His best movies are 1941 and Ready Player One
>le reddit nostalgia
Ready Player One sucked ass.
Well his two best movies are collaborations
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Poltergeist
This.
>ingratiously declined to fund what would've been Orsen's last film
>boomer bait since Pvt. Ryan all more morally questionable than Tarantino films' at least cartoonish violence.
What about A.I.?
oh yeah good call
A.I. is underrated. Everybody got filtered by the ending scene.
I still have never seen it. The theater had stopped showing it the day before so took the kids to How to Tame your Dragon instead.
All movies are collaborations you dipshit (that said, he verifiably did not direct Poltergeist)
how so? spielberg was on set every singe day and called most of the shots. this has been confirmed again and again by both actors (zelda rubinstein) and crew members (john leonetti). at best you could say hooper and spielberg co-directed but it was clearly spielberg being in charge.
his direction is competent, but he literally just apes the studio directors of the 40s
He's impressive for his output but he's not even close to the best
Kubrick is better.
t.pseud
ok steven
He's objectively top 10/top 15 of all time.
He's actually kind of bad at directing actors. George Lucas distracted people
Close encounters of the third kind, Indiana Jones Trilogy, Jurassic Park and Minority Report are the only good movies he has made. Then there's all the stinkers like The Color Purple, Always, Kundun, Schindler's List, Ready Player One... He's made so many garbage movies.
I was absolutely shocked by how bad Always was. The flying sequences are good though.
>low fantasy
I dont know if I'm just having bad luck but I'm repeatedly finding the most awful movies to be this genre.
Agreed, I'd love to find a good pile of low fantasy stuff but it's all ironically low ball stuff. It ends up being like how every dish prefaced with the word deconstructed, just a salvage operation on something they know they can't sell as is.
The problem with Spielberg is even his good movies lack any sort of signature style. Take Indiana Jones or Jurassic Park. They're fine movies. But wouldn't they be better if someone else directed them? What if Verhoeven directed Jurassic Park? What if John McTiernan or Tarantino directed Indiana Jones? Don't you think the end product would be less bland?
I think it’s a good thing he can adapt his directing style for the project he’s working on. Jurassic Park needed to be different in style to something like Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Spielberg is great because he’s excellent at visual storytelling, and his “long takes” are some of the best. He didn’t make films with tons of cuts/edits so you have no idea what was going on.
If you're good at what you do, you can seemingly leave zero footprints in your work if you need to (corporate bs like Marvel movies). If you're great at what you do, people can't help but notice your personal touch and they'll be disappointed if they find the following work lacking in the style and themes they've grown to expect.
Spielberg's got a style. Just because it's less ostentatious than Tarantino doesn't mean he doesn't have a signature style. His blocking and invisible oners are famous. I can tell you Tarantino wouldn't create that sense of wonder and awe we feel in JP and I like Tarantino.
Tarantino may have a distinctive style, but his directing skills are overrated to the extreme.
Both Tarantino an Spike Lee had little skill in using the movie camera in their early films, and still aren’t exceptional nowadays. Spike has gotten way better than he was. Tarantino is still sort of shit.
He literally made one actual kino (Schindler's List, unironically) and then made a bunch of blockbuster schlock before and after. He made the Marvel movies of the 80s.
Op here. Clicked on the wrong image, sorry
>>jews pretend he’s not the greatest director ever.
One good movie. Close Encounters. Everything else ranges from cinematic cancer to boring garbage.
Greatest director is either Lynch, Malick, Welles or Kubrick.
The guys relationship with his family rubbed me the wrong way. I think Spielberg said he would have changed that now that he has his own.
I haven't seen that since I was a kid. I will have to rewatch.
>Lynch
Your comment started out so well as well.
lynched
He was one of them. Was. Ready Player One is just sad and his obsession with kickstarting israeli actors is weird.
My name's Donovan. Irish, both sides. Mother and father. I'm Irish and you're German. But what makes us both Americans? Just one thing. One. Only one. The rule book. We call it the Constitution, and we agree to the rules, and that's what makes us Americans.
Soulless
Im no pseud.
I just think his films are gay.
I wouldn't say Spielberg is the best director but he does make the comfiest movies.
There's an inherently comfy "feel" to his directing style, down to the most basic elements of filmmaking. It's even evident in his first student film
>comfiest movies
I agree
The best director of children's films maybe but in everything else he is like Michael Bay but with a critics love cheat.
He helped kill heather orourke then cover it up. Him and other israelites, just like Epstein.
Shiksa comes from the hebrew word shegets which means abomination. Gentile girls are nothing but disposable playthings.
Hate speech is literally a crime. Enjoy your court appearance.
Did she die from anal sex?
Heather O’Rourke mysteriously died from an undiagnosed medical condition of intestinal bowel stenosis, a narrowing of the bowel which eventually caused the muscles to be strained, which likely burst, thus leading to fecal matter in her blood stream which in turn caused septic shock, and her death.

If she died from anal sex tearing her colon, then there would’ve been tears to her colon that would’ve been apparent upon an autopsy.
Did her doctors cover it up? I don’t think so, doctors and specialists are already well compensated, I seriously doubt they would cover up a case of child pedophilia even if they were offered millions of dollars.
She most likely died from a rare complication of an undiagnosed birth defect. Most doctors these days know to look out for this type of thing and it’s caught much more early than it used to be.
Sodomised by the israeli elites. Particularly beautiful female European girls stir up a lot of resent and hatred in them.
i dont watch israelite pedophile movies
I fricking hate his movies. I’m sorry if that makes me “contrarian” but it’s true. Laid the groundwork for capeshit and “it made money therefore it GOOD” mentality.
him and lucas are equally guilty of birthing the modern blockbuster cancer.
>Ctrl + F
>No mention of Munich
One of his best films and it’s severely underrated.
Spielberg is like the predecessor to Joss Whedon. Fiercely competent in his field, but ultimately commercial as hell and while it's all easily consumed as intended and occasionally lends to innovation it's rarely something to be treasured. Also both have been brought in to finish abandoned/seized projects a lot iirc
That's too kind to Joss Whedon.
War of the Worlds is kino
it is a pretty good depiction of post 9/11 america
it has prime dakota fanning
I dont ever rewatch any of his movies.
He might be decent director, but his subject matter is obviously not that good
like if you actually watch E.T from time to time, you are probably a 50 year old boomer that sucked his bottle to that movie
I remember rewatching first indiana jones.
