, like I can get a glimpse into the lives of the people of that era. It really was a different time.
the one where a person wakes up and everything is different from what they remember and is social commentary about how everyone is really shallow and fake
My favorites >where is everybody >and when the sky was opened >A world of difference >A stop at willoughby >The whole truth >The Arrival >It's a good life >Five characters in search of an exit >nightmare at 20,000 feet >night call >Stopover in a quiet town
Nah don’t tell me what to do you fricking gay homosexual. Sick of you gays getting me banned for calling you out on your gay fricking threads. Don’t ever tell me what to do. I will fricking find you.
The one about jannitotial services working without compensation
Leftist propaganda
What's bad about a propaganda against Evil ?

have a nice day
What about the episode where the leftist journalist releases satan into the world.
Me and my dad talked about this yesterday.

Any social commentary would offend me.
>What's preventing a good Twilight Zone like show these days?
They're too busy being woke.
They tried with Black Mirror, but every other episode turned out to be about cuckolding.
>Black Mirror
lol, what a piece of shit. But I love it - it's the ultimate dimwit filter, in that everyone who likes it is a pretentious fricktard.

One mistake they make is using color
Twilight Zone can only exist in b&w
TZ made you question what you thought, new shit tells you what to think
The best.
Black Mirror is the closest they got, but everything is trash. Also,
It's not like there were any good Twilight Zone like shows back in the day other than TZ itself.

My favorite episode is "Walking Distance" it's pure kino
10/10, superb writing
The one where the astronauts crash land a few miles outside of Vegas or whatever.
And the one where the one where the neighborhood's power goes out.
the one where a person wakes up and everything is different from what they remember and is social commentary about how everyone is really shallow and fake
so literally every episode
My favorites
>where is everybody
>and when the sky was opened

>The Arrival
>It's a good life
>Five characters in search of an exit

Yeah, A Stop at Willoughby is good, so is The Bewitching Pool.
Perchance to Dream but most of TZ episodes are good.
Mr.beavis
The Old Man in the Cave was one of the better from the 5th season.
Nah don’t tell me what to do you fricking gay homosexual. Sick of you gays getting me banned for calling you out on your gay fricking threads. Don’t ever tell me what to do. I will fricking find you.
Funny, *I* got banned on Cinemaphile for calling homosexuals homosexuals and then came here.
