Then just like every other capeshit, the discussion around it dried up a year or so after its release.
Come to think of it, I don't think any capeshit besides TDK, and to a lesser extent BvS and Watchmen inspires any sort of discussion years after its release.

It had some pretty visuals and some nice jokes but other than that it's just a generic capeshit with a boring lead. In fact, it feels even more kiddish than usual capeshit. Don't see how any grown men can find any value in it.
That's about it. It's like a tech demo more than anything.
So a movie for kids 9/10
Movie for adults 6/10
Artist making art , what a concept.
.
I think that's the problem it's just ok . At first it's like oh cool art . Yo look my homie Mile's on the big screen . Cute spidy waifu. Wtf chick doc Oct for chick sake .
Overall decent . Barley rememberable . Only reason to see it is miles debut .
>Movie for adults 6/10
You don't watch this movies as an adult. Grow up, please.
B-but didn't you like le heckin' low poserate + low framerate & its stylish symbolism looking like a moving comic book?!! It was SOOOOOOOOOOO deep 'n shiet, yo!
It's about growing into responsibility and finding appreciation for fatherhood but ok.
It could've used some good fatherhood moments then.
Did the children's cartoon go over your head? Peter acts as Miles' surrogate father throughout, embracing the role he was denied in his world. Miles' comes to understand the importance of mentorship sacrifice because of Peter and returns to his father with newfound appreciation.
>Peter acts as Miles' surrogate father throughout,
Fatherhood isn't just teacher style mentorship. It's unfortunate they had fat parker act like a snarky teacher all the time towards Miles. His big moment of maturity doesn't come out of anything Fat Parker says or does but due to some Pep talk by Aunt May. I'm sure the writers room that thought this up would agree with you but that's not what happens on screen.
acts as Miles' surrogate father throughout,
>black character's father is barely there for him
What did ~~*they*~~ mean by this?
He has to work to support the family. It's a core sacrifice central to fatherhood, and not understood by children who lack perspective. Quite mundane, but important. Miles' spectacular experiences as spiderman grant him greater appreciation for the mundane. For example, prior to becoming a superhero he's given a form of the great power great responsibility speech, but with regard to his intelligence rather than anything fantastical. After he saves the universe he understands that he has to use even his simple "power" of intelligence for good.
>BEDER BORKER XD
The most reddit piece of media ever made.
It still is. Certainly top 10 super hero movies of all time.
Get vaccinated, chud.
> Get vaccinated, chud.
You completely ruined your LARP with this.
>the discussion around it dried up a year or so after its release.
That describes most movies.
>shitting on capeshit but...
>sucking dick for BvS and Watchmen which were made by a certain somebody
Ahhhh ok. This is one of those* threads. Got it, carry on.
ouch hide your butthurt next time
>Remember when everyone pretended to like black spiderman way more than it deserved to prove they weren't racist
Yeah I remember.
The movie was unironically carried by the sunflower soundtrack https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApXoWvfEYVU
That was an okay song.
The animation was fluid enough even though I disliked the stilted movements.
I dont think so, the framerate It kept taking me out of the movie.
It was about 10fps. That's a slideshow, not animation
Does 10 fps even count as a movie?
It's more like a really fast slide show than a real movie.
>Black person spiderman with jordans
lol LMAO
Nogger.
I rewatch it again recently and outside of the cool animation it really doesn't have much going for it.
The characters are ok but theres too many of them and the movie clearly dosen't know how to jungle them on top of the pacing not helping this case either
>animation
Cool art/art direction more like. The animation itself is poor.
>Peter B not the best Spiderman depiction
>Doc Oc not being mommy kino
>Hip hop sound track not making scenes like the funeral
>Fight at Aunt May's house not bangin'
>Villain doing what he's doing for love
And that's just what comes to mind off the top of my head and I haven't even seen it in like 3 years.
Get vaccinated, chud.
dilate, troony
>Now kith
we get it you’re black
Whiter than you.
B not the best Spiderman depiction
No. That's still Tobey. He was the best character in the movie though.
>>Doc Oc not being mommy kino
Ew..but it was nice twist.
>>Hip hop sound track not making scenes like the funeral
Okay? Are we supposed to give this movie props for doing something as basic as not shitting up serious scenes with hip hop?
at Aunt May's house not bangin'
Absolutely not. The only thing memorable about that scene is the implied history between May and Doc Ock
doing what he's doing for love
Giving villains motivation is bare minimum. Do you know who else was motivated by love? Wanda, Bane, Sandman. That's nothing special.
Watch more movies. Preferably those that aren't capeshit.
cartoon gay btfo
Hip hop WAS used for the funeral scene. Confirmed you haven't seen it.
Is that how I got the other details correct? Also.
>Are we supposed to give this movie props for doing something as basic as not shitting up serious scenes with hip hop?
I guess we shouldn't. Considering they did shut up the funeral scene with hip hop.
Considering what that anon said. Why did you think this was going to help your argument?
