It can't just be hatereads, who is actually supporting this, why do you people still read this. I am 32 and read this in high school and dropped it after a while because it just became a slog.

My roommate still reads it unironically. I went to make a joke about hand-stabby but asked him first if he'd ever heard of the comic, at which point he mentioned that he reads it.

I mean the handstab was at least 10 years ago, right? Ol' Jeph has gone through a whole marriage and apparently moved to Canada?

Maybe a few hours. He doesn't seem to have a reserve in the event that he wants to go do something that day though.

            >He doesn't seem to have a reserve in the event that he wants to go do something that day though.
i think he does that so he can gauge and temper audience reactions. i've seen him say things said in these threads almost verbatim in the next day's comic. if i were in his shoes i'd crank out like 5 of these puppies in one sitting and enjoy the rest of my week, but his audience is pretty temperamental, so maybe he can't afford to do that

he used to not have a buffer, but now that he releases the comics a day early to his paypigs, he has a full day to react to the comments here and on patreon to adjust the plot/correct errors as necessary

Typos, forgetting to erase sketch lines, incorrect comic numbers... all too much work for ol' Gepphy to fix

How quickly he progressed in the early days. Dora's face there on page 666 actually has soul- it's cartoony and expressive, simple without being crude. He could have leaned into/developed that style and stalled artistically there and things would have been better.

I finally gave it up a few years ago. It's hard to overstate how much a habit can be to drop, and whatever else you can assay about Hacks, he puts out a comic five days a week and has been doing so, barring incidents like The Stabbening, every week since some time in 2003.

The key ingredient to web comic success. There are probably dozens of better comics that are long forgotten today because the creator kept flaking out.

The prevailing theory is that a lot of people just support it because they agree with the values it portrays and they find it comfy.

That's been what she looks like for a while now, any initial designs have been tossed completely, she's just Claire without having to worry about trans stuff now (which he never understood or engaged with on any level beyond tokenism anyway). Seriously, she's the exact same character, awkward and anxious but universally beloved by everyone who meets her

The AI hivemind sent May to hook Marigold up with Augustus Prime because it heard they're both involved in the last heterosexual relationships on Earth and they need to be stopped. May of course is unaware of this, acting on what she believes is personal interest, but really she's an agent for the soft genocide of humanity.
