Terrible taste my guy
Whats wrong iyo
All my friends and I watch a movie a day and its fun to rate them, anyone is qualified
>fun to rate them
But I do. I either give them a like or not. Anything else is pointless; I’m not a reviewer.
I don’t rate films on Letterboxd—I’m not qualified to do so. I only give them likes.
I'm a reviewer, but I also don't rate. You can figure out my thoughts about a picture better from reading my review than a number. One man's 1 star is another's 2.5 stars. Not everyone uses the ABCDF metric.
Wow you are so deep and profound, stating that which has already been stated a million times.
Fricking die.
I'm not posting all of my 5s, here's a page
>watamote..
i just rated citizen kane a 1 star, swear down that movie sucked.
eyes wide shut overrated
red dragon is better than manhunter
pretty decent list
>i just rated citizen kane a 1 star, swear down that movie sucked.
>eyes wide shut overrated
>red dragon is better than manhunter
Only ones I’ve given out of 150 films so far
BASED BURNING FAN
only complaint is chinatown, boring as frick and incendies did the twist better
which 3
Godfathers and Good Bad Ugly.
Everything else is mediocre.
Films I would give a 5/5:
The Third Man
A Tree Grows In Brooklyn
Touch Of Evil
Vanishing Point(I know it isn't)
Ride The Pink Horse
Make Way For Tomorrow
That's it out of many thousands, been watching a movie almost every day since 1981.
What's the worst movie you've ever seen?
This is so bad.
As a legitimate big budget film, though it's hard to imagine a worse POS even with a $50,000 budget.
A guy gets too high on marijuana and drives a car out of an 8th story window. Because who doesn't have a car in their NYC apartment living room?
i picked the same two as the best movies on there.
schindlers list is very hard for me to rate. any movie that makes you have to think hard about them probably deserve close to a top score though?
Just bought a nice copy of this.
It's a DVD but it's nice packaging, hardcover book instead of a plastic case.
Fifty cents I can't say no, I have become a movie hoarder.
i havent bought a dvd in years. have like 300 sitting in boxes in my basement. people in my country are giving them away for free now. does bluray have the same region system?
I'm old anon, I paid $50.00 for a VHS in 1981.
To put that in perspctive, the same year I paid $29.00 for Daredevil #1 which is worth thousands now.
Oh well.
What movie?
>I'm old anon, I paid $50.00 for a VHS in 1981.
2022 = $160
>the same year I paid $29.00 for Daredevil #1
$93
How much did you sell the Daredevil for and when and how/to who?
I sold it back to the comic book store 5 years later for $60.
My Vanishing Point tape went in the trash when I got a disc player.
Most of the Blu-rays I own are region free, but there are also plenty of them that are region locked. 4K UHD blu-rays, which require a 4K disc player, are region free, so you don’t need to worry about geo-restrictions there.
no harakiri and city of god 5s? have you seen them?
I don't rate them that highly, no.
Good stuff though.
Good lists
There are only 3 good movies here.
Is there something wrong with you?
I count 5 kino films and a few good mindless / fun movies anon, what are your 3 and why are the rest shit?
you have to be more critical, not every movie you like can be a 5
My curve is pretty sexy no cap, i have just over 1000 films rated.
Here are my Letterboxd 5s, or at least some of them.
jesus christ anon, are you fricking 12? fricking kids movies and anime
Kids movies? Only seeing a few on that list
have a nice day
>saw
>jackass
>caddyshack
I’m thinking based
Fallen Angels? Nice taste. Superb movie.
fallen angels was bad
you seem to have watched a lot of super high rated old movies
do you not have blade runner 2049 rated? Most people have it above the original
i have 7 samurai and ikiru on my watch list, which do you like better?
I gave it 4.5.
I prefer the tears in the rain ending
both are very different movies
Ikiru's storytelling and narrative is very good, there is a scene around half an hour in that will freeze you, it's that captivating.
Seven Samurai is top tier action and characters.
Most of these are classics so this is kind of understandable even though I think there’s still too many. A lot of these other people in the thread are just very easily impressed though and give 5’s everything
hana bi is a 5 out of 5? that one sticks out to me
I'll never understand why people feel the need to make lists like this. A collage of various extremely popular and extremely well known and acclaimed films and series. This list is pointless to anyone but you. It screams of a desperate ploy for individuality, yet what you've done here could have just as easily been achieved by taking IMDB's or letterboxd's or any user aggregate site's top 250 and picking things at random. Little more than self-indulgent public masturbation.
I can agree with that, 5 stars are boring. Ofc everyone is going to give the goats 5 stars, like shawshank/godfather etc.
The 4s and 4.5s are where your personality comes out
for example, i have shit like RAN, Burning, shaun of the dead, kung fu panda, the wailing, princess bride
I think i do have some spicy takes in the 5s tho no?
Based clockwork orange ad ferris bueller enjoyer.
Please god bump down the jerk and gremlins
Whats wrong with Gremlins? Name one thing. The Jerk is probably slightly inflated and I should watch it again but I'd really like it to stay.
im norwegian and i get get over my autistic need to rate on a 1 to 6 scale.
I acutally havn't heard of most these movies, other than stalker, vertigo ( was mid) and nosferatu(bad)
i added napoleon to my watchlist but i think most incredibly old movies do not age well.
Fantasia 2000 basically functions as a disqualification. Among other reasons it just literally repackaged Sorcerers Apprentice
I don't have a letterboxd. I have a Metacritic.
IMDB here.
https://www.imdb.com/list/ls516371298/?st_dt=&mode=detail&page=1&sort=your_rating,desc
I’m hesitant to post these because they’re mostly niche films that that are highly personal to me and which I don’t want other people to see.
posting your LB is like opening a window to your soul.
is it porn?
but you want to post about how much you don't want to post. Cool, you're moronic.
showing people you soul shouldnt be taken lightly. we understand anon
uh, bros? Did I frick up last year?
I haven't posted my profile in a while.
I'll be going to see a biopic of Siegfried Sassoon tomorrow.
And I might watch an Indian movie about Lesbians.
There's a disturbing French documentary about Japanese prostitutes and drug addicts/dealers I need to get round to.

Been tired lately , concentration is wonky and been trying to exercise more.
>logging movies watched by ~50 users
where do you find this shit? private trackers?
i think rarelust has stuff thats not even on there
kung fu hustle stands up to multiple rewatches. i dont think most kung fu movies do
Come at me, i don't fear you.
is fail safe that good? i have it on my hd and i havent watched it
It's the thinking man's Strangelove
all you need to know is this:
>Fail Safe and Dr. Strangelove were both produced in the period after the Cuban Missile Crisis, when people became much more sensitive to the threat of nuclear war. Fail Safe so closely resembled Peter George's novel Red Alert, on which Dr. Strangelove was based, that Dr. Strangelove screenwriter/director Stanley Kubrick and George filed a copyright infringement lawsuit.[5] The case was settled out of court.[6] The result of the settlement was that Columbia Pictures, which had financed and was distributing Dr. Strangelove, also bought Fail Safe, which had been an independently financed production.[7] Kubrick insisted that the studio release his movie first.[8]
Basically, the production behind Fail Safe tried to make money upon George's idea and Kubrick vision, but Kubrick saw through it and made sure that Fail Safe would be no near on the level of Dr. Strangelove.
what
said is only true if u dislike dr strangelove. if you haven't seen either of them, I'd probably recommend watching Fail Safe first
I dont really rate movies on letterboxd, only like them, but if I had to think of 1 that I'd give a 5 it'd be end of eva
