He got furthest with Faye, and threw it away because he wasn't willing to admit to himself that there was something more important to him than whatever was in front of him at the time. Now May, who he has not only given his affection but a second lease on life and owes him in a way she could scarcely repay, is in an even more complex position. Those are exactly the types of situations Sven runs from. Seeing him actually handle that could be interesting.
