>before disney scrubs them completely
Nah, the mouse is never going to pass up the chance to get you to buy the stuff even after they've told you it doesn't count. Money for what they consider nothing.
Because Luke following Vader's path, training under palpatine, and then defeating him required Vader's sacrifice. Plus, Luke was the chosen one until the prequels built up Anakin's importance in Jedi mythology.
>more sith after this story
Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't they almost entirely ancient Sith Lord spirits? Darth Krayt being one of the few living flesh and blood Sith?
Everyone else were just Dark Jedi.
they should just rename it "Television, Film & Contrarianism"
hmmm. i guess frick anakin and prequel shit
>sigh
Somehow, this was written before that
Because Luke following Vader's path, training under palpatine, and then defeating him required Vader's sacrifice. Plus, Luke was the chosen one until the prequels built up Anakin's importance in Jedi mythology.
I mean there are more sith after this story, EU just glosses over it.
The comic came out before that prophecy was introduced. And every major dark sider antagonist after Dark Empire considered the clone Palpatine a fake Sith Lord.
I didn't mean to point out apparent plot holes. Could an explanation not be that Palpatine coming back was fine because the Sith were no longer the undisputed force rulers of the galaxy?

He did It on the movies you fricking moron >3000 jedi, 1 or 2 sith >jedi kills almost every jedi >now jedi and sith are on equal ground
Watch the fricking movies
>pre approved Playlist that's ok for kids to listen too >that means the movie is for kids
What is this dumbass logic? It's an orchestra of course it's ok for kids to listen
Not only was it decently explained, but it occurred after the Imperial Remnant was also mostly dealt with in a decent explanation. The 'bad guys' didn't all just randomly vanish into thin air, they were still a worthy opponent, and the New Republic's people, including the main three, acted competently and professionally and won/lost many battles.
>returns in a completely moronic way >completely pawns Luke like RoTJ never happened >writer doesn't understand story telling or character arcs at all >only people dumber than him like his fan fic
The final section of Dark Empire got ridiculous, I will concede that.
>Palpatines entire plan was completely undermined and ruined by a royal guard trying to become emperor. >Had to completely shift his plans into stealing one of the Solo children and translating his soul into it. >Bungles the entire plan on Onderon and ends up getting trapped inside of some Jedi turned technological abomination. >R2-D2 not only manages to reprogram the Eclipse Mark II to hyperspace back to Byss, but also orchestrates it to ram into the Galaxy gun, destroying the largest imperial fleet ever assembled and the entire planet of Byss in one fell swoop.
Dark Empire had some neat art and ideas, but it really shits the bed a lot. The World Devestators were a really cool concept though.
Dark Empire after volume 1 isn't the same thing at all. Even the art is worse. It's telling that nothing you listed is from 1, which is pretty much perfect. The others must have been made as a cash grab.
Was it this or the Thrawn trilogy where Lucas was an autist and vetoed the idea of the author wanting the empire to use a fake Vader for propaganda purposes.
fricking kino
Reading this as a kid, I had zero doubts that we would get a SW sequel trilogy and that they'd be perfect. A random book got it right, how could Hollywood fail?
Gatekeeping homosexuals are the bane of this site but it was pretty easy to reverse image search the comic so next time don’t engage morons
https://readcomiconline.li/Comic/Star-Wars-Dark-Empire
it really is a shame they tarnished their work with the later volumes. I was confused by everyone saying "dark empire is shit" on here because I never realized there were more.
The sequels make Truce at Bakura look like an interesting and fun diversion. Hell if I had the stomach, I'd go back to some of the YA novels with the twins to see if they're better too.
hm, maybe i'll try it next month
I have a feeling that it plays similar to wow, I never liked WASD 3d mmos, I was always a isometric guy but I'm having a star wars urge recently lmao
The original trilogy is shit, the EU is shit, the prequels are shit, the Disney series are shit and the sequels are shit.
In fact, all Star Wars is shit.
this is one of the greatest star wars stories. i need to buy all the expanded universe stuff before disney scrubs them completely
>before disney scrubs them completely
Nah, the mouse is never going to pass up the chance to get you to buy the stuff even after they've told you it doesn't count. Money for what they consider nothing.
They are currently selling reprints of most of it with the Legends branding slapped on
how does this reconcile with Anakin bringing balance to the force?
hmmm. i guess frick anakin and prequel shit
>sigh

Everyone else were just Dark Jedi.
Uh no, there were a shit ton, mostly ones serving Darth Caedus and then Darth Krayt
Frick you, the prequels are not canon.
they should just rename it "Television, Film & Contrarianism"
I didn't mean to point out apparent plot holes. Could an explanation not be that Palpatine coming back was fine because the Sith were no longer the undisputed force rulers of the galaxy?
Is the Dark Empire series written in 1991 responsible for plot holes created by a movie that came out 8 years later?
Can you stop debating for one second? If they're not coincident then there's a plot hole, don't play the blame game with me
It's the same thing with the sequel trilogy. Balance was brought, then it was disrupted again
The comic came out before that prophecy was introduced. And every major dark sider antagonist after Dark Empire considered the clone Palpatine a fake Sith Lord.
He did It on the movies you fricking moron
>3000 jedi, 1 or 2 sith

