I wish the show didn't nerf Homelander. Part of his appeal in the comics was that he was a complete manchild and monster but also virtually untouchable. It made Butcher's rage at being powerless to take revenge and his anger towards superheroes more meaningful overall.

it's an alternate universe in the comics, where time goes by faster than our own. At the end of the scene they are making a gateway back to his home dimension and it ends up being a few seconds, but months for omni man in the other dimension

They're able to injure black noir with tank rounds and depleted uranium bullets but that's after homelander had already bashed his skull open. Homelander himself could only be killed by another Homelander.

Homelander still has to breathe. Fill the room he's in with something that isn't oxygen fast enough and he's unconscious, then you just leave him there or fill the room with concrete.
He also has to eat and drink. There has to be a poison that could affect him in high enough dosages.

Omniman could take on Homelander from the series and the comics at the same time and win without much issue. He is way more experienced since he's like thousands of years old and as Viltrumites get older they get way stronger, way faster, way more durable and in the event he gets hurt Viltrumites have a crazy pain tolerance that allows them to fight with crazy injuries.
