Yeah. I watched until they reach the prison, but it started to feel too repetitive so I stopped watching. But the first seasons are so good. I don't know if it gets better after the prison.

Is there any other Zombie show that gets on that level?

      The Kingdom is better.

And if you like The Kingdom, there is an earlier film called Rampant that has a similar premise.

Yes, it was while watching the pilot episode, it seemed like it had potential. Then the second episode aired and it instantly turned into standard procedural crap.

Season 4 - Season 6 midseason premiere (no way out) is the peak of the series and it immediately jumps off a clip after that.

yeah, back when it seemed like a comfy little survival show with a small roster of likeable characters and an interesting enough take on a well established genre.

And then season 2 came out.

    loved season 1

    got bored season 2

season 3 with the governor and angela arc was unbearable and i dropped it

First season was mostly good then turned into a gigantic hot carl. Characters that never learn and grow, e.g. they have a world to plunder but don't think of basic protective clothing.

Liked the beginning of it and kept sticking with it even when it sucked, just hoping it would get back on track. Lesson learned

I remember watching the pilot before going to school and really liking it. I enjoyed it up until the point Rick reunites with Carl and Laurie and that's about it.

it's just that not much happens there. probably also just forgot all of the nothing that was happening on the farm too to be quite frank with you

no. it's like i instinctively knew they were going to give frank darabond the boot so i never bothered to enjoy season 1

in retrospect the comic is also pretty bad.

Just like World War Z, the book, it’s a piece of media I enjoyed when it came out but when I look at it now, the logic of it all falls apart.

I watched the first two episodes then got so bored I stopped watching it entirely then slowly but surely I saw more and more hateful comments on it.

Despite the first three seasons being a little bit of a mess because of three different showrunners, I felt like they nailed the gritty grounded feel the show needed and were peak enjoyment for me. I loved Shane's arc, the prison, and The Governor. The show had its ups and downs from there. It was excellent how Joe's gang was introduced as what felt like throwaway one-episode wonders (which they were in the comics), but Daryl joined up with them without knowing what happened and they eventually caught up to Rick on the road with an axe to grind. It was great storytelling to have them be so oblivious that one little bad decision could keep snowballing behind them when most shows (including The Walking Dead most of the time) would just forget it happened. I wish the show could've kept that quality.

Little by little Scott Gimple made it feel Syfy Original, cheap, corny, kept putting more focus on bad show OC characters no one cared about, and just wouldn't stop with the weird inhuman dialog and incessant moralizing, especially from Morgan. I clock the garbage people and all-women summer camp as the point of no return for the show. They were clumsy enough trying to keep the plates they already had spinning without adding even more bad ones into the mix. Remember when Heath literally just disappeared without explanation because the actor left the show for 24? They're still promising to sort that out 6 years later, as if anyone in real life gives a shit, as if anyone in the show gives a shit about some dude they knew for a few weeks a decade ago in-universe. They were clearly losing their touch so bad in season 6 and I just wasn't ready to admit it at the time.

I binged the entire series while I was stuck up north in an arctic station and I was surprised that I enjoyed the whisperers as much as I did.
The first half is good and then the second half of their arc jumps off a cliff (heh) in quality.

I heard that Negan guy became a cast regular and apparently not a recurring villain, how the frick did they get over the thing where he bashed main cast chink guy's brains in? Seems like something somewhat unforgivable.

Agreed. Most of it wokeshit anyways. Likely going to stick to movies made in the 1980’s and before.

Loved the show when it first got big around 2011-2013 but I was pretty young back then and didn't know any better. Around the time they got to Terminus I knew the show had got pretty shit by then and in retrospect the whole show was shit with some rare jarring moments of good acting and action scenes interspersed throughout. Overall the show is shockingly bad though, especially when contrasted with Raimi's first three Dead movies. Night of The Living Dead and Dawn of The Dead is as good as the zombie genre will ever get. TWD somehow aged worse than Rick and Morty.

Best era was Negan villain era. S9 and s10 were okay except they shouldn’t have added in the new characters. Lydia was the only new character I liked. She was my self insert lol
