His films are very hit and miss for me. Liked Zohan, Click and that boat one with Rachel; hated little Nicky and waterboy, couldn't get past the first 5 mins of (can't in this moment remember it's name, think it was about golf?)
Anyway my personal one is this, though it may be through a form of Stockholm syndrome as my sister watched it on video all the time and we only have one TV.
Nic Cage is reddits favorite actor there's nothing "power level" about jumping on his bandwagon and supporting the garbage he's currently making, it's what all the npcs are doing
My brother mostly and some of my friends
But the movie didn't receive very well
They even went so far to give Winona "worst actress of the year" award even tho she did a great job
I don't think there's a concerted effort/public sentiment to hate on O Brother though? I'm not exaggerating, every single person I personally know that's seen the movie enjoyed it
Are there people aware of this movie and not like it?
Not saying it's a perfect movie, but the type of person who would come across it, would most likely also enjoy it
I liked the first one and parts of the second. The third is pure shit.
Accurate.
The first is a whimsical adventure that hits the right tone for the book. And the opening scenes are dwarf battle kino. The third has too much zany orc fight slapstick filler.

Mr. Deeds is hilarious, I watch it at least once a year.
My personal "frick you, I liked it" movies: >All the Sharknado films.
They're based, frick you.
Seriously. If nothing else, Michael is a fricking BEAST in this movie. He is far more intimidating than even in the first Halloween (remember when he was RIGHT BEHIND Laurie and had a perfect kill and all he did was scratch her arm a little bit...?).
Always loved it, always will.

This was better than I expected. Lot of big personalities for the main characters (I hardly ever like Jack Black in stuff, Owen Wilson too to an extent) but it's more understated than you'd expect and has a clear heartwarming message at its heart. Like the other anon said, very comfy.
I usually read online that it bombed and that people thought it sucked but I've never met anyone IRL who didn't like it either. Same goes for street fighter.
there's some good lines in this from Claw and his cronies >take this idiot to the junkyard >*grabs the scientist* >no, not that idiot, this one >'wish you'd be more specific.. lotta idiots around here..'
the "henchman talks back to the bad boss guy" trope is one of my favs
Holy frick I thought that was Matthew Broderick fricking kek. >Hey so we need you to play a shitty knockoff Matthew Broderick because we couldn't afford him in this low budget sequel. We also couldn't afford to make a decent poster or pay you.
I was surprised to see the negative reactions to this movie from the mainstream. I walked out of it thinking it was the best MCU film in years. I am an Evil Dead fanboy though so maybe that’s why.
that one is actually really based.
the whole prison stuff is funny af and outside of it they even got carradine and a few other well known that guy actors, like stans lawyer and the prison director.
>they even got carradine
miss him so much. absolutely kino. should have done more voice acting roles. only voice acting role i think he did was danny phantom
completely fricking dumb with so many terrible decisions (making the gods three times the size of humans which adds nothing but make every scene look awkward) but somehow I was incredibly entertained
it was like one of those shitty 70s monster/adventure movies that was given a 2010s hollywood blockbuster budget
I’m sure this is bait but it’s a pretty realistic depiction of the evolution of language over time. people spoke English a thousand years ago but them and us would sound insanely different from each other. go look up the original Beowulf paper. that’s English, dude
I loved it until I read the book and realized it was way better. Still an underrated flick regardles.
They did a good job in some areas, but the "same actor different makeup" gimmick didn't always work and changing the last line to be different from the kino that the book used was dumb.
I'd say Tron: Legacy because everyone I meet irl is either indifferent or didn't like it but I do see a lot of people online that like it
I think it's really underrated and took a lot of the elements from the first and improved it
I loved the 2017 film, really like how Scarlett acted like a doll. It wasn't as deep as the 95 masterpiece but enjoyable all the same. Also really liked Arise and Sac_2045. Only Ghost in the Shell thing I dislike is the 2.0 version and every manga after that original.
Legacy is gorgeous. The stark black and teal color scheme is captivating.
I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. Never got the hate, it was funny as shit and I thought it had a nice message. My friends and I still quote it to this day.
Oh there was a movie about a house cleaner(?) girl who turns out to be a space princess, it had good scenery, even if it was all cgi, yet all the characters were absolute trash.