Watch the fricking movies
Calm the frick down for starters
Eat my ass while you suck my dick from behind, for starters
Coming on a bit strong there anon
moron. It doesn't work that way and never has. Lucas said balance is attained when the dark side is completely gone.
>this kills the prequel gay
all movies are for children
>Cannibal Holocaust is a kids movie
>Cartel killing vids are kids movies
>Chinese liveleak footage is suitable for kids
>pre approved Playlist that's ok for kids to listen too
>that means the movie is for kids
What is this dumbass logic? It's an orchestra of course it's ok for kids to listen
This comic is older than the prophecy and even George Lucas' sequels would've ignored it.
Real answer: It was actually Anakin Skywalker’s grandson Anakin Solo who was meant to be the real balancer.
But then the Vong came and killed him.

The 'bad guys' didn't all just randomly vanish into thin air, they were still a worthy opponent, and the New Republic's people, including the main three, acted competently and professionally and won/lost many battles.
Even the shitty new Resident Evil series from Netflix had an explanation how Wesker was back.
This artwork is more entertaining than any Star Wars movie, including OT
>returns in a completely moronic way

pawns Luke like RoTJ never happened
Luke was out matched by him in RoTJ though.
>returns in a fully explained way
>OP provides no reference on how or what material.
>spoonfeed me!!!
You don't deserve to know, the EU isn't for you casual.
have a nice day you gatekeeping homosexual.
>t. People too ADHD riddled to read a book
You didnt read it either which is why you cant respond. Go into some details that you cant get by reading the wiki.
frick you Black person, gatekeeping is needed to keep fricking troons like yourself out.
>STOP GATEKEEPING ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If people like you had gotten gatekept, Star Wars wouldn't be as shit as it is now.
>Star Wars wouldn't be as shit as it is now.
You have no idea how corporations work.
>SUPER SECRIT CLUB-U gay
actually kino
>killed by a fat cripple
Lol

I always wonder how many people R2 has killed.
The World Devastators would have been such a neat weapon visually in the sequels for the First Order.
>The World Devestators were a really cool concept though.
Loved that mission in Rogue Squadron 64.
kino
Dark Empire after volume 1 isn't the same thing at all. Even the art is worse. It's telling that nothing you listed is from 1, which is pretty much perfect. The others must have been made as a cash grab.
>doesn't include the entire x-wing series
In the trash it goes
What is this? It has both legends and Disney, but just like a random smattering of each?
Was it this or the Thrawn trilogy where Lucas was an autist and vetoed the idea of the author wanting the empire to use a fake Vader for propaganda purposes.
Yup.
Tom Vietch shouldn't have written a post OT story. His old republic comics are good, however
It gets mogged by Heir to the Empire
"Somehow" isn't good enough for you? Yikes, incel!
fricking kino

It doesn't matter if it was explained or not, bringing him back was fricking stupid.
star wars is fricking stupid. They brought back the death star in ROTJ
Unironically good comics.
>have entire books to adapt as scripts
>jews are too lazy to read
>return a fully functional lightsaber duelist
Are the audiobooks goods of the novels?
Is this thread made by the same ESL Hispanic who got BTFO for being a low-IQ loser last week?
he's into dark empire? The man has taste. Unlike you.
>licensed cash-grab genreshit
>taste
Guffaw.
Yes.
>Yes.
volume one is good, this literally isn't even debatable. The rest only exist for morons to use as strawmen
>licensed cash-grab genreshit
>good
This is your Black-amerindian brain on corn syrup.
not an argument, but thanks for the bump
>not an argument
Nobody cares about an argument you've had on an anonymous website, stop acting like a woman.
We didn't know what we had, the sequels make Dark Empire look like absolute kino.
The sequels make Truce at Bakura look like an interesting and fun diversion. Hell if I had the stomach, I'd go back to some of the YA novels with the twins to see if they're better too.
Young Jedi Knights is still god-tier.
>fully explained way
>somehow
now tell me if playing STAR WARS TOR mmo is good
Not as good as it used to be, but you can check it out for the class stories.
hm, maybe i'll try it next month
I have a feeling that it plays similar to wow, I never liked WASD 3d mmos, I was always a isometric guy but I'm having a star wars urge recently lmao
Never liked this one, and was fricking shocked they picked such a stupid relic of the old EU to steal from but that they did it worse
The full-cast audiobook was fukken kino as fukken frick.
you're overthinking it
it was actually a simple trick
The original trilogy is shit, the EU is shit, the prequels are shit, the Disney series are shit and the sequels are shit.
In fact, all Star Wars is shit.
