I assumed he already had one ready according to an ig post earlier this year. Anyway I'll pay to watch anything Refn directs sight unseen

Remember when Cinemaphile cared about this freak? Didn't take him long to throw away all the good will he has built up.

For me, it was Too Old To Die Young not having a real ending because he just filmmed until he ran out of budget. Since he films in chronological order we know he didnt have a plan as all and just filmed dumb fetish shit until amazoj told him to wrap it up.

It was good enough to overlook some of the gay Mexican shit, but not all the gay Mexican shit
The Dr. Venture car case to 'Mandy' was turbo reddit.
William Baldwin stole every scene he was in.
I don't mind major character deaths, in fact I thought it was great, but just end it there instead of carrying on with YaRedditza

I remember about halfway through Copenhagen Cowboy thinking “this feels like he’s making it up as he goes” and sure enough he said so in an interview
I like him but I think he’s kind of high on his own supply

We’re just waiting for him to make a movie again. No one actually watches tv shows, only the redditors that use this site do

      Yawn.
This guy is a legitimate moron.

I watched Only God Forgives. Very bad. It's visually a student film. Amateurish. I tried his cop TV show and it wasn't too good either.

Explain right now why Drive was good and OGF was bad. It's the same fricking movie.

Drive was mid and I only liked it cause I was 17 at the time. He hasn't made anything good since.

This guy has made literally one good piece of art. It just happens to be a masterpiece, though. I don't know if it just happened to have a competent script that kept him in check or what, but Drive is one of the best films of all time. Gosling in his prime looking Aryan. The best soundtrack for any movie ever. Movie starts with a great tense chase, then turns into a slow build, and then.goes balls the wall with Tarantino style gory violence. Gosling turns into Michael Myers and kills israeli subhuman criminals. Truly a masterpiece. Nothing he has made since has been even 1/4 as good.

It's him not writing the story and script because those aren't his strong points, meanwhile he is an excellent visual directlr for someone who is colorblind. I agree though, it is his magnum opus and I think he probably hates that it is. I didn't catch it in the kinoplex but there's a showing next Friday and despite me having seen it countless times, I'm going anyway. It's just something I never get tired of. I don't think he'll ever be able to do that again, it's just a lightning in a bottle film tbh.

NTA but I've watched everything he's done except for TOTDY. The first two Pusher movies are good but nowhere near on the same level.

    >threw a table at a wall in film school and got expelled, then re-did the scene in Bronson
    >directed Drive even though he failed his driver's license exam like 7 times
    >directed OGF only so he could visit toy shops in Thailand then got upset because his wife put his toys in the attic
    >can't shoot his movies in non-chronological order
    >color blind
    >dyslexic
    >lost virginity at 24
    >proposed to his first girlfriend (now wife), she initially said no but kept the ring
    >daughter doesn't call him Dad or Papa, calls him "Jang" the same nickname used by his adult friends and family
    >believes in Thai ghosts because his daughter sees them and Jodo told him some spooky shit reading tarot cards
    >believes Fritz Lang is his wife's real father even though he'd be 83 when she was conceived
    >tried to kill his stepmom but the gun didn't go off
    >literally wears a towel when he's shooting to keep his energy inside him or something
    >can't pick his own clothes, wife does it for him
    >Mads says he can't talk to him outside of movie sets because he can literally only talk about cinema
    >cried first time he met Goose because he was high on cough medicine
    >cried on live Danish TV because Lars Von Trier called his dad a homosexual
    >has deluded himself into thinking he's close friend with David Lynch, randomly brings up "David" in conversations, while other people have no idea who he's talking about
    >despite his wife trying her best to dress him correctly, he still attends event dressed like a teenager while everyone else is dressed properly
    >almost got to his now wife to run away on their second date because he told her he was going to show her a beautiful, emotional film and then forced her to watch The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
    >described The Neon Demon as being about him picturing himself as a 16-year-old girl
    >constantly kept mentioning that Elle Fanning had "just turned eighteen" at Cannes until there was little more than awkward silence in response
    >claims to be israeli
