It’s “spectacular” but totally empty. Mindless violence between cardboard cut outs of “good” and “evil”. No depth or resonance. It’s amusement for dolts, a glorified cartoon episode.
>one off passion projects that directors used to fulfill a version vs. serialized, watered down quasi episodic meme movies with Toy Story tier CGI and Disney Channel tier acting
When Disney took control and put Feige completely in charge is when it fell off the rails. Before that the MCU, especially Iron Man had soul. At the time the MCU was just a natural progression of the capeshit that preceded it (both good and bad), until Disney got involved. The last of the original (pre-Disney) MCU’s soul died when RDJ left with only a very brief resuscitation during No Way Home thanks to all the cameos.
I’ve invested way too much time into paying attention to this shit but you really can track the quality slip with individual changes behind the scenes (Disney purchase, Perlmutter and the board sidelined, Feige direct control, Disney+, major actors leaving…etc.). At the end of the day Feige was a positive influence in keeping true to the comics but was blind to how shit current comics and their adaptations have become. Combine that with Disney milking it for every last drop to try and prop up Disney Money Hemmorage+ and you see why the MCU and Star Wars are where they are today. But don’t let it ruin your memory of MCU phase 1 which has probably been unfairly tainted by recent events in your mind.

Capeshit was never good but it was so much more watchable. Even Phase 1 MCU is mostly enjoyable. The 2010s are where everything went to shit and started feeling more like an assembly line of soulless garbage
You forgot to post any good capeshit though?
Imagine disliking first Iron Man
that's the gateway drug to becoming a funkopop collector
You don't have to imagine, pleb.
Frick off Snyder shill
>can't deny the real capekino
Imagine having absolute shit taste
Explain why Iron Man 1 isn't a good movie

Nope, never had “soul”, don’t care how good RDJ’s dick tastes to your mouth. It’s mindless entertainment please accept this and move on.

The MCU was woke day 1
Tdk is the only movie there

Joss Whedon ruined it and Taika Waititi took took it to such a horrible place I didn't think it was possible
It was enjoyable because there were choices. Now, capeshit has smothered everything else.
It isn't and never will be

What year was it for you guys when everything turned to shit? For me it’s 2014
2012. I didn't like the first Avengers but everyone around me did. It felt really bizarre
You mean when superhero films were reactionary schlock