Jupiter Ascending, one of the worst movies I've ever seen in theaters.
This was the first Adam Sandler movie I didn't like as a kid. It's like Mr Deeds marks a turning point from Sandlers classic comedies to the less inspired movies he'd make for the rest of his career
anon this unironically one of my favorite movies. I just think most people don’t have the imagination to understand how many monumental changes he was making
Don't worry, it's completely ironic. It's one of the most hilariously terrible movies I've ever seen, and I always have a ton of fun watching it, but most people just seem to hate it so much that they don't find any humor in it at all.
This movie was hilarious and all of you morons who think it's shit because it isn't scary are braindead sheep marvel cuckgays that watch movies only under the lens that the film is marketed as
Jack and Jill
Shrek 2
Avengers: Endgame (was super kino to watch it with a bunch of friends on opening night)
Family guy
Stranger things
RRR
But everyone loves shrek 2
Adam Sandler is funny and i'm tired of pretending hes not
I cant believe he snuck in that scene where hes trying to explain to the audience why those 2 nations ate fighting. Good comedy otherwise.
He's funny but shit like Grown Ups is cringe as hell. I thought Hubie Halloween was the stupidest fun Halloween movie I've watched in a long time
His films are very hit and miss for me. Liked Zohan, Click and that boat one with Rachel; hated little Nicky and waterboy, couldn't get past the first 5 mins of (can't in this moment remember it's name, think it was about golf?)
You've got it all backwards m80
Hence the thread title.
Anyway my personal one is this, though it may be through a form of Stockholm syndrome as my sister watched it on video all the time and we only have one TV.
This one is the only movie both I and my dad liked
Was. Watched Murder Mystery a few weeks ago and I didn't smile once. Last one I liked from him was Just Go With It.
blended is kino
Yeah but his hit rate is like 5 to 1
pic not related
Frick you, idiot.
Good taste
Didn’t like this one but whatever

If you liked Jack and Jill then you're beyond saving
midwits think this movie is too dumb for them
terrible actor
>Jack and Jill
you even watched that lousy actor cross dress too?
this was my fav movie growing up. even had the gameboy game
Great film
For me?
Talladega nights. Way better chemistry than step Bros. Non stop laughter the minute Ricky Bobby becomes a driver

I've fapped to this scene more times than I can count
This movie had an amazing Soundtrack
This

Movie had one of the funniest fricking scenes ever -
>cobwebs
8 year old me thought that shit was the pinnacle of comedy
He always looks like Jack Nicholson in this poster
I watched this recently and was somewhat surprised how modern their take on mental illness was.
Also one of the other imaginary friends looked kind of like the Chad comic, I don't feel like pulling up a screen of it right now.
AND THEN WE POOP HER OUT ONTO THE TABLEJ

The original with non-israelite Gary Cooper was much better
I showed it to my friends. They hated it, I still love it though.
Same thing happened with this one.
frick you
you said you liked it after we left the cinema
Reddit
You Black folk need to hide your powerlevel.
Nic Cage is reddits favorite actor there's nothing "power level" about jumping on his bandwagon and supporting the garbage he's currently making, it's what all the npcs are doing
this is still the funniest thing i've ever seen in a film
Big Daddy and Wedding Singer are peak Sandler kino.
Big Daddy is supreme tier kino of the 90's

I liked this a lot. Its cozy af.
wtf anon, what grouchy homosexuals are you friends with? scary movie 1&2 is pure kino
This is why I come to Cinemaphile
I've never met a single person who didn't laugh their ass of at this scene
they stole the title
THEY STOLE THE TITLE.
Scary Movie was on the shelves and forgotten until like 2019. And Scream was produced under the working title Scary Movie too
Its kino. What do you think about the sequels?
Same but with this
I watched this a couple years ago and was surprised it had such a negative reception. It's not great or anything, but it's fine.
Based movie Bill Paxton's Jimmy buffet rip off character was hilarious
Scary Movie 1 and 2 are fricking hilarious!
I really do miss these kind of MAD Magazine style of humor.
TikTok doesn't come close
The first three are pretty funny. 4 has some funny moments but it's mostly shit.
the Detroit joke had me laughing so hard in the theater I had to leave for a few minutes
Take me the frick back
2000 had the vibes fr
This is the best one of the series

the best ZAZ movie after Naked Gun (yes better than Airplane)

They even went so far to give Winona "worst actress of the year" award even tho she did a great job
Transformers 2007
I don't think there's a concerted effort/public sentiment to hate on O Brother though? I'm not exaggerating, every single person I personally know that's seen the movie enjoyed it
It's disliked in the way that many people won't finish it out of boredom ie dislike.
i unironically think this is greatest sequel of all time and better than its predecessor
everyone loves this
too based
Are there people aware of this movie and not like it?
Not saying it's a perfect movie, but the type of person who would come across it, would most likely also enjoy it

