This, I'm a "TT 2003" kid technically but NTT and subsequent DickKori comics are fricking bland. DickBabs banter is cute.

In the case of NTT, it's because Wolfman can't write romance or female characters to save his life. Dickory is literally propped up by DC for the sake of TT'03 secondaries who will never touch the comics.

There's so many utterly forgettable Dick ships and especially Babs ships(her second best known ship is with a fricking crippled old detective); and every excuse to dislike it is completely made up("they were RAISED together!"- no they were now. "They were like siblings!"- no, they were not.)
Babs is just the blandest, least interesting member of a Batfamily that has fricking Tim in it and her and Dick have never had good chemistry other than her teasing him back in the day and most people don't even remember that used to be a thing, let alone why it was [she straight up admitted she did it to manipulate him, because back then she used to be thirsty for Bruce which is still weird but whatever] so it's never really worked. Meanwhile Starfire only got cut out because the bat office had one of their schizo episodes over "HOW WILL BATFAMILY WORK IF SOMEONE HAS POWERS!?!?!?!" and also "But if Dick doesn't frick my waifu it's like I'M not frickign my waifu!" again so a relationship that was admittedly wheel spinning for a fair bit there but at least had a strong initial dynamic got the axe.

Starfire gets cut because the Titans are notorious anti-draws, and Wolfman drew out Dick and Kory's relationship for YEARS to the point it stopped being interesting. Had they gone with that wedding issue, Dick would have never gotten that solo he deserved so much.
Cass is infinitely more entertaining than Barbara ever was. And even Tim at least had the gimmick of being the most Robin Robin to ever Robin going for him.
