The artists drawing her is really great. Its a big part of her attractiveness.

This, however, does not look good.

after the coomer hype is dead they’ll just pretend she never existed until another writer briefly brings her up for nostalgia points

Pretty spot on. She'll continue to exist solely on the wayside just to sell action figures and posters, even if writers don't want to use her.

        Anonymous

nahh, they're setting her up as a recurring antagonist for Harley since she doesn't have any memorable one yet. doubt she'll go for long periods of time without showing up in something.

why do they act like Punchline is such a big deal, she hasn't shown up in anything but comics, you ask somebody Punchline from DC and they'll probably go "Who?" but people know who Harley and the Joker are. Like i get in universe and out of universe is different but like this feels like writers sucking their new oc off.

They don't really push her that hard.

i mean more for this comic tbh in particular, i think its supposed to be like a celeb couple deal.

To be fair Harley was CREATED by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm in 1992 for the animated series, she wasn't on the mainline comics until 7 years after her debut

Yeah but that's cuz fans liked her and she fit with the world well enough, same with them adapting Mr. Freeze's backstory from the cartoon. Punchline feels like a D-List Harley Quinn a writer made up when they realized they couldn't use Harley.

I think it was easier for her to reach more people because she originated on animation and not comics, kinda like how Livewire from Superman the animated series also go popular enough to get into the mainline comics

She's most likely here to stay tbh, she made a big enough splash her debut year before they squandered it by putting her on a boring jim gordon book. she's basically a character made to sell covers.

                Anonymous

I don't think she's a bad character really. All she really needs is an animated appearance for exposure and BOOM, she's got it made

Fair, guess there will be lots of porn on the bright side of the big tiddy girl in the full body leather corset with cute make up

Eh, I think she's fine. Joker is basically a infamous celebrity of Gotham, so naturally everyone is interested in what the frick her deal is and why Joker decided to bang her. That and she puts on a good show with the fake sympathy card, knows how to viral network, and is attractive. It's totally plausible.

I getcha, it's probably just a me thing, then again given social media if you can put a good enough spin on anything demagogue style you can cash in big time.

Joker and Punchline are all about fricking the police. They're an antifa sjw homosexual's wet dream.

Being fair Joker would definitely show up to a rally with some no lives matter bullshit and then start gassing everyone protestor and cop alike because he's a c**t.

she is tied to the Joker
The minute someone wants to actually show Joker reinventing himself a la morrison in his prose issue
She will be in Harley's position where a prominent writer uses her to show how serious this new take on Joker is

For Morrison that was Joker attempting to kill Harley for some reason which has been done before

For Punchline I doubt anyone would care enough to bring her back

Yeah, i don't disagree with that part, i think that's why they've had her go solo for a while now, she's been on her own longer than she's been with Joker by now.

What, Anon, I'm saying they act like Punchline is a big deal in this book but like she's legit just joker's gf. Would people simp over some gangster's gf IRL? Possibly but like to the point of people dressing up like her and it becoming like a trend? Like in world and out who the frick cares about punchline, she's just the clown's new prostitute. I dunno, doesn't make any sense to think Punchline of all people would get that kind of following.

              >Would people simp over some gangster's gf IRL?
Yes her name was Bonnie, and women simp over serial killers in real life.
              >to the point of people dressing up like her and it becoming like a trend?
              ...Yeah? Have you met people?

I'm sorry but you sound legit autistic. This isn't rocket science. Plus her main gimmick is just being Joker's "cheerleder/mouthpiece" saying the same shit he's preached for years but making it more appealing to the masses

                Anonymous

I just don't think she's got the charisma for it. She's kinda cute but not like the star power for like OVERNIGHT SENSATION PUNCHLINE SWEEPS GOTHAM BY STORM. She's won the hearts and minds of the people and the darlings of criminals. I hate when people say this but she's kinda mid and that's the best way I can express it.
Also Bonnie and Clyde were popular because there was a huge frick the police sentiment in their day and they were robbing banks and killing cops avoiding ordinary people. They essentially embodied the fantasy of millions of people who wanted anti establishment action but lacked the guts for it. Also as soon as innocents got in the crossfire their rep soured pretty quick tbh. Like I could see creeps on Cinemaphile and Reddit thirsting on her but like Joker is an actual terrorist. It's like idk, Amber Heard maybe? Do you really think Amber Heard dating joker could do the same shit Punchline did?

See this i can believe. If she was real this would be the shit that would pop up but like a lot more PLEASE FRICK ME

                [...]
The funniest thing is that Lock-Up (also created for Batman: the animated series) got into the main comics way earlier than Harley and he still shows up in them to this day, but no one seems to give a single frick about him

Being fair that's because Lock Up can't actually like get away with torturing the villains since Bats always stops him. He can't really be a threat otherwise he'd end up replacing bats.

probably because of the black hair plus blue hair streak.

If the writer is implying her freckles is make up and is following zoomer fake freckles trend and blue eyes are contact lenses, then maybe she could be asian. But that's problematic and I'm very VERY weary of the "Asian girls have purple streaks of hair" trope. Plus Tifa is a billion times more popular than Rinoah, I don't get why this is so prevalent with white animators

You know what would be realistic? Not being able to claim the insanity defense when Batman or really any of the bat family could definitely present evidence of her crimes since they record all their vigilante encounters to lock people up besides the main villain

            Anonymous

Realism would be a police sniper waiting outside whatever amusement park or abandoned warehouse Joker is in and blowing his brains out as soon as they get the chance. That would be a kinda boring story tho when like half the normalgay villains just get shot by American overzealous cops. I remember in the really early days the supervillains used to actually used to be scared of cops and would run away as soon as they showed up in force.

She's got Joker agents working everywhere. Basically they killed off anyone that could implicate her as an accessory, only able to prove she was in the same room as Joker and pleaded the "he manipulated me" card. The goal isn't really to get off scot free, but rather stir up a media shitshow and throw Gotham into chaos for Joker while he's lying low.

Dick's too big to be killed off by her
Tim's got gay plot armor now
Jason, Steph and Damian are safe because they've been killed off once already.
Babs is safe because she's clearly someone's pet character at DC