Beautiful up on the big screen in 70mm 6 track dolby sound.
I liked the first one and parts of the second. The third is pure shit.
This part was kino though.
Accurate.
The first is a whimsical adventure that hits the right tone for the book. And the opening scenes are dwarf battle kino. The third has too much zany orc fight slapstick filler.
There were parts of all three I enjoyed, anyone ever get around to a fan edit?
there are a bunch of fan edits
Legit well made love letter to 80s fantasy action films. Some of the best practical effects in 20 years and the best Justin Theroux performance ever.
Mr. Deeds is hilarious, I watch it at least once a year.
My personal "frick you, I liked it" movies:
>All the Sharknado films.
They're based, frick you.
Do people not like this movie? I've never seen anyone hate on it, only the director.
I found it kind of annoying, but it wasn’t awful
How can anyone dislike this?
I dunno, but critics did.
how can you not like this?
Orson Welles was the GOAT King Louis
The Hot Chick and Pokemon First Movie.
Holy shit I thought I dreamed this movie
I guarantee absolutely nobody who sat down and watched this movie could tell you WHY they watched it.
It’s not a 10/10 movie but Brendan Fraser is excellent and he handles the premise really well
Yeah, my "frick you, I like it" is every Weasle movie. Encino Man, Biodome, In The Army Now. I dunno why, but I love Pauly Shore's Weasle character

I'll post the "worst" movie that I unironically enjoyed: picrel. I showed it to my friends and they all hated it.
Space Jam
>durrhurr it’s oversentimental/cheesy/bangs you over the head with its message
Yes. That’s what makes it so fricking good.
Seriously. If nothing else, Michael is a fricking BEAST in this movie. He is far more intimidating than even in the first Halloween (remember when he was RIGHT BEHIND Laurie and had a perfect kill and all he did was scratch her arm a little bit...?).
Always loved it, always will.

Frick pic didn't upload.
I wish Zombie would release the documentary on the making of this that's supposed to be like 8 hours
This is a bad example.
Mr. Deeds came at the end of Sandler-mania and most people were tired of his style of comedy.
If you thought it was bad, actually rewatch it. It is funny as hell. In sandler’s top 5, if not top 3 movies.
A pretty comfy movie.
This was better than I expected. Lot of big personalities for the main characters (I hardly ever like Jack Black in stuff, Owen Wilson too to an extent) but it's more understated than you'd expect and has a clear heartwarming message at its heart. Like the other anon said, very comfy.
My favorite Netflix film
MAKE IT ENGLAND!!!

My favorite isekai.
i like the one with whoopi goldberg better.

I usually read online that it bombed and that people thought it sucked but I've never met anyone IRL who didn't like it either. Same goes for street fighter.

I liked it too but its definitely a film for Raimi fans. I could understand being put off if you're not familiar with his style
Nice try, it’s a shit film regardless of his cinematographic style

My gay friend made me watch this and it was hilarious. Be sure to drink beer while watching.
Beerfest is good. It's the only good movie they made between Super Troopers and Super Troopers 2.
I love this movie

Sorry, dark meat and homosexual
Half the audience left before the film finished
I'm sure plenty here like it but im shocked how poorly recieved this was compared to borat

FRICK YOU I LIKED IT
anon this unironically one of my favorite movies.
I agree with you, and it's coming from someone who actually paid money to see this in theater
Looks like kino, is it legitimately good?
I think people don't appreciate worldbuilding as much as I do. You've got to give it props for actually succeeding in making Mcconaughey look badass.
I fricking love Reign of Fire, re-watched it a few years ago, underrated as frick tbqh.
it was a really cool movie, modern army against dragons, it was a cool surprise to see McConauguey as the bad guy.
It’s a fun to watch film, I like the giant wave at the end
This movie was hilarious and all of you morons who think it's shit because it isn't scary are braindead sheep marvel cuckgays that watch movies only under the lens that the film is marketed as

Used to get fricking blasted, put this movie on in the background and played WoW until 5 in the morning.
I liked Valerian and I'm tired of pretending it wasn't good (except Rihanna who ruined it)
Mine are already on here but just saw this and it’s obscure I think
I liked it
I thinks its awesome and it was my first Nicolas Cage movie.
Easily Pauly Shore's best movie.
Don't get me wrong, Biodome and Encino Man are good.
But Pauly is best in this one.
