Even if she never saw it happen how she behaved when Red picked a fight with the Irishmen tells how she feels about the whole situation even before seeing spear. She doesn't get involved until Red gets hurt and jumps in to help him. Then immediately upon seeing Spear she drops the kilt and the legs attached to them because she can put 2 and 2 together and knows how this whole thing looks to spear, a couple of monsters come to rip through some humans minding their own business. Spear ultimately chooses to stay with her and can figure there was more to the situation by how she tried to stop him and red from killing each other, but Id bet 5 bucks Fang feels a whole lot of regret and shame over the whole ordeal.

In many situations of her hunting it comes down to a fight and so that's how she responded to the situation with the knowledge she had

And the episode made it pretty clear that Spear wouldn't have lasted much longer after the Celts got their weapons to negate his strength advantage and cornered him, so I'd say the village chase sequence is pretty grounded compared to the rest of the show.
What if Red's appearance isn't that of a male of Fang's species, but actually a different subspecies??