The same could be said about the mcu but that doesn't mean we have to accept it as good. Remember in the decades to come it would still be viewed as kiddie shit and women will still be repulsed by Cinemaphilemblerinas who gush over it.
>Considering what that anon said. Why did you think this was going to help your argument?
Chopin's funeral march is great but doing something different for a funeral scene is good mark in my book.
He's acting as if he has a valid opinion about the movie but in actuallity he just cant say "black lives matter" without his head exploding. Everything he says is a bad-faith argument based around that.
Embarrassing post. Hip Hop/Rap is simply unfit for a funeral. You don't even need to be racist to realise that. Is it racist to say Tristan and Isolde wouldn't be good for dancing in a nightclub? "It's different, So I'll give it points" is a moronic argument.
> He's acting as if he has a valid opinion about the movie but in actuallity he just cant say "black lives matter" without his head exploding. Everything he says is a bad-faith argument based around that.
Back to plebbit dipshit.
If I'm wrong say "black lives matter".
Here
Black lives matter.
Alright, I had you pegged wrong.
The hip hop works for the scene. A more basic sad orchestral piece wouldn't have fit the tone of the movie.
Nah get fricked bootlicker
I could barely even remember the song. The only memorable songs were the sunflower one and the danger one of which the first was good while the danger one was annoying.
>Alright, I had you pegged wrong
omg he said the secret words
your brain actually works like that, holy shit
>in actuallity he just cant say "black lives matter" without his head exploding. Everything he says is a bad-faith argument based around that.
please be bait you’re mind raped
God I hated the trend of making your "spidersona" after this movie came out.
the amount of "hella cute and diverse" spidermen was obnoxious
at least movie miles was kind of likable and not comic miles
this was meant for
this
woops
Yes and it still is. The animation still has yet to be topped. Every character is very strongly writted. The plot is surprisingly solid considering the goofy premise. It's kino from start to finish. It's one of the best capeshit films as well as the one of the best animated ones.
>animation still has yet to be topped
Arcane mogged it so hard it's not even funny
>Arcane
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
zoom zoom shit that looks like a pozzed version of Dishonored with filthy textures and twitchy facial expressions that make every character look like one of those react israelitetubers. doesn't hold a candle to any animated film or show with an actual creative vision.
>pozzed version of Dishonored
????
Dishonored is already pozzed.
Unironically one of my favorite movies of all time and I hate capeshit. It's just fun to watch and has plot lines and themes more coherent than any DC or MCU shit. It felt like the first comic book adaptation with the comic came to life.
holy cringe numale
I will always hate Miles and I will always hate Bendis for creating him and I will always hate liberals for pushing him
That's how you know you arent an NPC.
Why do you hate him?
figurative hate
it's disgust and you know it
His existence was never needed. He was created by Bendis because he's a hack who can't create anything original but wants royalties. Bendis is also obsessed with pushing blacks into legacy roles regardless of how well they're liked which is what he tried to do with Riri Williams as the new Iron Man and killing off Peter in ultimate Spider-Man and replacing him with Miles
Do you know nothing about marvel? There are a million variations and reboots in different universes. You complaining about the ones with black people makes you look like a seething lunatic.
I know plenty about marvel homosexual, I also know when diversity is being force feed to me and I like how you show you don't even know shit. Miles replaced Peter, Peter was already there but that homosexual Bendis killed him off and put in Miles. Miles comics also sell like shit but he's never been cancelled and I'm pretty sure we all know why
So every main character has to be white otherwise it's forced diversity?
You're being disengenious. Miles is not Spiderman. Spiderman is Peter Parker. If you want to create an original big super hero, be my guest but don't take an established role you didn't create for your shitskin OC
we said it was one of the animated films of ll time
the only real funny thing of this movie for me is Spiderham.. and not even as funny as the short they created outside of the movie, so yeah.
I don't even find the technical aspect of spiderverse as jaw dropping as many seem to praise, it's great but the character design is quite "neo-generic", even for the time it came out (telltale games were doing this for quite some time)
my 2 cents.
It was fricking great. Just went there because my 8yo nephew was too young to go alone, but really enjoyed it. Felt like watching a high prod value of the old animated cartoon from the 90s.
Yeah I don't think I've ever watched a movie where the visuals were always fun to watch.
have you watched like 8 movies
ok what's another one then
I’m pretty racist because reality but it was a great movie and still memorable for me. The visuals were original and really made it worth seeing in a cinema and I didn’t see the twists coming either.
this i’m extreme racist and sexist but it was le heckin KINO my Cinemaphile bros
Based Nick Cage. Sequel will be in the top ten grossing films of next year.
It wasn't completely insulting to watch - that's enough nowadays.
