It's good and weird and Tudyk has fun playing the reluctant Alien hero. Hope it continues, even if it's just 8 ep at a time.

The first season was pretty good, the second season had two feminist episodes for some reason, didn't see the third one yet

The third season is much better than the second season. For some reason the second season was all about girl bosses and Indian women problems and completely unrelated no one watched.

      >the women are insufferable and need removing
Constantly see this exaggeration, there is definitely episodes where the awkward feminist writers room overdoes it but overall the female characters are all interesting and well written especially Asta and Deputy Liv. You need to be a really easily triggered /misc/tard to write off the whole show because of Wamen!

they're genuinely insufferable characters, as in they're written to be absolutely disgusting people

forgot to add, around episode 5 harry actually calls them all out for being utterly shit people; it's purely intentional

The first is good but the ending feels a bit rushed. The second is mostly terrible, the feminism episode in particular is awful, but beyond that the writing just isn't as sharp and feels overall messy. I've yet to see the third season.

i started it and im at episode 4. main actor is a really good choice! he looks likeable and comical, like he can move his mouth to an awkward grin and his eyes are like chamelon ones. The characters seem sweet and just a bit edgy without making me uncomfortable.

      >the ending feels a bit rushed.
i believe these are two things, most shows cant get without

      >the women are insufferable and need removing

a bit of social politics will be part of most series, if too outdone it takes it away from the cozy mountain village and into the buzzy streets of nowadays and that can loose its charm. ill see what i feel about it.

        >if too outdone it takes it away from the cozy mountain village and into the buzzy streets of nowadays and that can loose its charm
there's plenty of moments like this, but like i mentioned in a reply to that anon, it's intentional to some degree to show how these people are insufferable, it adds to harry's development from alien to someone with a better understanding of human emotion than actual humans

at the same time, it can be incredibly distracting

They're written to be flawed and somewhat stupid but ultimately decent people, like every other character in this show.

a lot of the show is just this, it takes a bit of time, but it is really a show about an alien becoming more human than the humans he's around

the third season is definitely the strongest so far

Asta's booty in the pilot episode is nice. But you can tell it gets huge and they are really trying to hide it in subsequent episodes

First season good. Not exactly high art, but a good little comedy drama thing. Then they shit the bed at the very end of the season by wrapping it up in a way that meant subsequent seasons had nowhere interesting to go.
Then S2 onwards the writing turned to shit, the premise of the show was effectively gone, and it became a pointless boring thing trying to score diversity points as hard as possible.
A real shame because seeing Alan Tudyk get a decent role was nice. Dude's getting on a bit and has been very under-utilized.

I think so too, he is well expressive. Particulary when he tried to get to know his human body at the beginning, was fun to watch.

I liked when he noticed loneliness. He described it like a hunger, until he located it in his heart. That was sweet

Good cast and funny show but sadly degrades over time because they keep hiring far left writers who make entire characters fricked up, devote entire episodes to whining about agendas (gender wage gap episode in season 2 by far the worst) and seem to just forget things.

It’s bizarre when they have the alien get new tech or lose things, and then it’s somehow never fricking relevant. Even when it would be incredibly useful or a big problem

      > and then it’s somehow never fricking relevant.
That’s something I dislike a lot. I understand I cannot expect realism, but I’m also invested and want some consistency in writing instead of constantly being side tracked with fun moments. I also care for it all to makes sense

2nd season gets hit with feminist propaganda hard. it also goes into hack writing territory, as the show keeps introducing new plot twists every 10 minutes that tend to resolve themselves immediately, or gets resolved by the next plot twist.
They also sidelined Alan Tudyk and the whole "fish out of water" theme of the show in favor of boring turbobawd "female drama", so expect a lot of screen time dedicated to female bar bawd feeling sorry for herself because she's an alcoholic and chose the cumdumpster life.

I was homeless one winter and got a hotel for a couple of days. During that fever dream in between trying to get my driver's license and eating chocolate covered peanuts, I believe I watched the entire first season. Up until the episode where the one girl discovers he's an ayy. Honestly, I've seen far worse. It's mostly White people as well. So, 6/10.
