I would rather a director try to make something interesting and unique but incredibly flawed than a generic, by the numbers sequel.

someones going to post the axe now
Why do axes scare zoomers so badly? Is it because they can be used for work?
Outside of a couple alien designs it’s an incredibly generic and uninspired movie
Then what are some other movies about an advanced alien race growing bored with life and deciding to dissolve themselves so their DNA can give rise to new species and a new civilization?
Not even being ironic btw, I just like the concept.
Based. There are very few films like it. Captured an amazing scale and atmosphere for the concept
Just a variation on ancient aliens. And 'bored with life' is incredibly dull.
With a more polished script Prometheus would be viewed as a sci-fi classic and one of the best films of the 2010s.
Prometheus is based and nobody can take away my enjoyment watching it in theaters
It felt like a good first draft of a film, or like two or three good films chopped up and pasted together. It had potential though, and I agree that at least he TRIED something
the only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about
I really liked the concept but they picked the worst actors for this and the plot just gets progressively worse
>engineers spoke Proto-Indo-European
So who made non-Aryans?
the flaws where all b***h basic and should not have happened. and there was so many of them
it could and should have easily have been a 10/10.
I give 7/10
>Flamethrower
>Non air
Some scene were cool, they idea could have bene cool, but the script is just bad.
Very very bad.
i know when the next alien movie comes out we're all going to miss prometheus.
It really ought to have had nothing to do with Alien. The Engineers were a cool idea but it descended into slasher nonsense. A masterpiece compared to Alien: Covenant (which should have just been about robots)
Engineers are one of the worst things about it.
I'd really like to know Ridley's original plan for Covenant if he didn't decide to just make it xenos again. I highly doubt his original plan was to pull an Alien 3 and kill off Shaw off screen before the movie starts then just have David kill the engineers and never explore them.
>[scifi media] descended into slasher nonsense
sadly, a common fate
>interesting
No.
>unique
How?
its a movie where nothing matters and nothing gets answered, only contrarians love it
Aliens>Alien>Prometheus>everything else is dogshit
I really liked this short, but it sucks to know what happens to Shaw in covenant
a lot of things in this movie don't really make sense when you add them all together but it does have some fantastic scenes and really nice visuals