7/10
People can't talk about it because every person that wants to rally against it is a double digit iq npc
>duh animation bad cuz low framerate
>duh black interacial cuck genocide
This is all you get for 500 posts. These two points parroted endlessly. People go into threads of discussion and invade with shit crying because they can't accept they might be wrong and everyone has to listen to their bullshit, so normal healthy well adjusted people gave up. That leaves autistic morons to this day still circlejerking their uneducated opinion. Meanwhile people like craig McCracken who was going to retire came back because the movie inspired him to achieve new heights, and Murata started an animation company because he was inspired to go down a new career path.
Yeah, we know that Cinemaphile loves its blacked porn. You don't have to yell about it. Sheesh.
Should also add tomino told aspiring students that spiderverse the cieling of animation that must be surpassed some day. Face it, your opinion doesn't matter.
this guy is the arbiter of opinion value based on he much he likes spidoh man capeshit
Reminder you will never write history, and Spider-verse will be annotated for decades to come.
How is that not legitimate criticism though?
Even "fans" admit the framerate is jarring and it's more the general art direction than the animation itsself that's good.
that makes you a triple cuck since all you’re doing is b***hing and shitting all over yourself
powerless
>These two points parroted endlessly. People go into threads of discussion and invade with shit crying because they can't accept they might be wrong and everyone has to listen to their bullshit
You're a disingenuous piece of garbage. The vast majority of comments in this thread were criticizing the forgettable story and characters. Yet, you pretend the criticisms are fuelled by racism.
> Craig McCracken
Nobody gives a rats ass what the creator of powerpuff girls think.
>you need to have valid arguments apart from these ones
>"here"
>NOOOOOOO NOT LIKE THAT I SHIDDED AND FARDE
heh
>inciting incidents bad, character arcs bad, mentally ill projection
>valid arguments
I don't think the MCU will have much of a legacy because the sheer volume of films will put future generations off.
>Want to check out this historical fad called the MCU.
>Learn that there are 50 films and 10 spin-off TV shows, and they are all part of one continuous soap opera story.
>Decide not to bother.
This. Zoomers don't have the patience to sit through anything longer than a minute anymore, and it'll be worse with their descendents. Capeshit has no staying power anymore. I predict an imminent crash soon.
>the discussion around it dried up
ignoring your sad and completely baffling dicksucking of Snyder and BvS (a completely forgotten movie that literally nobody gives a shit about)
You're just describing culture now, its not just movies its literally everything. Escapism has taken this form where people get obsessed about something momentarily and then they forget all about it because nobody actually cares about anything. I can't even remember the last movie that had any kind of cultural impact whatsoever.
>sad and completely baffling dicksucking of Snyder and BvS
At this point I have to wonder if you morons legit 80 IQ. The only film I truly really praised was TDK in my post. I said to a "lesser extent" watchmen and BvS. You think that's dick sucking. As I sais in another I don't even like these two films but it's undeniable they generate more discussion and I'm not just talking about Cinemaphile.
> You're just describing culture now, its not just movies its literally everything.
Disagree. There are some films that resonate enough to garner continued discussion beyond 1 year. Since 2015(keeping it somewhat recent) these are the films that seem to be talked about a lot and are influential.
1) BR2049
2) Fury Road
3) The VVitch
4) Joker
Before anybody says it. I'm not saying these were great but they still talked about.
>I'm not saying these were great but they still talked about.
You're just describing movies that left some kind of impact on Cinemaphile not culturally at large. None of these movies really left any kind of impact, especially not fricking Joker, that is a movie that was only talked about because the most terminally online fricking losers on the internet waged some kind of war with each other.
>best animated
The animation is great but the story and character design doesn't work, heroes need to be athletic and beautiful and they went for the other hand here the result? box-office failure and the images of the sequel show that they haven't learned anything
idk about all time but i do think it's a solid movie, how is it not? i mean what's wrong with it story wise? i personally thought the animation was alright but i can see why you would hate it
Gwen is for _
God damn she's fine. And the rule 34 is all set up for BBC. Where do you guys find your rule 34 for cartoons?
why she looks like a boy?
The Phantom Menace must be one of the best pictures ever made because we have daily threads about it twenty years later
We just had a thread about it yesterday. You're just triggered because there's black people in it. Literally rent free.
>black spiderman wears a black costume.
Heh
>my oc steel donut is spiderman but hella diverse and he has spidermans powers but can also turn invisible and also has electricity for some reason!
Comic book affirmative action kek
MILES ONLY HAS ONE KIND OF STORY
THE STORY WHERE HE IS VALIDATED AS A LEGITIMATE SPIDER-MAN
If that's the only story you can tell for him then obviously he's not Spider-Man.
I watched it. Like any other Marvel movie, boring and bland.
I just can't understand why people like Margel shit so much.
The Remi Spiderman movies, especially the first, were good, but except for that I don't think I have seen a decent Marvel movie, and I have seen too many of them.
It was on tv the other day i could only watch like 10 minutes until a talking pig in a spiderman costume showed up and i changed the channel
>literally kill spiderman
Replacement propaganda
I can't believe people on Cinemaphile stopped talking about a movie with a black lead. Unprecedented.
